Previously in Half Blood High~~
"Yeah. We were walking to the Shake Shack together and we were like flirty and that kind of stuff and then Rachel came and we talked and then Annabeth looked sick and when we got our drinks she said she wanted to go home. It was weird man." Percy sighed.
"Wait. Rachel?" Nico said loudly. "Rachel Elizabeth Dare?"
"Yeah dude. What about it?"
"Does Annabeth even know? About Rachel?" Nico said laughing.
"Know what?" Percy looked so confused. "Oh, shiz. She doesn't! That's why? Oh gods… I need to talk to her."
Percy ran his ran across his face. Dang. Girls are so annoying.
It was afterschool and Annabeth had been avoiding Percy the whole day. She even skipped lunch to go "study in the library". Juniper and Thalia both sensed something was wrong, but they didn't want to interfere.
So while Annabeth was in hiding, the lunch table group was chatting.
"Hey, where's Annabeth, Percy?" Nico asked while Thalia sat on his lap.
"Why are you asking me?" Percy asked.
"Just thought you'd know." Nico took a big bite out of Thalia's pudding.
"Hey!" Thalia whined.
"Sorry babe." Nico said, with his mouth full of chocolaty goodness.
Thalia rolled her eyes.
"Hey guys, so Jason's gunna sit here okay?" Thalia quipped.
"Yeah." "Of course." "Awesome!"
"Ah looky here! The Grace siblings are back." Beckondorf grinned and waved at Jason who was walking over to the table calmly. He didn't look nervous at all about being in a new school. Well. His dad was the principal after all.
"Hey guys! Watsup!" Jason said, sitting down happily in a space reserved for him.
"Hey!" "We missed you." "Great to have you here, Grace."
Jason fit right in… like a glove on a cold winter day. Huehuehue.

Piper was miserable. Silena was busy planning the next school dance which was apparently a week away. Silena said something about Ancient Greek themed or something.
So Silena asked Drew, the girl across the hall from their dorm, to hang with Piper.
Drew already hated Piper. And the feeling was mutual.
"Okay, seriously thought Piper. If you're going to hang with us, please get a wardrobe makeover… well… a makeover in general… to fix…. Whatever this is." Drew said looking Piper up and down with that pretty little face of hers. Too bad her personality totally killed her beauty.
Drew was in a stylish romper with cute flats. Her black hair, accented with the obmre smelled of peaches. Drew's almond eyes were bordered with winged liner and gorgeous long lashes… possibly fake. Her pouty lips were glossy and flirtatiously smiling at the "hot" boys in the room.
Piper on the other hand, was in army green skinny jeans, ripped at the knees, a loose gray tank and red converse. Her hair was braided as usual and her face had no makeup whatsoever.
"…Anyway, so since you're new, you have an excuse. Who else it new?" Drew scanned the lunch room. "OMG yes! That's Jason Grace… the dreamy HOT transfer from Roman High. He's Thalia, the goth-punk-thing girl's brother. She's a biatch. He's a hottie. Isn't he?"
The boy Drew was pointing at turned around form his seat next to a green eyed tan boy. He was blonde with striking blue eyes and had a strong jaw. His chest was broad, but not in a way that was overly muscular. He had a tattoo peeking out of one purple sleeve on his arm.
Piper froze. Oh my gods.
It's him.
-flashback-
Piper and Leo were walking to a bus station, both carrying their duffel bags. They had met at a summer camp before and turns out they were both transferring to Half Blood High. Coincidentally, both of them missed their rides to town.
Piper could hear booming music as they walked past a club with neon lights with the words: Club Prometheus.
"I don't understand clubbers." Piper said to Leo as she hiked her bag onto her shoulder. It was real heavy.
"That's because you've never been." Leo said, smiling elfishly. Leo was a cute Latino boy with wavy black hair and tan skin. His nose and ears were almost elf-like, so everything about him made Piper think of him as a Christmas elf. Leo had a talent for fixing material things. Fixing his social skills was something he wasn't the greatest at. Piper loved Leo to bits. He was hilarious.
"Neither have you!" Piper laughed. It was dark outside and getting pretty chilly… at least they were at the bus stop.
And then it started to rain.
"Oh, come on!" Leo protested, looking up at the sky. "Curse you gods!"
"Woah, woah! Careful there. Zeus might just strike you with his bolt." Piper joked.
"No. Just no." Leo said as the raindrops dripped down his forehead.
The two of them kept walking on in the rain. Neither of them had their umbrellas.
"This sucks." Piper groaned as her sneakers squished with rainwater. "Seriously, where is the bus?"
"Somebody! Save us!" Leo whined.
And as if their prayer had been answered, a blonde boy with the most beautiful blue eyes exited from the back door of Club Prometheus.
Piper watched him as he ran through the pouring ran and towards them.
She felt her heart beat faster. She couldn't help but stare at this beautiful stranger.
Wait. Beautiful stranger?
Piper. What is up with you?
"Hey Blondie!" Leo piped as the blonde boy made his way over. "When's the bus coming?"
"Um, hey! Um… Where to?" The beautiful blonde boy said.
"Half Blood High." Piper piped.
"Oh! Hey! I'm going there too! The next bus should come in about twenty minutes though… from the looks of it, you two need to get there fast." The boy smiled. "The name's Jason Grace, by the way."
"And I am the one and only, Leo Valdez."
"Piper."
"Well, Leo and Piper… I'm new this semester too. Just transferred from Roman High." Jason said, shaking their hands. When Piper's hand was enveloped by Jason's she wanted to faint. "Hey, whoa. You feel really cold. Want my jacket?" Jason took off his dark grey jacket and handed it to Piper. As he took it off, Piper saw a glimpse of a tattoo on his arm. Interesting.
It was big on her, but warm… It felt like she was sitting in a rose bud on a warm sunny day… in a garden full of butterflies and…
Stop it Piper.
Twenty minutes later, Leo and Jason were already deep into a conversation about aircraft carriers while Piper just stared at Jason. Occasionally, they made eye contact, and Piper would go beet red.
When they finally got to campus, the rain had stopped and Jason walked Leo and Piper to their dorm houses. On the way, they learned that Jason was already familiar to this place because his sister and his cousin and some of his best childhood friends went here. Piper also learned that Jason smelled like mint and lime and really liked the idea of flying and wanted to be a pilot.
-End of Flashback.-
"Piper?" Jason called.
"Piper!" Leo's head popped up from behind Jason's with a bright, wide smile.
"Wait, you know each other?" Drew asked surprised and eyes wide, addressing Piper about Jason. Drew was repelled by Leo.
"Um, hey Jason. Leo." Piper said shyly, waving.
Jason motioned for her to come to him. Drew smacked her gum, fluffed her hair, stuck out her chest and strode over. Piper slouched beside her, hiding behind her bangs.
"Oh my gods, Jace. What's up?" Drew said, batting her lashes.
"Um, do I… do I know you?" Jason asked curiously as the rest of the kids at the table laughed.
"Get lost Drew." The girl with the thick eyeliner said to Drew from the lap of a dark looking boy. Hey. They looked kinda cute together.
Seriously Piper. Stop that.
"I'm Thalia." The eyeliner girl said. "And this is Percy, Beckondorf, Katie, Travis, Connor, Grover, Juniper, Leo… whom you already know and… and Annabeth's not here right now. I don't where she is." She said, pointing out each person mentioned.
"You forgot me babe." The lap boy piped.
"Oh! And Nico." Thalia said grinning evilly.
"Piper." Piper said nodding.
"Oh my gods! You're Piper? The Piper?" Thalia said, jumping up from Nico's lap. "Jason has been talking about you!
"He's been talking about this chick since that day at Prometheus. When he escaped from third-wheeling?" Thalia addressed the table. Piper blushed.
"Silena's your roommate right?" The big black guy, Beckondorf asked. "I'm Beckondorf. And sorry if my girlfriend is a little freaky. She get's excited"
"Silena's great." Piper laughed. Then she turned to Jason. "So… can I um, sit here?"
Everyone said yes.
Drew attempted to squish in, but Thalia elbowed her out. Piper hid a smile.
"Buh-Bye, Drew!" Thalia sang, pushing Drew away, who walked off with an air of importance.
Piper laughed and looked around at the smiling faces around her. This was going to a good year.

Afterschool, Percy walked around the campus, looking for Annabeth. He had made it around the field for the fifth time, when a flash of blonde curls in the glass library caught his eye. So Percy ran over to see if it was Annabeth. And it sure was.
"Annabeth!" Percy called out, running over.
She turned around and then beelined an opposite direction.
""Wise girl! Hey! Annabeth!" Percy called after her.
Unfortunately for Annabeth, running was not allowed in the library, so she crouched down by a bookshelf.
"Annabeth! I need to talk to you." Percy's voice called again.
"Perseus Jackson! Be quiet! Use your library voice, for Zeus's sake!" The wrinkly old library lady griped.
"Sorry Mrs. Bobbs." Percy said meekly.
"If I hear you being loud one more time, you're on shelving duty."
"Yes, ma'am."
Annabeth sniggered.
But not quietly enough.
"You gotta stop running away from me Wise Girl." Percy crouched next to her. Annabeth sighed, refusing to look at him, in fear that she'd melt right there on the spot and stain the library carpet, right in front of the romance novel section. Her face turned and she came face to face with Twilight. Annabeth groaned.
"Listen, I know why you're pissed." Percy started, taking a seat on the ground with Annabeth who began playing her hair. "Annabeth, I like you. And only you."
Annabeth looked up and came face to face with Percy. She swallowed and licked her lips.
"And I know that you like me too… because… um…. Thalia told me." Annabeth was going to kill Thalia. "But that's not what I needed to tell you."
Annabeth stared into his green eyes.
"Rachel is a lesbian."
"Wait." Annabeth's eyes widened. "What?"
"Rachel is a lesbian!" Percy chuckled, saying it louder.
"No. No! I heard you. Oh my gods." Annabeth sank into the floor. "I got worked up about— oh my gods! I want to die right now."
Mrs. Bobbs heels click clacked on the soft carpet, heading towards them.
"Perseus Jackson, if it's your voice screaming about lesbians, I will find you and—"
"Let's go." Percy said, grabbing Annabeth's hand and sneaking out of the library with her.
"Where?"
"I need to give you something." Percy smiled.
They went to Percy's locker and stood there, talking.
"Anyway, what was it that you wanted to show me?" Annabeth said with a light smile. "I still can't believe… Rachel. Oh my gods. She must think I'm an idiot."
"No, no. She likes you Wise Girl." Percy laughed.
"I don't think I deserve that name." Annabeth muttered as Percy opened his locker and dug around in his backpack.
"Look away." Percy said.
Annabeth turned away.
"No peeking."
"I'm not." Annabeth peeked.
Percy dug out a pink box with a white satin bow from his bag. Annabeth turned away just in time.
"So um, Annabeth."
Annabeth turned to face him, her face turning pink, matching the box.
"We've been hanging out a lot and getting closer throughout these past couple months… and I really really like you." Percy looked so adorably shy, but he never broke eye contact. "I wanted to ask you… If you wanted to… I mean only if you like to…. What I'm trying to say is… Will you be my—"
Just then, Clarisse and her friends burst out through the classroom door nearest to where Annabeth and Percy stood.
"Hey Punk! Heard you liked swimming, let's go take a dunk in the pool." Clarisse walked towards them menacingly.
Before Percy or Annabeth could object, Clarisse lifted Percy up above her head and her goons took Annabeth.
"Put her down, you idiots! We only want the guy." Clarisse spat at her friends.
But they didn't, and the band of big girls, with Percy and Annabeth on their shoulders with tomato red faces walked towards the school pool.
Kabloosh!
Percy went down hard as Clarisse threw him off. Unfortunately for Annabeth, Clarisse didn't have very bright friends and threw her in too, following their leader's actions.
Just then, the lights around the pool area lit up.
"Shiz, shiz shiz! Go! Go! Go!" Clarisse shepherded her friends out the nearest door, leaving Percy and Annabeth, dripping wet in the 500m zone.
"I don't think they know the lights come on automatically at this time." Percy said, coming up from the water.
Annabeth on the other hand was sputtering and flapping her arms wildly.
"I don't like this!" Annabeth's voice shrilled.
"Calm down, Annabeth!" Percy said. But Annabeth didn't stop flailing. So Percy grabbed her and hugging her, floating up for the both of them. "Well. This is awkward."
Percy looked down at Annabeth's wet hair. It looked darker wet. And he missed her curls. Annabeth turned her face up and look at him, their eyes catching each others, stopping both of them from talking.
Then Percy leaned in slowly… and Annabeth followed suit, inching closer and closer, taking almost forever to meet each other. Then Percy stopped.
"I. Um. We should go. It's cold." Annabeth murmured. Percy nodded and got out of the pool then helped her out.
"Um. Here." Percy grabbed a towel on a bench and handed it to Annabeth, wrapping her within the fluffy whiteness.

Percy walking Annabeth back to her dorm.
"So. Um. Annabeth." Percy started. His hair had already half dried while Annabeth's was still dripping down her back. "I didn't finish my sentence earlier."
"It's um. can say it now." Annabeth said quietly. Percy nodded and pulled the dry (which Annabeth didn't know HOW) box from his pocket and stood in front of her.
"Annabeth, will you be my girlfriend?" Percy asked with a hopeful smile on his beautiful face, opening the box and pulling out a necklace.
Annabeth gasped. This is the most beautiful necklace she had ever seen. It was simple and small, but she loved it. It was in the shape of a heart, with diamonds dangling at the vertex of it.
"Yes." She managed to breathe out. "Yes, Percy."
Percy breathed out a sigh of relief and grinned widely.
"I'll, um, see you tomorrow? At school?" Percy blushed.
"Oh course." Annabeth said, still giddy. "And I promise not to run away this time."
