Chapter Eight
There was another bang and Jade turned to see Crystal, Gray, Lucy, Wendy, and Ezra. Thank God they're here. I'm not sure I could have gotten out of her by myself. Especially, with that Samuel guy's magic. There's something weird about it. "Hey guys."
"Look Jade's okay!" Wendy pointed out.
"Well that's a relief." Lucy sighed.
"Great, she's fine. Who do I get to pound first?" Gray said cracking his knuckles.
Natsu grabbed Jacob's collar. "Trying to use magic for resurrection, eh? Tch, tch, tch, you should know that wouldn't work. Now, you picked a fight too big to fight."
Jacob chuckled before dispersing into the air. "We'll see about. It'll be fun with Fairy Tail, here." He was then gone.
"Jacob you bastard! Where are ya!?" Jade growled as she looked around.
"He's gone…" Wendy sighed.
"Alright Plan B, let's get to work." Ezra commanded. The group nodded.
Suddenly, there was a dark chuckle. "I'm surprise the great Titania would neglect an enemy during battle." It was Samuel.
The scarlet mage turned to look at him. "I didn't neglect you. I just don't see you as a big enough threat to consider." She said coldly.
"Why you little bitch-,"
"Don't worry, I want him." Jade interrupted with a smirk.
Ezra nodded. "Okay let's head out."
"I don't want to leave you." Crystal retorted.
Jade smiled. "It's okay. This is all gonna be find."
The gang disappeared out the room, and Jade turned to her opponent. "We're gonna has some fun, aren't we?"
Gajeel growled. "This stupid building is huge."
"Well this is Foster's headquarter for his work." Levy sighed.
"It's just a minor setback, for now we have to locate the machine and destroy it." Lily said sipping a juice box.
"Why do you have that?" Carla asked.
"I think it's smart." Happy said with his own box.
"Why?!" Carla shrieked from shocked.
"Let's pick up the pace. I don't think I can handle being lost in here for the next five minutes." Gajeel mumbled.
Levy nodded. "I agree, we don't want to delay the others." She said as she began running full speed, being down the hall in a split second. She turned and looked at her stunned comrades. "What?"
Gajeel's eyes were wide. "Wow shrimp, I didn't know you could run like that."
Levy smiled as she rocked on her heels. "Yea, I've been training, but now's not the time for compliments. We need to go."
The four nodded and joined her. "Aye sir." They chanted together.
He walked casually behind her—bored as hell. Juvia, Cana, and Laxus were supposed to stop all plans of a counter-attack. But now, they just roamed through the place. Things were slow; nothing was exciting—until they ran into an old woman.
She paused as she exited the room and turn towards the trio. She blinked her eyes twice. "Oh no Mr. Foster will not be happy with intruders. I must take care of you all."
Laxus laughed. "Look lady, no one wants to hurt you, so please just step aside and we'll spare you."
The woman shook her head. "You youngsters have such rude manners. I guess, I should introduce myself before I give you a painful lecture. I am Ms. Smith." Soon she suddenly transformed into a busty young, light brunette girl—which was clad in a tight red dress. "Valerie Smith."
"Jade Blueshepherd. I've heard a lot about you. You have a gift, being blessed with all that magic." Samuel replied.
I shook my head. "You are a strange man. But before I kick your ass, please tell me why you've agreed to work with my cousin."
Samuel laughed. "You don't understand what you're capable of doing, do you? With your power, you could easily take over this continent. I need you to get the only thing I simply wanted: power."
"Tch, you lecture me about the amount of power I have, yet you seem very confident about defeating me." I snapped back.
"True, but those who follow Jacob possess a great advantage against you fairies." Samuel replied.
I rolled my eyes. "And what would that be?"
"We control the level of magical power we have." Valerie giggled.
Laxus gritted his teeth. "That's not possible, you can't control it as if there is an unlimited supply just waiting for you."
Juvia shook her head. "There is something unsettling about these people."
Cana took out a few cards. "I don't have problem fighting someone with the likes of her. She holds no pride.
Valerie gasped. "How dare you?! I have much pride. I don't go around striding in such an immodest outfit."
"Yet you change your appearance into such a slutty form. Don't scold me old lady." Cana snapped back.
Ugh, cat fight. "Enough chat, Cana, Juvia do you want to take this one?" Laxus asked.
Cana smirked. "Go on the both of you. She's nothing I can't handle."
Juvia nodded. "If you insist,"
"Whatever, you better no screw up; I don't want to clean up after your mess." Laxus mumbled before bolting past the girl; Juvia did the same."
Valerie shrugged. "It'll be fun to see such a youthful soul crumble under her elder."
"You're on, grandma."
All of a sudden, Levy stopped running. Gajeel and everyone else nearly ran into her. "What is it shrimp?"
Levy turned back. "Don't you hear it?"
Now Gajeel wasn't a complete pride freak on his hearing abilities, but he knew something was up if she was hearing something he couldn't. "Shrimp, I'm not sure-,"
Levy cocked her head to the side. "But it's Jade-chan. Please let me show you." She asked.
"Gajeel should we…" Lily asked concern.
He shook his should. "For now, but we just follow, but be ready for anything." Gajeel whispered back. The other two Exceeds nodded. They went on following the girl.
She led them to large, wooden double doors. She froze. "Wait…this isn't right. Don't you here it?"
"Here what?! Are you sure you're not losing it!" Gajeel growled irritated.
"SShh! Everyone stop talking." Carla whispered. They listened. "I hear it. But what is it?"
Gajeel listened closer. "It sounds like a scratching record." Everyone agreed that had to be it.
Levy shook her head. "Oh no, I've led you to the enemy." Levy whispered shocked.
"Well now's not the time to feel guilty. In fact, I've been itching to beat on someone, so than you." Gajeel snickered before kicking down the door.
In the middle of room sat a man who, when he saw the group, smirked and turned off the record player. "Welcome."
Jade watched the man grow into a giant—seeming to have magic similar to Master Makarov. He was so close to the ceiling. Jade groaned. This isn't gonna be as easy as I thought.
She took a deep breath. "Roar of the Lightning Dragon." She called letting the huge sparks towards the man. That should have done something.
When the smoke clear, Samuel stood there—not even with a scratch. "Hehe, is that all you go child?" He then stomped his foot—causing the floor to start breaking under Jade's feet. She jumped high. Gosh, I could really use Crystal right now.
She grabbed onto the chandelier. She looked down. There's no stable ground to fight on…there's only one thing left to do…
"Come and get me, you big headed bastard!" she screamed at her opponent as she dropped from the chandelier and onto the broken ground, and began running.
She was fast, and Jade knew with all that weight he would be moving slow. She kept going at lightning speed trying to find a good place to hide, so she could come up with a plan. I can work this out.
"You have spunk." Valerie complimented.
"I don't have time for your compliments. I'll finish you off like that." Cana replied with a snap. She threw a card at the ground. "The Prayer's Fountain." She said as water soaked the girl.
"Tch, you ruined my outfit, but that's not how plan to defeat me is it?" the woman cried.
Cana chuckled. "Hehe, lightning's kinda the theme isn't it?" (A/N: Well, you know…) She then threw multiple cards down. "Jolt of Fate!" Multiple bolts hit the girl and left her burnt crisp. She then passed out and turned back into an old woman.
"Looks like all that beauty got the best of you." Cana snickered before taking a bottle out her bag and took a sip. She began walking away from her opponent. "I need to go find the rest."
"Hey, this is it! I think this is the door to the weapon." Wendy exclaimed.
"Okay, we need to take action." Natsu said.
"No, we should figure out a plan out something first." Ezra interjected.
"Let's just go. Gajeel and the rest are probably are on their way, so we can just leave it to them. Especially since Crystal went to join them." Gray retorted.
"Maybe we should plan, first." Lucy added. Ezra groaned. The stakes are too high for me to just sit here and ponder like this. What do we do?
"What do you want?" Lily growled.
"Aw, is the poor kitty mad?" the man chuckled. "How cute." He smirked.
"Hey! Don't talk about my cat like that!" Gajeel roared back.
"Hehe, I seemed to touch a nerve." He looked at the group. His eyes looked up and down the bluenette. "We have a cutie here. Say doll, you wanna ditch these guys for me? I'll show you a good time."
Levy groaned. "Tch, do you really think I would betray my friends like that? I guess we all can take turns pounding on him."
"Spunky, but if you refuse then I guess-," His voice interrupted by a loud scream.
"That sounds familiar." Happy muttered.
"It does." Carla said
"…Jade-chan!" Crystal happily exclaimed.
On cue, the girl broke through the stone wall panting hard. "Jade!" Crystal said with joy.
She turned and waved trying to catch her breath. "Hey *pant, pant* you guys should *pant* get going*pant*" she said trying to catch her breath. Just then a large rumbling violently shook the ground under them. "Here it comes!" Jade added.
The gigantic Samuel entered through the wall, making a bigger hole from Jade's.
"Oh wow." Levy said looking up. There was a roar of laughter. "Gajeel! This is not the time to be laughing! *sigh* what is so funny anyway?"
Gajeel got himself together. "She's wearing a dress. Hah, damn."
Jade groaned. "Shut it ya baboon!" She then turned to her Exceed. "Crystal dear, can I get a knife please."
The cat looked shocked. "This is not the time to be eating! Besides, shouldn't we be fighting?"
Jade waved her hand. "I got this." She looked up at Samuel. "Hey Samuel," He grunted in response. "Time-out." He looked at her blankly. I'll take that as a yes. She then picked up sword Crystal threw by her foot and tore the dress above her knees—revealing she had been wearing shorts the whole time. Always have a backup plan. She then chomped down the knife. "Okay Sammy-boy come at me."
The man laughed. "You fairies are really stupid thinking you all can take me down. Just look at me."
Jade thought for a moment. "You're right. I can just take you on myself."
Crystal grunted. "Then why didn't you the first time."
"…this room has a higher ceiling." She lied quickly.
"You didn't know that. You just ran." Happy said.
"Damn you all, just go." She replied.
"Are you sure you can handle him?" Levy asked concerned.
Jade shrugged. "I can try, but you guys need to go. The weapon is in a room by the court yard."
The Exceeds nodded and left. "I guess you'll be alright." Gajeel said following along with Levy.
"Are we just gonna forget me?" the man who was their original opponent asked.
Jade rushed behind him and knocked him out. "One down one to go." She smirked.
Samuel laughed. "Are you so sure you can stop me?"
Jade gave him a toothy grin. "I can certainly try."
And there we go. I wanted to wrap everything up in one chapter, but it just wasn't working. I hope you all like this.
