Chapter 4

The three of them struggled to wake the next morning, and struggled to coax Nathan out in to a world he didn't like. "I'm not going to say it again Nathan" Kathryn growled, "I'll will throw you over my shoulder and carry you out, do you want that!?"

Nathan pouted slightly as he poked his fingers, "No... fine.." he shoved his hands into his pockets, "lets just get this over with."

Charlie patted his shoulder with a nice smile, "Don't worry my friend, this will be over before you know it and you'll have another play stick."

Nathan cut his eyes at her, "mehhhh... that's not funny." even though the girls snickered.

Walking down the packed streets Charlie felt like a child again. Experiencing the magic first hand as she and her friends walked down the packed street of wizards and the amazing shops. Kathryn gave Charlie a grinning look with a wink, clearly she was enjoying this as well.

Soon into their walk the three of them reached Ollivander wand shop, Charlie and Kathryn wasted no time rushing inside leaving Nathan to loom in behind them.

Charlie looked around with a wide smile at the many boxes of wands on the shelves that reached the ceiling. She was so busy looking looking around she over looked the old man sitting at his desk for once. He looked up at the three strangers, "can I help you?" he asked clearly he did not know them.

"uh.." Charlie cleared her throat, "uh well. Mr. Ollivander, we were told to come here for some new wands."

Kathryn nodded, "yes sir. Ours.. are broken."

"Oh" he raised an eyebrow at them, "well.. no young wizard should be without a wand," he replied and got to his feet. He approached them and grabbed Nathan's arm, "hmmm.." he looked over the young man sizing him up, "let's see." he walked away from them and disappeared into one of his isles of boxes but soon returned, "lets try this one shall we.. this is a ten inch.. walnut.. dragon heartstring," he then held the handle pointed out to Nathan to take.

Nathan smiled weakly and before he even touched the wand, it suddenly shot out across the room spewing red sparks. "nice to meet you too" he grumbled at the wand after it scared the crap of him.

Ollivander sighed making a face, he was completely used to this by now, "dragon heartstrings can be very temperamental its not your fault." The old man moved and picked up the wand tucking it away back into its box before he set out to find another one.

Nathan rounded on the girls, "thought you said this would be easy!?" he hissed at them in a whisper.

The girls snickered with smug grins as they shrugged their shoulders before Ollivander returned. "Lets try this one on for size... it is a nine inch cedar with unicorn hair."

Very reluctant to do this, Nathan sighed and winced slightly as his hand reached out and was actually was able to take hold of the hand. Ollivander gave a cheer of success as the wand glowed in Nathan's hand excepting its master. "Now.. who's next?" he asked even though he grabbed the closets girl's hand which belong to Kathryn. He blinked, "my my dear. You are very cold."

She smiled weakly, "yeah.. i'm aware of that sir."

He nodded leaving her as well and like before returned with a box, "I think.. I have the perfect thing for you.. An eight inch acacia wood with thestral tail hair."

Kathryn had no fear of taking the wand handle and gave the wand a wave. A light shimmer swirled around her and she grinned, "thats what i'm talking about."

The old wizard smiled watching her skip way with excitement and then he turned his attention to the last one. He blinked at her confused for a moment, "have.. have we met before?"

Charlie shook her head, "uh. No sir.. this is my first time here in London."

He nodded walking away seeming to except her reply. Charlie smiled slightly as she waited patiently for him to return. He held in his arms a few boxes and sat them on his desk, "to save myself some of the walk, lets try this. Mahogany five inches with Fairy wings and Demiguise hair."

She smiled and like Kathryn she was more than happy to take hold of her first wand but this was not going to be an easy process like her friend. This wand and a few after it did not work as planned, each destroyed something in the shop which Ollivander said he would fix later. He flopped into his chair with a heavy sigh, "Been a long time since I have this much trouble."

Charlie hung her head slightly, "i'm very sorry, Mr. Ollivander."

He shook his head, "oh no dear, not your fault" he pursed his lips as he looked around thinking, "wait one moment," he said getting to his feet and left going into the backroom. It was much longer than before until he returned, "I've had to look through my oldest collections for this one." He presented a very old box covered in thick dust, which he didn't bother wiping away and opened the box. "This is an Ebony seven inch with augurey tail feather."

She blinked at the wand. It was pure black but still very beautiful, "uh.. augurey tail feather? Never heard of that one."

"Irish Phoenixes" Ollivander replied to her and offered her the wand.

"that sounds awesome" Charlie smiled and reached out taking the handle. She paused for a moment holding it like a feather in her fingers. Taking it firmly in her hand she gave it a light wave and the previous broken items of the store was repaired.

The old wizard smiled, "ahh there we go, thank you dear. Well allow me to check you three out and you can be on your way."

Charlie stared over her new wand with glee, "yes thank you Mr. Ollivander." And with in minutes they purchased the wands with the money that was found in the abandon shop and that was where they had returned.

Kathryn waved her wand around the room using magic to clean up the space they were in as she hummed to herself. Nathan sat in is corner of the store watching her with a raised eyebrow unable to believe the display before his eyes.

"So how long do you think we should stay here?" Charlie asked Kathryn.

Her vampire friend shrugged, "I'm not sure.. maybe soon.. or we can just wait until the morning and get some supplies."

Charlie thought about it, "yeah.. that does seem like a plan. Gives us time to rest up and we shouldn't travel at night."

Nathan looked over at Charlie, "wh-why.. wait.. never mind. I don't think I want to know."

"I doubt you do" Charlie replied to him and glanced at what money was left, "I really don't know what food this could buy."

Kathryn blinked at her, "well.. we have wands now.. i'm sure we could... steal from unsuspecting muggles."

Charlie cut her eyes slightly, "i don't want to steal anything from anyone."

"Riiiight. But see.. i'm a vampire, I don't share your morals as you do Charlie dear. This is logical thought," replied Kathryn.

Nathan pondered for a moment, "yeah.. I think I agree with Kathryn, as long as we don't bring attention to ourselves. I mean.. what could go wrong?" Just as the words left his mouth, the universe proved that it was not on their side. As the windows shattered and shards of glass went everywhere, allowing swirling dark mists came into the shop with them and four death eaters then stood firmly before them.

Sooooo sorry it took me this long to come back to my stories. I plan to stay on the ball this time and finish all this. Wish me luck.
