So I know it's been a LONG time since I updated. So I'd like to apologize for that. I'm going to try to keep up with this until it's finished though. I've had a lot going on lately and writing has been hectic and super slow. So this chapter is pretty short but I wanted to get it out here. I'll try to make the next one longer :) And to everyone who's still sticking with me here, thanks!

Chapter Fifteen

Loud music filled the room, mixing with the cheers and laughter of the people within. Cheers erupted from the Weasley children as the Blaise set down his glass, still half-full of firewhiskey. The clank of Mr. Weasley's empty glass hitting the table amplified the cheers ten fold.

"I quite like these" -hiccup- "muggle games." Mr. Weasley slurred, standing from the table. He clapped Draco on the back. "You'll have to tell me all about these" -hiccup- "games."

Draco laughed, agreeing to tell him about the many games he had learned over his years of working with muggles. "But first," he said, "I think I had better go find your daughter. Last I saw, the Cannon guys looked fairly taken with her." Draco passed Mr. Weasley off to Ron and made his way through the room.

As predicted, Ginny was surrounded by three of the Cannon players. He heard her laugh and noted the smile on her face as she talked animatedly with them. A pang of jealousy twitched in his heart, watching her enjoy their company so much. He squashed the feeling down and walked over, triumph filling him when her light smile broke into a full grin at his approach.

"Gentlemen," he greeted them, "what are we talking about?"

Ginny moved over on the couch and made room for him beside her. "Dylan was telling me about Blaise's brilliant changes to the team since he's taken over. Amazing how he's managed to turn the team around so quickly!"

"Blaise has always been more the strategist than the athlete." Draco commented, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

She settled into his embrace. "Well, I'm sure Ron has never been more thrilled to see his favorite team on their way to the top." She looked around, spotting her brother on the other side of the room. He was trying, and failing it seemed, to lead his father into a chair. "Oh Merlin! What have you boys done to my dad?" she laughed. "Mum's going to have a fit if he goes home like that!"

Draco grinned. "He'll be fine, love. He's just had a few drinks."

"Far more than a few." Hermione said, coming to stand near them, leaning on the edge of the couch. "I heard he whipped Blaise in a muggle drinking game."

"Oh no..."

"I've got to admit." Draco said, "He's quite the drinker. I've never seen Blaise lose that game before."

"He's never played a Weasley." Ginny smirked.

Draco raised an eyebrow. "Are you trying to imply that you lot are better drinkers than the rest of us?"

"Is that what I was doing?" she asked sweetly in mock confusion.

Draco laughed and pressed a kiss to her temple.

"Perhaps a potion to make him a little more coherent?" Draco said, offering a vial to Ron.

"Thanks Malfoy. Mum would kill us if we took him home like this." he said. Popping the stopper from the small vial, he offered it to his dad who promptly downed it without asking it's contents.

"Should only take a few minutes to start sobering him." Blaise added from his side. They had taken to keeping a healthy supply of the potion for times like this.

Charlie and Bill had left hours before, unwilling to face the same fate as their father if they had showed up sloshed to their wives. Percy left soon after, explaining that he needed to be up for work and that a hangover would not help. Hermione hugged Ginny and offered her hand to Draco and Blaise, thanking them for the evening. Mr. Weasley released himself from Ron's grasp, staggering slightly, as he walked over to his daughter. He hugged her first, kissing her cheek, before turning and hugging Draco as well, who stood awkwardly, unsure of how to react. Finally, he patted Blaise on the back, assuring him that he would be happy to have another go at their game any time.

Blaise laughed and agreed, thanking them all for coming, Draco and Ginny echoing his thanks. Once the door was closed behind the last guest, Blaise collapsed across the couch.

"That," he said, grinning, "was a hell of an evening. Who knew your dad could put down so much alcohol, Weasley."

Ginny grinned sheepishly.

"Ah right," he said, standing up again. "I don't believe we've had a chance to formally meet."

She shook her head slightly, subconsciously moving closer into Draco's embrace. He noticed the movement and raised an eyebrow in response. Ginny shook herself for reacting so shyly. He was Draco's friend, after all, he wouldn't do anything to her. Determined, she straightened and offered her hand.

"We haven't," she said, "but any friend of Draco's is a friend of mine."

Blaise smirked. "I see why Drake is so taken with you." He turned his eyes to Draco, "Charming little minx, isn't she?"

Draco smirked and hugged her. "Would you expect anything less?"

"Anyone who managed to capture you has to have some fire in them."
