Laura: And here we have it the next chapter! I worked really hard on getting this chapter out and I'm really hoping that its satisfactory for all of you! ITS NARUTO'S AND SASUKE'S FIRST DATE! This chapter is coming from a girl who has never been on a real date before. This is purely from watching romantic movies and reading romance novels.
Sasuke: That makes you sound pathetic.
Laura: Nuh uh! I've had boyfriends... they just never took me out!
Naruto: Dating someone for 6 hours doesn't count.
Laura: ...Dating someone for 2 weeks does...
Sasuke: In the seventh grade? When you didn't kiss, or hug, or touch in any way, shape, or form?
Laura: SHUT UP!
DISCLAIMER: I'm pretty sure that I don't own Naruto. Actually I'm positive.
Naruto POV
On Friday morning I had an epiphany. I knew exactly what I was going to do for our date this evening. It was somewhat simple and definitely romantic. I'm sure Sasuke will love it. The only problem is that my special surprize involved me taking over the back yard, which meant I needed my parents permission... which means I'm going to have to tell them about Sasuke and I... The thought alone made me cringe, it's going to be so embarrassing.. After procrastinating for half an hour I finally gathered up my courage and marched down stairs. I bumped into Sakura on my way down who tried to strike up a conversation but I didn't waste any time talking to her, that didn't stop her from following me however.
I found my parents in the living room watching some show about real estate. I cleared my throat loudly causing them both to turn and face me. Sakura went and joined them on the couch seeming to be interested in my actions. "I have a favour to ask." I said getting straight to the point. Minato studied me for a moment before snorting and looking back at the TV. "I told you I'm not paying for a new phone. You want an I phone than you can go out and buy one yourself." "No that's not it." I corrected with a small chuckle. "I was just wondering if I could borrow the back yard for the night.." "Why do you need the back yard?" Kushina asked curiously. "I'm doing something for Sasuke." I responded with a nervous grin.
At this point they both were staring at me suspiciously, I noticed Sakura giving me a knowing smile out of the corner of my eye and felt my cheeks heat up. "Something for Sasuke?" My mother repeated slowly. "Ya. I just need some space to do it." Why am I beating around the bush like this? I know they are going to figure it out, my parents are anything but stupid. I should just get it over with and face the embarrassment head on, I'm sure if I don't tell them then Sakura will. Unsurprisingly after a few seconds of thinking my Mother started grinning like a mad man. "What..?" I asked feeling the heat once again return to my face.
Minato looked between the two of us before letting out a chuckle. "Heh..." "What?!" I shouted defensively. My Mother suddenly jumped off the couch and pointed a finger at me. "Its a date! Isn't it!" She shouted, almost accusingly. I opened and closed my mouth for a second, not really knowing what to say. Sakura was giggling hysterically next to my Father, making me feel even more embarrassed. Finally I decided on just nodding my head. "I KNEW IT!" Kushina shouted victoriously. "I called it! I told you Minato! I win! Cough it up!" I watched horrified as my Dad reached into his pocket and pulled out a 20 dollar bill. "You bet that this would happen?!" "Of course!" Kushina quickly snatched up the money from my Dad's hand and grinned at me.
"It was an easy bet. We all knew it was going to happen eventually!" "Are you KIDDING me?!" "BWAHAHAHAHA!" I quickly grabbed one of the free pillows on the couch and chucked it at Sakura's head. "Shut up!" "Oh calm down son. Were not making fun of you." I found myself pouting like a little kid as my Dad gave me a sympathetic smile. "You bet on my love life..." I grumbled childishly. "I told you it was an easy bet! Now tell me how it happened!" My Mum grabbed my arm and then shoved me into one of the reclining chairs, she stood in front of me with her hands on her hips, affectively blocking my escape. I sighed in defeat when I saw the determined smile on her face. "I asked him out at school yesterday, in the library. It was very... uh, sweet... I think."
For some reason I was stupid enough to believe that that was all she needed to hear. "And?!" She questioned excitedly. "Mum.. Your excited that I'm... gay...?" "Uh huh!" "Okay... just making sure." I leaned around her and gave Sakura a sympathetic look. "I understand now, why you're so screwed up in the head." Sakura's laughing immediately stopped and turned into an icy glare. I smirked at her before looking back up at my Mum. "So can a borrow the backyard or not?" "No! Well- not until you give me more details! How did you ask him? What was his reaction? Ooooh this is so exciting! My babies are finally getting together!" "Please don't say it like that..." "Kushina give the kid a break, this is probably a very awkward time for him." I sent my Dad I silent thank you with my eyes and he smiled in return. "But- but!" "If you must talk about it I'm sure Mikoto would-"
My thankful look quickly turned into a look of panic, my Dad quickly closed his mouth as he realized his mistake. "Mikoto!" My Mum cheered as she turned to look at Minato like he had said the smartest thing she had ever heard. "Of course! I need to tell Mikoto! Or better yet, maybe Sasuke told her everything and she can give me details!" Before I could even get a word out my Mum was rushing out of the living room and into the kitchen to grab the nearest phone. Once again I was left floundering. "Don't worry about it Naruto." My Dad chuckled as he saw the defeated look on my face. "It'll blow over soon. Now, in regards to the back yard. You can have it under once condition." I looked at him unsteadily. "W-what's that...?" "You have to tell me what you're doing for him." "DAD!" "HAHAHAHA!"
Sasuke POV
I really should have prepared myself for this level of awkwardness. When I told them I was going on a date with Naruto my parents gave me two very different reactions. My father had actually laughed, thinking it was a joke while my mother just smiled and nodded her head as if she was silently saying "I approve" When I finished explaining to my dad that it wasn't a joke I found myself being stared at. I was starting to get extremely worried that he wasn't going to approve of Naruto and I going out. He stuttered with words for a minute or so before finally speaking to me. "No!" "No..?" "Well- no... I don't mean no but.." I frowned up at my father. "So it's a yes..?" "N-yes.. I suppose.. but doesn't it seem a little odd?"
I shrugged as I sat down at my computer desk. "I guess its a little strange... but I'm really excited." Fugaku rubbed at the back of his head as he let out a big puff of air. "Well I think its great." My mum smiled from the doorway. "I always thought you two would make a cute couple." I felt my cheeks heat up as an uncomfortable grunt came from my father. "Look Sasuke, if this is really what you want-" "It is" "...Then I'm not going to stop you. I just want to make sure you know what you're doing." "Fugaku." Mikoto gently slapped his arm before walking over and sitting on my bed. She smiled at me lovingly. "Don't worry about anything sweetie, I'm sure you two will work it all out." I found myself unable to hold back a smile, it felt really good knowing I had someone who supported me whole heartedly.
I slowly looked back up at my dad and sighed. "Dad.. I love Naruto.. and I want to be with him. I'd really appreciate it if you would support me in my decision." I gave him the best puppy dog look I could manage and even added in a little whimpering as an extra bonus. My dad exchanged a quick look with my mother before sighing and smiling at me. "Of course I'll support you. I hope things go well tonight." I quickly jumped out of my chair and was completely prepared to hug both my parents but the sound of the phone ringing distracted us. "I'll get it." My dad quickly rushed out of the room, probably to get away from the awkwardness of this conversation, and grabbed the phone.
Once we were alone my mother beat me to the hug. "I'm so happy for you Sasuke. I know you've been after this for a while." I slowly pulled back and stared at her with wide eyes. "You knew?!" I asked bewildered. "Of course I did, your my son. A mother notices these kind of things." I pouted as my mother patted me on the head like a little kid. "Don't worry sweetie, I kept my mouth shut." I rolled my eyes and sat back down at my desk as my mother giggled to herself. "Mikoto!" Fugaku yelled from the hallway. My mother and I both jumped from the sudden shout. "Yes?" "Its Kushina! And she's being crazy again!" I laughed as my mum stood up, she rolled her eyes but a smile was still on her face. "We'll talk more later okay?" I nodded, still laughing, as she walked out of my room. I decided I needed to tell Naruto about all this and quickly sent him a text.
Hey! I just finished telling my parents about tonight. -Sasuke
Weird... so did I O.o How'd it go? -Naruto
It went well! I think my Dad was a little creeped out about the whole thing... but he supports us :} -Sasuke
That's a relief.. I was kinda expecting Fugaku to kick my ass... -Naruto
Hahaha don't worry about that. So how did it go with your parents? -Sasuke
Okay get this. Apparently everyone except me knew that I was gay... HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?! -Naruto
Denial...? -Sasuke
Maybe... anyway they're both cool with it. My mum is just as creepy about it as Sakura is. She totally flipped shit. -Naruto
Ah, that would explain why she called my mum :P -Sasuke
Crazy women... -Naruto
I like this. -Sasuke
Like what? -Naruto
This, just the two of us goofing around and still being... you know US. There's no awkwardness... Its nice. -Sasuke
Yeah, I like it this was too :] I'm going to try and keep things simple tonight. Although I can't say with confidence and I'm not going to make a pass at you... -Naruto
Heh.. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.. -Sasuke
Pick you up later ;) -Naruto
I kept smiling until he came to pick me up that evening.
"We're... at your house..?" Naruto frowned as he unlocked the gate that led into the backyard. "Don't look so disappointed" "I'm not! Really I'm not I'm just a little confused.. Why are we going into the backyard?" Naruto closed the gate behind us then turned to me, he smiled before grabbing my hand in his. "You'll see." Feeling extremely anxious I allowed Naruto to guide me down the side of the house. I noticed some sort of white glow as we grew closer and closer to the back. "What..?" I asked curiously as I looked up at Naruto. He just smiled at me and told me to shush. When we finally reached the back I saw that lines of Christmas tree lights were hung up on the porch and on a few of the bushes scattered around the yard.
'That must have been the white glow from earlier' I thought astonished. The lights lit up the whole backyard in a beautiful, comfortable glow. I found myself memorized as I traced the lines of lights with my eyes all around the yard. When my gaze once again landed on the porch I quietly gasped at the sight in front of me. A small table with a white lace table cloth on it was standing proudly on the edge of the porch, in the middle a single rose in a vase sat between two sets of plates and utensils. With the soft light illuminating down on it, almost as if it was a spot light, it looked as if it was a scene taken straight out of a movie. I felt my entire body warm up with love as I turned back to face a blushing Naruto.
"It's okay right..?" He asked worriedly as he rugged on the collar of his shirt. "It's not too much is it?" "Its perfect... Thank you.." Naruto's grin lit up his face more than any Christmas lights ever could and the image was extremely contagious. He quickly walked me over to my seat and pulled the chair out for me. I blushed as I realized he was trying to be romantic and quickly sat down, trying to calm my rapidly beating heart. "So I have to be honest." Naruto sighed as he reached through the back door and pulled out some kind of tray. "I didn't cook this by myself. Sakura helped a lot. She's an amazing cook." I couldn't help but giggle as he took his seat and placed the platter on the table. "Did she threaten to hit you or something if you didn't say that?" "Stab." "Huh..?" "She threatened to stab me..." "Ah..."
Naruto and I enjoyed lots of small chit chat as we ate our meal. As hard as it was to believe we didn't have a single awkward moment. It seemed like we always had something to say to each other and when there was a moment of silence it was peaceful, not uncomfortable. At one point he and I were even playing footsies under the table, but we refused to acknowledge it was happening. After our meals were done Naruto surprised me by bringing out a large box of chocolates and placing it in my hands. "Its time to play chocolate roulette." He said with a smirk as he sat back down across from me.
"Chocolate roulette? What's that?" "You pick a random chocolate and try it, but you only get to see what it is after you've eaten the whole thing." "The whole thing..? But what if its gross?" Naruto grinned at me causing my heart to flutter ridiculously fast. "That's the fun." My own grin slowly crept on my face as I opened up the box. "Alright I'm in but these better not make me sick." "Its chocolate. How bad could it be?" The two of us spent the next 10 minutes spitting chocolates into napkins and laughing at each others grossed out expressions. It couldn't have been more romantic.
Like the gentlemen he was trying so hard to be, at the end of the night Naruto walked me to my front door and paused. "Here we are." He chuckled as he shoved his hands in his pockets. I assumed that he found this amusing because of what he had said the other day at school. I tried to hide my embarrassment and smiled up at him. "Here we are..." Naruto held my gaze steadily for a moment, it almost seemed as if he was asking for my permission. He obviously didn't need it. "I'm just gonna go for it." He breathed out as he began to lean forward.
I let my eyes flutter closed as his warm lips pressed up against my own. It was a simple kiss, nothing hot or heavy, just a sweet, loving kiss. At some point I had wrapped my arms around his neck causing him to wrap his own arms around my waist. We each other tightly as our lips moved in sync. I felt like I was floating on cloud 9, I never wanted it to end, but sadly I knew it had too. If we let things get too far so soon we might end up regretting it later. Almost as if Naruto had been thinking the same thing, he pulled his head back and sighed.
"I guess I should have waited for this to have been our first kiss.." "I'm glad you didn't.." Naruto smiled down at me as he bumped our foreheads together. "Your so cute..." He lingered for a few more seconds before finally letting go of me and taking a step back. With nothing but a smile on his face, Naruto hopped down the porch steps and starting walking to his car. I watched him for a second before turning around and putting my hand on the door knob. "Oh hey!" I quickly turned back around to see Naruto grinning at me through his car window. "I sorta forgot to ask you something important." "Oh? And what's that?" The porch lights seemed to reflect in his eyes as he spoke. "Will you be my boyfriend?"
