…
"Kendall answer the phone."
…
"Kendall pick up the damn phone!"
…
"Call me back you asshole!"
…
"Kendall, love, call me back."
…
"Answer the phone."
…
"Kendall. Please."
…
"Love, it's okay. Just talk to me."
…
"I love you."
…
"Call me back when you can I guess."
…
"Why didn't you tell me?"
…
"Am I really gonna see you after summer ends?"
…
"Where are you moving to?"
…
"I miss you."
…
"I hope you're enjoying your summer."
…
"I bought a motorcycle. I hope I can take you for a ride sometime."
…
"I love you. I think I already left that in a message, but I just wanted to say it again."
…
"I was upset that you didn't tell me, but I bet I know why. I have a bit of a temper, I know. But I want you to know that you never have any reason to fear me Kendall. I love you. I hope I hear from you soon."
Logan ended the call and threw down his phone, a groan escaping him as he flopped onto his bed.
"How many messages have you left him?" James asked, leaning against the doorframe. Logan turned his face so he could see him and sighed sadly.
"I lost count." James shook his head and chuckled lightly. "What am I gonna do?"
"You're gonna get up," James said, tugging on his brother's arm, "And then you're gonna go on, and enjoy your summer. Moping here, missing him, won't change the fact that he's still moving and gone all summer. You just have to wait, and see what happens."
"What happened to you? You've been moping for Carlos and then suddenly you just… cheered up."
"A few weeks ago… I saw Carlos at the mall. I kissed him."
"What?! James-"
"He kissed back. He still loves me. So I'm holding out hope that we'll get back together sometime."
"What about Brandon?"
"I told him. And he told me that if I want to wait for Carlos, then he'll wait with me."
"Wow."
"Yeah," James said, a light smile on his lips. "So I believe that Carlos will come back to me like Kendall will come back to you. So stop moping." Logan smiled a bit and sat up.
"You're right."
"Of course I am."
…
Kendall looked at his phone before he tossed it across the room. Moving to his dresser, he pulled out his clothes, surprised at the effort it took to get his pants on. Groaning, he slammed his head against the wall.
"Big Brother, you okay?" Katie asked, popping her head into his room, her mouth falling open as she stared at him. "What the hell happened to you?"
"Don't cuss," he said, looking at her. She just eyed him and he sighed. "And I'm not sure."
"Aunt Julie, Kendall's gonna need new clothes again!"
…
Carlos was sitting at a park bench, his leg bouncing in anticipation. August was just around the corner, which meant school would be starting back up before he knew it.
And there was something he had to do before that happened.
"Hey you," Miles said, coming to sit next to him. Carlos gave him a strained smile, instantly putting the older man on guard. "What is it?"
"Miles… I just…" Carlos shook his head and looked at his lap. Miles lifted his face and looked at him.
"What's wrong Carlos?"
"I still love him," Carlos whispered, seeing the resignation in Miles's eyes.
"I know."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. I knew going into this you belonged to him." Miles surprised Carlos by kissing him softly. "Remember, you're beautiful. I know he'll think you are too." Carlos blushed and hugged Miles, who patted his head. "I hope we're still friends."
"Of course we are."
…
"James…" Brandon started out nervously, wringing his hands together.
"What's up?"
"School's starting soon enough and… I know you and Carlos are gonna get back together soon and I kinda… I was wondering if we could… can we… ya know…?"
"Oh… oh. You want…"
"Yeah. I mean… could we?"
"I guess…Sure, why not."
...
James groaned as he gripped Brandon's hips as he thrust up into him. Brandon let out a pleasured moan as he moved himself in James's lap. James leaned up a bit and kissed Brandon softly as the two of them continued to move together. James began to push holder as Brandon gripped his shoulders roughly.
"God, James," he muttered, pressing his lips to his shoulder so he could stop from crying out. James gripped a little tighter as he bit his lip.
"Carlos!" he cried out as he came, his breath hitching in his chest as Brandon let out a cry as he came too. James pulled out and Brandon fell next to him, panting deeply. "I'm sorry," James said softly once he caught his breath.
"Don't be," Brandon said, looking at him. "I enjoyed it, even if…"
"Still. I'm sorry."
"It's okay. Really. I'm just glad that I finally got to do that with you." Brandon grinned softly and snuggled up close to James. "Can I sleep here tonight?"
"Sure."
…
Carlos looked at his calendar. In just a few weeks, school would be back in session, and he would be seeing James every day.
And if that was going to happen, then he wanted it to be in the right way. Pulling out his phone, he called a number that he never had the heart to delete.
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Carlos… you wanna meet up for lunch?"
"I'd love to."
…
James walked into the diner, his heart racing as he saw Carlos sitting at the counter, his back to the door. He moved closer to him and placed a steady hand on his shoulder.
"Hi." Carlos looked up and grinned at him.
"Hi." They just looked at each other for a minute before James sat down next to him.
"So…"
"I've been an idiot haven't I?" Carlos asked, making James chuckle.
"Yeah, a bit. But I love that about you." Carlos blushed and reached a hand out to run his fingers over the scars still on James's cheek.
"I'm sorry." James just shrugged and captured Carlos's hand with his, lightly kissing his fingertips. Carlos blushed again and James chuckled.
"Come back to me Carlos. I love you."
"…" Carlos opened his mouth, but no words seemed to come to him.
"Carlos?"
"I love you too," he finally said, making James give him a wide grin before he moved closer and pressed a loving kiss to his lips.
"I've missed you."
"I've missed you too."
…
Kendall stared at his phone.
Logan had left him a message practically every day this summer, and now…
It was time for school to start back up.
How had the summer passed so fast?
And how had so much happened to him?
He stared at his hand; of course, it looked like his hand, but it also looked so different.
What a summer this had been…
"Kendall, your mom is here." Kendall looked at Aunt Julie, who grinned lightly at him; he returned the smile and reached down to grab his suitcases. He made his way to the living room, where his mom and Katie were talking.
"You ready to go home?"
"I guess… Although it's not gonna be home to me," he said, making her shake her head.
"You look good Kendall," is all she said to him, making him shrug.
"Let's just go."
…
Kendall gaped as they pulled up in front of their new home. He turned to his mom, who was grinning at him, obviously pleased with herself.
"Mom… this is…" She giggled at him as he launched across the small car and hugged her awkwardly. "Thank you."
"I told you you would like it."
…
Aww, see, it's all gonna work out I think.
We'll see won't we?
I hope this one was good!
Thanks for reading and have a safe and happy new year.
