Moments later, Natsumi was lying down on the bed with her head in Giroro's lap, crying softly. Giroro stroked her hair trying to calm her; but he was running in his mind trying to grasp what exactly had been happening to him lately. He was lost entirely on what to think about the ghost that attacked Natsumi in the shower.

He didn't know what caused him to change. He thought back to when he first came out of the tent, it was the first time that even he noticed the change. The memory of Natsumi's scream echoed. He griped his forehead as it throbbed in anger and pain. In the last twenty four hours all he seemed to do was frighten her and make her cry.

"Giroro, are you ok?" Natsumi's voice managed to break through the others in his head. He opened his eyes.

"I'm as good as I can be right now, I guess." Giroro let go of his head so as not to worry her further. She shouldn't have to worry about someone who just keeps hurting her.

"You started to, well growling might be the best way to describe it." Natsumi kept her sad amber eyes on him, waiting to see if he was hiding any actual pain he was feeling.

"I'm sorry. I was just thinking." Not too much longer after he said this his head began to throb even more; but it was his heart that startled him. He gripped his chest. "UNGH!"

"Giroro?! What's-" She froze in place staring at the window. Something dark had caught her eye, but there was nothing there. "I-I think it's outside."

As if to prove her right the red specter floated by the window again looking more like Giroro had yesterday, it stared directly at her. Watching her as it moved. When it was out of view again, Natsumi was able to run and close the curtains. She then dashed back to the side of the bed, keeping an eye on the window. She grabbed Giroro's free hand and began to cry again.

"Giroro. What's going on? What happening?" She said in between sobs. She thought back to last night remembering that this was all started because of his crush. "How can one girl make you feel so horrible?! Look at what she's done to you."

"Natsumi." Giroro spoke when his heart began to calm down. "I don't blame her for what happened to me. It's my fault. I never told her how I felt, never gave her a chance to think about feeling the same for me. I'm the one who went berserk over a rejection she didn't even get to give me."

"It seems like she ignores you so much. She doesn't deserve a chance. You need to forget her because you don't deserve to be in this condition." Natsumi began to cry even more. Giroro chuckled lightly.

"You don't even know who she is yet." He cringed again. His color faded lighter. This change was immediately followed by a bang on the door. "It's back. We need to go somewhere else."

Natsumi quickly looked around. She even chanced looking behind the decorative drapery. This action rewarded her with an odd hidden door beside the bed. She turned the handle and found a long dim passageway.

"I knew Momoka would have an emergency escape route." Natsumi was glad to have a rich heiress as a friend. She carefully picked Giroro up and held him close as they made their way into the tunnel. Natsumi then carefully let the curtain fall before she quietly closed the door. Luckily there was also a lock on their side of the door which Natsumi definitely made sure to set.

Shortly after they were secured in the tunnel they could hear the door to the bedroom smashed down. Natsumi tried to keep as silent as possible, holding in her screams. She padded down the dim hall on her bare feet. After a few bends in the path Natsumi came upon a split.

"Which way?" Natsumi was becoming slightly frantic.

"Any way is better than back." Giroro coughed out his words feeling the sharp pain in his chest again.

"True." Natsumi took a deep breath and went down the path to her right. Not long after that they came upon a door.

"Natsumi, be careful. We don't-ungh" He cringed at the stabbing pain inside. "We don't know if it's on the other side or not."

Natsumi nodded and proceeded to slowly open the door. Before she opened it past four inches she could see part of its flesh. She held the door still and froze her whole body.

"Natsumi…" The deep voice dragged out her name before it was joined with the sound of claws digging into the other side of the door.

As tears rained down her cheeks, Natsumi slowly closed the door and backed away down the hall. When they were ten feet down the hall she turned and ran back to the split and began down the other path. As soon as another door came into view Natsumi stopped and stood staring at it. She then collapsed onto her knees and burying her face into Giroro. The red frog patted her head as she cried into him.

"Giroro, what if we can't escape it?" Her sobbing slowed before she began to hyperventilate. "I'm so afraid of it. What does it even want with me?"

"I- I don't know what to do. I don't know how to keep you safe." Giroro clenched his fist. "It's all my fault. I can't do a damn thing right."

Natsumi pulled her head away to hear him clearly.

"What do you mean?"

"Each time it gets close to us my chest hurts unbearably. Earlier you mentioned that it looked like me, and ever since last night I haven't felt like myself. I think it's a part of me and now that part of me is hunting you." Giroro began to cry with her. "I'm so sorry Natsumi."
