And so the tormenting carried on, much like that, for weeks. Little bumps or touches to his arms or sides when she would glide by, and, if she could manage, trapping him alone, even if for just a few seconds, all to feed her own vanity. She took the time now to ask him exactly what he liked about her, teasing him with little outfits and asking him how she looked—not that she really wanted an answer, she just loved to watch him squirm and choke on his replies. Things, however, took an unexpected and intensified turn halfway into Kon's third week of torment.
Trina had him cornered behind the stairs, which was becoming fairly normal—normal enough for Kon to pull away from his discomfort to try and shake her nerves a little.
"Just—leave me alone already! I don't even like you—!" He lied, but if he hoped if he lied in a loud enough whisper that he'd scare her off. Trina did seem taken aback by him speaking out against her, but it unfortunately had the opposite effect of what he had intended. She closed the small gap between them, pressing her torso against him comfortably and wiggling into place.
"Don't lie, and stuff.." She pouted out her lip, drawing out the end of her sentence into a soft whine. Kon felt his body tense and then mentally hung his head in shame when she smiled right afterwards. "..Especially when you're so super really bad at it." She giggled, watching him fluster under her thumb.
"I'm.. not lying! I don't want.. this—you—whatever—!" Kon grabbed her shoulders and tried to push her back, startling her again. Trina frowned, unhappy with this abrasive side her usually painfully awkward victim was showing. She easily slipped her shoulders out of his hands and slid her arms around his neck in a single fluid motion, pressing up against him again.
"Stop it, or whatever.." She stood up on her tiptoes to bump her nose to his. "I don't like it." Kon's face burned at her hushed voice, the close proximity of their faces, and especially her big, sad eyes staring up at him past his nose. His knees wiggled, threatening to buckle from the pressure of not turning into goo at her touch. Despite his knees concerns, Kon managed to place his hands on her hips, intent on pushing her away again once he got the nerve. Trina's eyebrow flicked up in irritation—she had had just about enough of his resistance today. She took a small step forward, settling her hips against his and placing her hands on either side of his face. Before he could react, Kon felt Trina draw his face into her's, pressing a kiss to his lips.
Immediately, he released his hands from her hips, tensing them in midair at her sides. His mind couldn't move fast enough to process what she was doing, and by the time it registered, she was pulling away. She smiled at him, smug and coy as always, while gently dragging her hand down from his collar to his chest. Kon swallowed, immobilized from her kiss. Trina snickered at him, all too happy to have control again. She gripped his shirt in her fist, pulling him in closer.
"Don't like, push me, ever." Her voice was warning, but was tinted with playfulness. "Okay?" She smiled again.
"Uh.. o-okay.." Kon couldn't keep his voice steady. She laughed and let go of his shirt, rounding around to the stairs—she knew he couldn't resist a kiss from her.
Kon listened to her head upstairs and close the hall door to her room before he let himself breathe. He pressed against the back of the staircase and held his forehead, eyes darting around the carpet. His mind couldn't fully wrap around the fact that Trina kissed him—on the mouth. After a few minutes of replaying the kiss in his head over and over, a dumb smile spread over his face. He had never kissed a girl before—and, he couldn't lie—as a kid he had always dreamed of Trina being his first kiss; and now she was. He inhaled a long breath through his nose before happily sighing it out again. Kon rubbed the back of his head, unsure about his past anxiety being replaced with little butterflies, but it felt too nice to be upset about.
He kept his big, goofy grin all the way back to the garage, where the band had apparently not taken notice of how long he had been missing. He plopped down on the couch, tossing chips in his mouth and blissfully daydreaming.
Trina squeezed her pillow, giggling and kicking her legs while she waited for Mina to arrive. She loved the rush that came with taunting, and as of recent, controlling Kon. She'd never held power like that over any guys before, or really anyone but Mina. She rested her head on her pillow and wondered why for a split second, before going back to excitedly kicking. To be honest, she hadn't kissed anyone in a long while—maybe even months. She sighed in anguish at remembering how Nick Mallory had moved to a lake town an hour or two up the mountains for college, leaving her stranded with all the second-rate men in this town. Dating them had become too painful, and painfully boring, for her to even bother anymore—but teasing and kissing them could be fun at least. Trina gripped her pillow, purring a little at the future prospects.
"Hey Trina!" Mina popped into her room, out of breath. "I'm here!" Trina groaned and sat up, still hugging her pillow.
"Yeah, I can see that Mina." She rolled her eyes. "What took you so long!" She stared at her accusingly. Mina gulped, shrugging her shoulders up.
"S-sorry Trina, I can only run so fast."
"Well like, run faster next time." Trina turned up her nose before falling back onto her bed in a fit of giggles. Mina smiled—she hadn't seen her BFF as happy as she was these past weeks since before Nick had left Peaceville. She took a seat next to the bed, letting Trina finish her joy spasm.
"Boy Trina, you're sure in a good mood today." Mina smiled more, clasping her hands.
"HEE HEE HEE—Of course I am—" She rolled over and crouched down on her knees with a mischievous smile painted on her lips. "—I kissed him today." Trina's smiled curled up more as she whispered to her BFF. Mina gasped, watching in shock as her best friend rolled around on the bed again.
"K-kissed? Kon? Trina, I don't th—"
"GOD I haven't kissed in forever." Trina sighed, silently excluding her Nick Mallory cut-out and pillow. "I almost forgot what it feels like."
"B-but.. it's Kon!" Mina tapped her fingers together, shrinking under Trina's angry stare.
"SO!?" Trina frowned more, staring at her harder.
"U-um, well. I just—he's a gross guy.. in your brother's band.. I thought you didn't like—"
"AUGH I don't have to like him to kiss him, Mina! Go like, buy a TV Guide or whatever and get with the program already." Trina sat up and fluffed her hair before going to her mirror again. She rolled her eyes at Mina's quiet, fumbling apology—she should have known better than to expect Mina to understand what it's like to have control over anything except maybe her cat. "It's whatever, Mins." She closed her eyes, retying her hair back in a high ponytail. Mina relaxed a little behind her, without her taking any notice.
"Well, I guess the most important thing is that you're having fun, Trina!" Mina smiled, holding her hands to her chest. Trina squealed, spinning around.
"Oh, I am Minsky!" She giggled and jumped back onto her bed, grabbing her diary and happily scribbling down her feelings from today's success.
Kon sighed happily again, resting in bed with his arms behind his head. He couldn't sleep worth a darn, but he was too smitten to be bothered by it anyway. He closed his eyes and smiled the big, stupid smile he had been smiling since this afternoon, remembering for probably the hundredth time the feeling of Trina's soft lips on his, and the way her arms felt around his neck. He sighed again—she was so wonderful. Kon opened his eyes, shifting a little; if only she really liked him, he thought. He giggled at the thought.
He wondered for a moment if maybe she did, the way she held his face in her hands when she kissed him, but he knew she didn't. She was a great actress, Kon reminded himself, and she could easily fake affection for anyone. Still, he never thought she'd go as far to kiss him to keep him around to toy with—it was a little more than exciting to be that valuable to her. He wasn't sure what was so special about him particularly, there we tons of guys in Peaceville that would fall prey to the same treatment from her. Kon sucked on one side of his bottom lip in thought—maybe she liked to see him squirm from being torn about the whole situation? She knew he was apprehensive about her flirting because he didn't want Corey, or the rest of the band, to find out about his feelings for her, and he refused to act on her interest for the same reason. She sure was sadistic, he nodded, but she was still wonderful.
Kon drummed his hands on his stomach, smiling wider—he hadn't been in this good of a mood for weeks. The band had noticed too, watching him eat chips and chuckle every so often. Laney had commented first, happy to see him 'back to his old self', and then Kin added on in agreement; Corey, on the other hand, hadn't really noticed it seemed. Kon laughed at that, thankful as of recent that Corey wasn't the suspicious, or aware-of-his-surroundings, type.
It didn't take more than a few minutes before his mind went back to the memory of kissing Trina, making him bubble up with giggles again. He wanted to be mad at himself for thinking so much about her, but he couldn't when the thought of her gave him such warm fuzzies. Kon sighed through his nose, happy to finally be rid of his past anxieties. He knew, however, that this secret tormenting couldn't last forever—at least, he didn't think so. He papped his stomach again, weighing out his options; he could ride out whatever-this-was-to-Trina for as long as it goes, but that seemed kind of nasty to him, now that he was more-or-less enjoying it. He could cut off ties with her, but he'd already tried that, and that got him a kiss—which honestly, he wasn't minding either but that also seemed nasty to do. He blinked, the thought of a third option having not hit him until now—He supposed, the most honest thing he could do, was consent to this whole mess. The idea of showing his true feelings to her made his stomach do a backflip, but he was still smiling somehow. Kon wondered how she would react if he planted a kiss on her lips.. probably not the way he had, he guessed, laughing nervously. But as long as it stayed secret, he supposed he could stop resisting as much as he had been in the past—worst case scenario she finally leaves him alone.
A/N: Phew! Finally got to the kiss! It's all downhill from here kiddies (kidding). Next one coming really soon—it's finally picking up speed! R&R if you've got time uwu/ S2G the next one will be ACTUALLY LONG.. I swear
