Chapter 13:

Vivianna Bay Part 2

Ria smiled apologetically, "I'm sorry miss, the studio is closed for today, but we will be open tomorrow."

Aqua hesitated slowly replying, "Mom…It's me, Aqua."

A puzzled look was on her mother's face. "Excuse me?"

"It's Aq-" she said before all the electricity shut down in the shop.

Her mother looked up at the ceiling, "oh no." Then back at the customer. "Can you hold that thought miss?"

The woman yelled across the empty room to her husband who was now drying the mirrors. "Hey Dalis honey, the power went out. Do you mind switching it back on from the storage room?"

"Sure, No problem." The dark blue haired man dropped his cotton towel on the floor and walked away to the room unseen.

"Hmm..I wonder if the neighbors are having the same problem." Said her mom before excusing herself outside the shop.

Something isn't right here…

"Well that's just plain creepy!" Ria shouted. Aqua followed her mother out seeing her look at the dim sky. "Its high noon and it's already pitch black."

It was fightenly dark and black grim clouds swirled around where the sun used to rein. People began coming out of their homes and shops questioning each other of the sudden change of weather.

Cllaaaasssshhh!

Both Aqua and Ria jumped from the noise inside the shop. Aqua turned to her worried mother, "Stay out here." Summoning Stormfall, rushing into the shop, her mother's eyes glued at the blue and silver keyblade.

"Dad!" She yelled voice echoing in the studio. No answer. Aqua ran to the storage room and there the horror. Her father was lying still on the cemented tile eyes still open, as a large belly rounded Heartless held onto its glossy pink glowing prize.

"NO!" Aqua screamed swinging her keyblade at the monster's stomach. The impact caused her to bounce back while the huge Heartless did a forward flip vanishing from the dark room. Aqua quickly turned to Dalis. He too was becoming transparent as all those who lost their hearts had before him.

"I have to save Mom!" She yelled racing back outside hearing the stirring screams of people on the road. Ria was cornered surrounded by shadow heartless.

Aqua pointed Stormfall at them, "Lock on, Prism Rain!" Rainbow of lights shot out of her keyblade weaving through the creatures as they dissipated though she knew more of them would start popping up.

The young master held onto her mother's hand leading her away. "I need to get you out of here, right now Mom."

Ria abruptly stopped causing her daughter to let go. "A-Aqua?"

"Yes it's me, but now's not the tim-" Then suddenly everything went completely black as if the whole world shut down. It was so dark there was no reflection of light. Then as quick as it shut down, it became light again.

It was mid morning once more. There were no people on the streets, no heartless, her mother was nowhere to be scene and coming from the studio was her younger self skipping along to the end of the block on her way to the Bakery. Oblivious of what had happened just a few seconds ago.

What is going on?

It felt like somebody flipped the reset button and only left Aqua by herself haunted by the horrible events. Tears fell from her cheeks, looking over once more at her younger self talking to the jolly baker.

"Enjoying the show?" The poor girl turned her head seeing Vanitas leaning against a lamp post arms crossed.

"You're horrible." She said wiping her tears away with her hands giving the boy a disgusted glare.

"Tch, like I could really create something this vivid." He rolled his eyes. "This…" the dark user walked beside the sadden master summoning Voidgear. "…is nothing more than a dead world's dream."

"A dream?"

"A swallowed world's fate. Forced to play the events that happened before becoming a meal for darkness."

So that's why…they never.. Aqua shook her head. Don't even want to think about it…

"Then why are we able to see this?" she questioned.

"What am I now, a fucking tutorial? Figure it out yourself." He said tossing Voidgear at the bakery shop's window. Shattering it completely as his weapon boomeranged back to his hand.

"HEY!" The baker shouted while the young Aqua shielded her head inside the shop.

"Alright, let's keep going." Vanitas stabbed the paved road opening a black swirling hole.

"What kind of game is this?!"

"A fun one." He looked at her as if she was the one insane.

Aqua took one last look at her old native world, then back at the swirling pool of darkness. What was going to be beyond that thing? She wondered. This sick game barely begun and already it was too much. It was all too much to bear, but if she had any hope saving Ven and Terra it was the only way.

"I guess you're staying here then?" Vanitas teased.

"Hell. No." She replied jumping in the dark pool first.

Vanitas smirked following suit. It was the first time the goody-two-shoes actually cussed.

To be continued…
