AN: So, I realized that I already had a bunch of chapters of this fic posted on another site, and I never posted them here. I don't know if anyone still want to read this, but if I get enough positive response, I'll continue posting the chapters.

"O'Hara, come to my office," Chief Vick ordered.

Juliet sighed Does she know that it wasn't me that called in? Maybe she heard that I was drunk- don't worry Juliet, you're fine. She doesn't suspect anything. "Hi, Chief.

"Close the door," Juliet obeyed. "Detective, how- how are you doing?"

"Um, fine," she questioned, "Is there something wrong?"

"That's what I was going to ask you. You seem quite- out of it, if I may say. Not- not on top of your game. Is there anything distracting you? Do you need any help?"

Juliet blushed at the thought of Chief helping her with her love life. "No, chief, I'm fine. Thank you."

"Ok," Chief Vick replied, with quite a big hunch at what could be bothering her junior detective, but it wasn't her place to say. For awhile she was afraid of Mr. Spencer seducing her young and emotionally innocent detective, like he did almost every girl he met. But besides a little innocent flirting, he didn't make a move on her. She could see that he treated Juliet differently than any other girl. She also noticed the moments when Juliet would let her guard down, that she was slowly falling in love with him. Juliet would never admit it, but the chief could see it in her eyes and when she would unconsciously smile at Shawn.

"Oh, and detective?"

"Yes?"

"I am hosting party next Saturday evening at my house, a celebration for a successful year. Everyone will be there, even my bosses, and possibly the mayor. Can you help me spread the word around the department?"

"Sure."

"Ok, you're done."

"Thanks."

….

Juliet sat at her desk and sighed at the stacks of paper around her, it was going to take her all night to finish. Might as well start now

"I don't understand why someone would order a caesar salad pizza, it's so unnatural. Pizza and salad are two very opposite things, not meant to be mixed. That's like mixing peanut butter and jelly."

Juliet's eyes darted up when she heard the familiar voice, momentarily connecting with his. She looked down and blushed, this was it, he was going to mention her drunken phone call and embarrass her. Great just what I need.

"Shawn, they do go together, people order pizza and salad all the time. And you eat at least one peanut butter and jelly sandwich a day."

"Do not."

"Do too."

"Hey, Jules!"

Oh, no. Here it comes. "Hey," she said as she kept her eyes focused on her computer, "What's up?"

"Well I censed that Chief may have a case for us now that my arm has healed," he smiled genuinely.

She looked up, shocked that he didn't bring it up. "Your sling is gone," she smiled back.

"Yeah, I-"

"Good, you're here, Guster, Spencer come in my office."

"Hey, Shawn," Juliet stopped him as he and Gus turned towards Chief's office.

"Go ahead," he motioned Gus toward Chief's office, "Yeah," he asked Juliet.

"Thanks," she smiled.

"For what," he smiled back as he turned away, knowingly.

…..

"Mr. Spencer, your doctor faxed me, and I will be able to assign you cases again next week."

"Ok. Why did you need us to come down here?"

"Well, I am planning a party for next Saturday and could use your- expertise to help me plan."

"Now that's cheating."

"Mr. Spencer," Chief warned.

"Right. What do you need," Shawn smiled.

"I love not having Spencer around."

"Aw, Come on Lassiter, you know you miss him."

"You're right O'Hara, it is nice having a monkey jumping off the walls, messing everything up, and just annoying the hell out of me. He's the reason why people shouldn't reproduce."

Juliet couldn't help but laugh. "I don't know, he always seems to be right though, in the end."

"What now O'Hara, are you falling in love with the baboon," he regretted saying it halfway through. The fact was he knew that O'Hara was falling for Spencer, and he knew she didn't want to. She had been trying so hard, and lasted a good year or two, but in the end Spencer even won her heart. How the hell does he do it? Why can he get any girl as unstable as he is, and no one will even look at me? That's another thing that made him want to wring Spencer's neck, he took all that time seducing her, and then when she finally fell for him, he went off with another chick. No one messes with his partner.

"Lassie, is your hair shorter or your ears bigger? I can't tell."

"Speak of the devil," Juliet giggled.

"Spencer, what are you doing here?"

"Chief called me in, official business."

"You don't have us fooled, we know you're just her party planner."

"No, Lassie, I'm here party DIVINER."

"Mr. Spencer," Chief called.

"Right. Hey Jules?"

"Yeah?"

"Hey, listen," he pulled her away, "are you ok? I wanted to ask you the other day when I was here, but everyone was around."

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" Juliet nodded in response. "Ok. If you need anything, ANYTHING, let me know."

Juliet smiled, "Thanks."

Shawn smiled back, "That includes someone to play word games with at 5 am."
