I'm very sorry that I didn't get the chance to write the next chapter in the story yet I've been busy at work. Here is the next chapter, and the last one but don't worry there will be an epilogue to this one. Also I don't own the Hunger Games trilogy.

Chapter 20: The curse is broken

Peeta

Katniss gave me a kiss that was so passionate and loving that I started to feel weird from it. I began to glow as I heard my Katniss say "Peeta what's happening to you. You're glowing all over." After a while the glowing stopped and I went to the window to see if it was either night fall or morning. I noticed that the sun was setting which I only figured that I had to see if what was happening to me was true. So I toke off the amulet and I noticed that nothing happened to me. I looked over to Katniss as I said "I'm not a wolf anymore! Katniss you did it, you broke the curse on me. Oh Katniss" I ran to her as I grabbed her around her waist and spin us around as we both laughed with such happiness.

As then there was a knock coming from the door? We stopped spinning as we both looked at the door as I heard Katniss say "Come in." There standing before us was a fairy with a green dress with a medieval style, and her hair was red with green beads in the headdress to it. I put Katniss down as I said "Who are you, and what is it that you want here?" She only smiled at us as she said "I'm Ellie the forest fairy, and the head fairy to all other fairies. Now this is how it should have ended all along." She walked up to us and put her hands on both of us; as she said "Peeta the kiss that Katniss gave you fully broke the curse with the love she feels for you, and now you'll be able to be with her forever as you had hoped all along. As for you Katniss, even though you had lost your way from Snow's evil spell you were able to come back to Peeta along. So now you'll have you're happily ever after now. Which may I give you my blessing of your true happiness?" I looked at Katniss as I smiled at her, and she smiled at me as we got close to each other. I held to her to my side as I leaned into her I whispered "May I ask you something again?"

She smiled as I left her side and got down on one knee. I looked up to her as I said "Princess Katniss Everdeen will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" As then I see her look into my eyes as she smiled the most beautiful smile that I have never seen before. She then spoke in a sweet tone "Of course I will Peeta Mellark." As then a ring appeared in my hand as I looked at Ellie; she nods at me as I put the ring on Katniss's ring finger that once had Snow's, but now has mine. I get up as I pick up Katniss as we both laugh with happiness as we know that nothing will come between us ever again. Ellie smiled as she spoke to only to Cinna which we didn't know he was there "Let's give them some alone time." As then they both left us alone, and we just continued to enjoy our happiness together. As I said "May I have this dance?" She only giggled as we started to dance around the room.

Katniss

I looked into his eyes as we danced around the room, and I spoke softly "You know I feel like the happiest person in this room right now" he smiled at be for only a second as then a sad smile was placed on his face as I said "Is something wrong? You seemed bothered about something" it was then I realized that Peeta was thinking about his mother. Peeta looked at me as he replied back to me with "I know that my mother was working with Snow earlier before we came to this palace, but she has redeemed herself because of it. I just feel like we need to do something about it, since she died trying to save you." I looked at him lovingly as I said "Why don't we give your mother a good burial? Like you said she has proved herself to us, and I don't see why we shouldn't." Peeta smiled at me as he whispered out "Thank you Katniss" as then we went out of the room and told everyone that we would have a funeral for Peeta's mother.

We were outside of the palace with everyone present to see Peeta's mother Queen Mellark off. There was a casket that held Queen Mellark's body in and Ellie the forest fairy stood in front of it to start the burial. Ellie spoke kindly "Welcome to one and all for we are here to bury the once Queen Mellark. Even though she has lost her way from us by helping Snow try to get to Prince Peeta and Princess Katniss. But she has found her way back to her own son and was able to repent for her sins for helping Snow. Now we pray that she has found peace and the holy lands with her husband and two sons besides Peeta. Would anyone like to say anything else to our dearly departed Queen Mellark?" Everyone was quite, but Peeta came up to Ellie as he said his words of goodbye. Peeta spoke for the next "Mother you might have lost your way, and you tried to tell me that you wanted to change your ways when you came back here to the palace. But I didn't want to believe you at first and now that you're gone I wish. . ." I came up from behind him and put my hand on his shoulder as we let him continued. Peeta continued again "I wished that I could have told you that I had forgiven you for everything that you had done to both Katniss and I. You helped me save Katniss, and thank you for everything mother. I also just wanted to say that I love you very much mother" as then Peeta turned around to me as then he hugged me.

After a while of letting people of saying things about Queen Mellark we all watched Ellie put Queen Mellark in the ground. I looked at Peeta as I said "Are you okay Peeta? I know that your mother is gone and" as then Peeta smiled at me as he said "I'm just glad that we got to give my mother a proper barrel. I would like to think that she heard what I said earlier" as then I replied back with "I really believe she did, and I know that she'll be at our wedding in spirit Peeta." We finally turned around as we headed back to the palace to finally enjoy our lives together along with our family that was waiting inside.
