AN: These chapters are from 2 years ago. I am literally C&Ping them in. I am sorry if my grammar sucks in these... I never used to care.

"Mr. Spencer, Mr. Guster, Ms. Lytar." Chief exclaimed as she opened her door to three more party guests.

"Hi Chief, the party looks great!"

"I really have to thank you Mr. Spencer, this party is amazing. I wouldn't have been able to make it such a hit. Even my boss is trying to get groovy."

"It was nothing. I love being able to make the department-" Shawn's gaze found Juliet. She was wearing a knee-length, spaghetti-strap dress, which matched her eyes perfectly. She looked amazing, except her facial expression that seemed miserable. Gus elbowed Shawn. "Happy. I'm sorry, I spaced out for a second."

"Were the spirits talking to you Mr. Spencer?"

"Uh- yeah. They were just telling me I'm going to have a great time tonight," Shawn forced a smile and cautiously glanced down at Abigail to make sure she hadn't noticed.

"I hope you do. The food and drinks are in the kitchen to the left and- oh," Chief went to look for the source of a loud crashing sound, "Oh, Mr. Spencer can you show them around while I take care of this," Chief asked, referencing the punch that her daughter happened to push onto the ground.

"Yep."

"Thanks for the invitation," Abigail added, as she wrapped her arm around Shawn, "Come on Shawn, let's dance!"

Shawn allowed her to lead him to the music emanating from the living room, and began spinning her around to the music, which made her laugh like a schoolgirl. Resting his hand on the small of her back and taking her face in the other, he whispered, "You look absolutely amazing tonight."

"You don't look half bad yourself."

"Half bad?"

"Well, I like you much better in your natural state- without clothes," she smiled coyly.

"I can arrange that," he replied, when he looked up and saw Juliet's cup fall to the ground. She blushed and tried to avoid his eyes. She had definitely been eavesdropping. "Hey look, there's Jules. Let's go say hi."

"Are you sure Shawn? I sometimes get the feeling that she doesn't like me."

"Nonsense, she's just shy. She likes literally everybody. I think you'd have to be worse than Stalin for her to dislike you."

"So like Hitler?"

"I think after she arrested Hitler, she'd still be able to make friends with him."

"That's talent."

"Hey Jules! Her let me help you with that."

"Oh, no. It's ok, I have it," she ensured him, but he helped anyway, "Thanks."

"No problem."

"Hi, Abigail. How are you," Juliet forced herself to ask.

"Great. Thanks."

Juliet forced a smile in response, "So, Shawn, this party looks great. Congrats!"

"Oh, it was nothing. It took like two seconds."

"Shawn, you spent the last week working on this," Abigail challenged.

"Abby, I stretch the truth to make you look good, the least you could do is support me."

Both of the girls laughed in response. It was typical Shawn. The music then changed over to 'Boom Boom Pow.'

"Oh, Abz, this is my song. Come on, let's break out my new dance moves."

"Oh, boy."

"See you Jules," Shawn smiled at her, almost questioningly.

Juliet drew in a deep breath, closed her eyes, and nodded slightly in response.

Oh my God! Does he know I was listening? Come on, Juliet. Get over yourself, why would he even think twice about anything you've done when he has her? He was just being a nice guy and helped you when he heard you drop your cup. Ok, you need to stop obsessing-

"Are you ok? You seem- flustered."

"I'm sorry," Juliet questioned, still caught up in her thoughts.

"Juliet O'Hara, right?"

"Yes. How do you know that?"

"It's my job to know that. It's my job to know everything about the SBPD and their beautiful employees."

"Oh," Juliet blushed.

"Here, how about I get you a new drink, since you dropped yours."

"Oh, you don't have to."

"I want to."

"But I don't even know your name," Juliet interjected coyly, "I'm in the police business, how do you expect me to trust you when you have one up on me?" where on Earth is this coming from

"Fair enough. My name is Richard Potentia, now may I get you a new drink?"

"If I may accompany you," Juliet smiled as she took on his dark brown hair and eyes. He definitely has tall, dark, and handsome covered. Juliet-what are you doing? Trying to get over Shawn, what I've been trying to do for months now. You're not ready. I am ready- plus it's not like I'm marrying this guy, it's just a conversation. "So, tell me something about yourself, Richard."

"What do you want to know?"

"Well, besides learning everything about me, what do you do?"

"As in my chosen profession?"

"Yes."

"Can I skip that question?"

"Are you going to skip all the questions?"

"No, I promise."

"Then we can skip it- for now," Juliet smiled genuinely for the first time in awhile, "Do you have any hobbies or play any sports?"

"Well, I used to play football back in college, but it was always my dream to work for the government, so I quit after college. So now, my sports basically consist of morning jogs, which is not a sport."

Juliet laughed. Wow, another football player and someone to go jogging with in the mornings. It would be nice to fill the silence that my iPod just can't. Wait. Don't get ahead of yourself. You need to calm down.

Richard handed her a new drink, "As far as hobbies go- I enjoy reading, bowling, and –don't laugh- playing Scrabble."

Juliet was amazed. She had never met another person who she had so much in common with. "Wait a minute," she questioned, "Are you just saying all this because you read my file?"

"What?"

"Playing Scrabble, reading, bowling, football players- are you just saying all this because you know that's what I like, from your- research on me?"

"No? Research? Our files don't contain what type of men/women each person is interested in."

"Who said I was interested in you?"

"You just-" he cleared his throat, "Are you?"

"We'll see," Juliet replied coyly. Even she was surprised with herself.

"Dance with me?"

"Sure," she smiled, taking his hand and leading him to an open spot. The music was slow, and he placed his hand on the small of her back and set the other on her side, while she placed hers on his shoulders. She inhaled, nervous. She tried to focus on the music, allowing him to lead, but refusing to look him in the eyes. Why are you acting like a middle school girl? You shouldn't be nervous; this isn't your first dance. I know, but what if he kisses me? So? You've kissed many guys in your lifetime. It was ok when you were kissing Ethan. It wasn't ok, that's how I ended up drunk-dialing Shawn. Shawn…what about Shawn? Why do you care about what Shawn thinks of things, he shouldn't matter. You don't matter to him. She inhaled sharply, the last thought stung. She forced it out of her mind, she risked glancing up. As she did this, she caught Shawn's eyes again. This time it was he who looked miserable, but she forced him further out of her mind. It's not you who's hurting him. He is happy with Abigail. He doesn't care who you're with. She continued looking up until her eyes met Richards.

"You smell so lovely," he whispered in her ear.

She smiled, and before she knew it, his lips were caressing hers. At first she stood frozen, then she slowly began to reciprocate the kiss. That was until something flew into her side knocking her down.

"Shawn? Why the Hell did you do that," Abigail sneered at him, trying to get up off of Juliet.

Shawn had felt bad about it as soon as he did it. "I'm sorry, when I was spinning you, I was looking into your eyes and wasn't even watching where we were going. I'm really sorry to you too Jules. I really didn't mean it."

"You like being called Jules," Richard asked as he helped her off the floor.

"No," she said defensively.

Shawn gave her a questioning look, then looked at Richard. "Who are you?"

"This is Richard, Shawn. He's my date."

"I am?"

Juliet shot him a dirty look.

"I am."

"Date," Shawn asked.

"Yes, Shawn. Come on Richard, let's go over there, where we won't be run over," Juliet huffed.

Ignoring his hurt girlfriend, Shawn followed Juliet, "Juliet, I really am sorry-" he begged.

"Whatever, Shawn," she sighed, "It's fine."

Sulking, Shawn walked back to Abigail. "Shawn, what the Hell?"

"I'm sorry. Here, let's go to the bathroom and clean you up."

"Shawn, what's going on with you and her?"

"Going on? What are you talking about?"

Abigail looked at him in disbelief.

"Abz, really. There is nothing going on."

"Then why did you go and make sure she's ok before me, your girlfriend?"

"Because I thought you'd understand. She is pissed at me and I don't know why, I mean besides the fact that I can't dance-"

"Shawn-" she warned.

"Look, she's my best friend besides Gus, and I'm afraid I'm losing her."

Abigail looked like she was going to cry, "Do you promise that's all it is?"

Shawn took her in his arms and comforted her, "She's my best friend."

Juliet hid her face in Richard's shoulder as tears began to roll down her face, "I'm sorry."

"It's ok. It happens to the best of us. Let me guess, old flame?"

"No. Shawn and I are good friends."

"It doesn't sound like it."

"Lately, it's become more difficult."

"Then let's go. It doesn't matter where. Let's go to a movie."

"A movie?"

"Yeah, why not? Let's go."

"O-ok."

…..

"Goodnight, Juliet. I really enjoyed meeting you. You are such a joy to be around. Maybe we can do this again sometime?"

"I'd really like that."

"Good, then how about tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow?"

"Yeah. How about I pick you up at eight, and we'll go to dinner and a movie, and have a real date?"

"Alright."

"Ok?"

"Yes," she smiled, and then she met his glance, which was all of a sudden serious.

"I haven't felt this happy in a real long time. This feeling is addicting. You are not going to be any good for me." With that, he took her face in his hand and pulled her in for desperate kiss.

AN: I have 14 more chapters lined up, but it is not actually finished. I'll probably post 2two or three chapters a week. I'd really like feedback because this story went kind of dead because I got dreadfully stuck at chapter 24. If you have any at all, please review.
