Present Day

2184 CE

The Citadel is filled thousands of individuals, all from different worlds and climates. It was regularly scheduled to change temperature in an attempt to accommodate all that lived on it. This night was especially cold as Bailey stood on his apartment built-on deck smoking a cigar. He looked up at the other petals of the Citadel, contemplating on his day.

"Captain" the gruff voice had pierced the quietness of the night as Bailey turned and came face to face with the tall armored figure he had learned to be 'The Batman'. Nothing surprised the veteran law officer anymore as he didn't flinch when he saw the white eyes staring back at him.

Bailey drew in another breath of his cigar before breaking the silence, "Was wondering when you would come see me again. I just figured you were busy taking down Ivy's empire." Bailey raised an eyebrow and asked, "By the way you didn't have anything to do with that billionaire fending off Ivy's enforcer did you?" Batman said nothing as he reached out from underneath his draped cape to hand Bailey a small device. "What's this?"

Batman's voice once again resonated as he spoke, "In case you need to get a hold of me."

Bailey examined the device and noticed a thumb scanner on the underside. He looked back up to the armored vigilante and joked, "What does it do, shine your symbol in the air?" Bailey took another long intake of his cigar as Batman said nothing. "Well, while I have you here, thought maybe this new case would spark your interest" Bailey said as he grabbed a datapad off his deck ledge and handed it to Batman.

The datapad contained information on a number of sites that had been broken into and had very particular devices stolen from and multiple casualties. Batman had only recently had the cases brought to him, but now it seemed to be a priority to C-Sec. Bailey continued to talk as Batman looked through the data.

"All the victims were completely frozen solid and had signs of a multiple perpetrators. One location captured a visual of the man supposedly in charge and after a visual identification, we found out this guy is a former Alliance weapon guru. In fact, he is the founder of all modern cryo weaponry and utilities. Couple years ago he went off the grid and now is apparently stealing laboratory equipment."

Batman listened as he examined the captured picture of the culprit and noted his sophisticated armor that covered him from head to toe.

"The boys down at the station have started calling this guy Mr. Freeze."

Batman looked up at Bailey, "I'm on it."

"Can't tell you how much you've changed things around here. Guess what I'm trying to say…"Bailey paused as he took another drag of his cigar, nodding at the horizon of the great space station. He then turned back to where Batman was standing and saw nothing but the door back into his apartment.

"Is thanks…" Bailey looked around and chuckled to himself as he tossed his cigar over the ledge, "…and good luck."
