~His Favorite Color is Violet~

He is just one orphan out of thousands in the city of New Domino. His parents died and he was left without a home or a caretaker. He has to scavenge for food in the trashcans or from a tourist feeling pity for him and giving him their last sandwich. He has to steal clothes that were hung on clotheslines no matter how much he hates stealing. He lived in several cardboard boxes in the past, and even underneath terraces and balconies until some angry adults chase him away. He was worthless.

So why-why?-when the rain stop pelting him, when he looked up in confusion, when he saw a blonde-haired teen with an umbrella over his head, when his cobalt eyes met a pair of violets...

Why did he choose me?

"There you go," the blonde teen said, rubbing a towel over the younger boy's head. "You're all nice and clean." He uses one of his hands to lift the child's chin, causing deep cobalt eyes to stare into bright violet eyes. "Now that wasn't so bad, was it?"

The boy shook his head, as if to say "no" before looking around the bedroom in slight awe.

The walls had a light, purple tint to it while the room contained a king-sized bed with a white comforter and pillows, matching dresser and cabinets, a desk littered with papers and books and an expensive laptop resting on the surface, an H-D television hooked up to the wall along with various consoles and games , and two does that lead to a walk-in closet the size of the alley he had lived in and a bathroom so luxurious he almost cried from the sheer impact of where he was.

His cheeks still flushed in embarrassment, remembering that he had accidently caused Jack to fall into the Jacuzzi-like tub when he felt the warm water reach up to his chest.

He looked up when he heard jack hum, blushing a little when he lowered his eyes away from the blonde's intense gaze. "So you really are that boy…"

Said boy looked up in confusion. "What?" he said in a tiny, tinkling voice.

The teen smiled, causing the boy's heart to beat faster. "Sometimes I would see you walk around the park, staring at the parents playing with their children or families enjoying their picnics. You always had this sad look on this face, as if you wanted to be a part of that." Jack's smile disappears. "Tell me… are you an orphan?"

Too embarrassed, he nods.

"I see…" the blonde murmurs, not realizing his hands were still on the boy's head until Jack hears him squeak. He looks down, seeing the boy's face flush red and chuckles, removing the towel-

POOF!

And stared at the spikey-hairstyle poofing up into the boy's original hairstyle.

Two pairs of eyes stare at each other.

The blonde bowed a little, his body shaking, and threw his head back with laughter. Soon after, the younger boy's lips twitched into a smile before following suit, his face flushed with laughter. It was like that for a while, the two boys sharing laughs from the sudden scene. Soon, their laughs turned into chuckles, smiles staying on their faces. Then the blonde took the raven-haired boy's hands, lightly giving it a squeeze. "Let me introduce myself. My name is Jack Atlas. What is your name?"

The younger boy only stares, his eyes wide as he looks at the smiling blonde. Then, with a shaking hand, places it over the blonde's with a small grip. "Yusei."

"'Yusei'," he shivers when he hears the older boy repeat his name, but doesn't understand why. "Well, Yusei, why don't we go into the kitchen and fix you something to eat. You must be starving."

On cue, a small growl emerges from Yusei's stomach, who flushes while Jack chuckles. He then stands up and picks Yusei up, causing the smaller boy to yelp in surprise. Then Jacks heads toward the kitchen, Yusei on his hips. Said boy could only grip Jack's shoulders, his heart beating fast from the unfamiliar yet nostalgic feel of arms wrapping around him. He closes his eyes, letting the strange familiar feeling of safety wash over him, listening to Jack's heart beating, the sound as soothing as a lullaby.

So it startles him when Jack places him on a cold stool, snapping him out of his daze. He snaps his eyes open to see Jack searching the fridge and lets his eyes wander around the room. Apparently, the kitchen was just as fancy as Jack's room, as the room contained all of the latest kitchen appliances, and was also connected to the living room, which was just as fancy as the other rooms.

But… it didn't feel…homey.

"Here you go," he looks back to see Jack place a plate of something…red. "It's not much, since the maids made it two days ago, but it's still good." His confusion must have shown on his face as Jack takes a fork from somewhere, scoops up some of the food, and hovers it across his mouth. "Don't be shy now, it's just spaghetti. It's good~!"

He opens his mouth, ready to say "No thanks" only for the fork to be plunged into his mouth. Instantly, the taste of tomatoes and spices touch his tongue, and he could not hold in the moan as he closes his eyes, chewing the food and savoring the taste. It was so good

"I told you, didn't I?" Yusei opens his eyes to see Jack with a smug smile as he removes the fork and twirls it in the noodles. "Don't worry, there's more where that came from."

As Jack continues to feed Yusei; as Jack dresses Yusei in size too-big pajamas; as Jack and Yusei are about to fall asleep in the teen's bed; as Jack says goodnight to Yusei… the little boy couldn't help but think, black, blue and gold…they may be my favorite colors… but I think I can make some room for violet.

~*(*)*~

When a maid came to wake Jack up the next morning, she will awe as the little boy with strangely spiked hair curled up against her young master, while the teen had his arms around the smaller boy.

With smiles on both of their faces.
