I'm in college, my dearest readers. College is a piece of work and has made me a piece of work myself. I haven't forgotten you. In fact, I've been outlining the rest of this story in what was left of my spare time sooo I finally have chapters coming your way. Shtuff is getting intense and I can tell you now-this story should't be longer than 25-30 chapters in total. I received a few requests to permit fan art concerning my story and so you know, yes I'll allow it. Just don't forget to link me so I can see it too! 3
The family had arrived at the resort, slightly jet lagged from their journey to the states for a much needed vacation. And what better a way to enjoy the states than with their ski resorts during such a festive time of the year? It was December after all.
Hagi was holding the girls' luggage at his feet as they pranced around in the snow. They were outside of the resort office, waiting for Kai to pick up their resort passes and lodging key. He seemed to be just as scatterbrained as usual.
Saya was shyly kicking the snow with one foot, seeing the distant male was heavily occupied by the sight of her nieces. He did not one glance over at her. Instead, he held back a grimace as Kanade hit Hibiki in the back of the head with a loose ball of snow. Hibiki seemed to have caught on to his inner mockery and responded by hitting him square in the chest with a snowball.
"Hah!" she exclaimed with a devious grin until he saw his firm lips curl inwards as he locked his gaze upon her. "Err…" she stammered, beginning to clench her teeth sheepishly. "It was just a joke, Gigi!"
"Was not!" Kanade whined as if she herself was struck.
Hagi dusted off the snow with one hand and bent down to lay the luggage on the ground. Hibiki snorted, celebrating her escape from trouble with the Chevalier only to see him stand with a pile of snow held in one arm and a ball held tightly in his free hand.
"Neh-" Hibiki managed to shriek before one hit her shoulder. She yelped from the cold particles that scattered onto her neck and turned on her heel to try and escape. To her dismay she slipped on the curb of the sidewalk and fell into the snow face first.
Kanade burst into hysterical laughter, holding her sides as her twin rose onto her knees out of the snow mound. She turned and smiled at Hagi, her eyes shimmering a brilliant blue for hardly three seconds. Hagi caught this and felt his joints nearly tremble… was it fear? Was it… no-she was too young to be able to seduce him right? Wrong… chiropterans matured differently than humans-but still. Kanade and Hibiki were children of Diva after all, but did that give them power over him as their mother had?
Having not realized he had contemplated this approaching fear for two seconds too long, the again marble eyed girl began to draw nearer to him.
"Gigi, you look silly staring like that, what's wrong?"
He fought for words, only to be intercepted by a snowball that struck Kanade's face from the side.
Hagi turned, expecting the culprit to be none other than Hibiki. To his surprise, on his left stood Saya, breathing heavily, looking a bit disgruntled even.
Hibiki was standing where she had fallen now and pointed at Saya, "Nice shot, Saya!"
Saya's eyes were a brilliant red now, one of her fists clenched tightly. This made Hagi furious. He was internally torn by seeing her like this-and now she struck out at one of the girls. Without further thought, he launched a snowball at Saya.
The snow exploded against her face, causing her to stumble and fall backwards onto her butt. She sat there slightly dazed before shaking it off and looked around. The girls were giggling and Kai had come running.
"Saya! Be careful, it's slippery out here," he scolded as he rushed to help her to her feet.
The former chiropteran queen gave a sheepish smile at her brother, though her cheeks painfully burned with a knowing that because of her nieces… she was going to lose Hagi for good.
