Previously in Half Blood High~~

When Silena finally finished getting ready and all the girl's had their prom looks complete, the boys knocked in.

"YOU'RE JUST IN TIME MY LOVLIES!" Silena squealed, running to the door.

"This is so cute! Ya'll have matching ties to your girlies!" Silena shrieked.

Grover almost died when he saw his special red headed girl.

"J-J-Juniper! You look amazing! Oh my Pan… You are absolutely breathtaking…" Grover stuttered nervously, chewing on a petal on the cream corsage.

Juniper blush and walked over to Grover, watching him pin the corsage onto her as his hands shook.

"Grover is a cutie pie." Thalia snickered as she slinked over to her boyfriend. Nico looked at her in absolute adoration as she made her way over and linked arms with him.

"And you look like a mother fridging goddess in this horrendous getup, babe." Nico smiled into her forehead as he kissed it, smelling her sweet mango-scented body mist.

"Thanks emo-boy. You clean up pretty good yourself. Now be a man and kiss me where it counts." Thalia smirked and grabbed Nico by his tie.

"Stoll!" Katie squeaked shyly. Katie wasn't the girliest of girls, but wearing this gown and seeing Travis in a suit made her tingle all over.

"You look beautiful, Gardener." Travis smiled handsomely and bravely leaned down to kiss her. Katie went beet red and smiled into the kiss.

"Um. Hey…." Percy said quietly as he and Annabeth met each other amongst there friends, sandwiched between Charlena and Thalico— the major PDA-bunch.

"Hi." Annabeth said sternly, not looking into those sea-green eyes.

"Listen, Annabeth… I'm sorry… I just—"

"No. It's fine. I get it." Annabeth said sharply. Then she sighed. "Let's just go."

The second the crew got to the party, everybody split in different directions of the dance floor.

Piper felt Drakes hands on her hips as hers cradled his neck. He held her so close and swayed as Taylor Swift's song You Belong With Me played on the speakers. It was really romantic…

"Thanks for asking me to the prom, by the way." Piper murmured, taking a whiff of his cologne. Armani.

"Thanks for coming with me, babe." Drake said, pulling back, smiling. "So anyway, why did you say yes to my invite?"

"Well." Piper sighed, thinking about Jason and the song lyrics. "To be honest, I had no one else to go with…"

"YOU? Piper, you are the most beautiful girl in this room. There was no way you couldn't have gotten a date!" Drake laughed. Piper rolled her eyes. Oh, the flattery. "But… I thought you and Jason were a thing."

"No." Piper whispered as a certain blonde hair, blue-eyed boy danced into view with Drew in his arms. She looked away and buried her face in Drew's shoulder.

Meanwhile, Annabeth and Percy had sat down at a table, sipping mocktails. Annabeth pretended to be absolutely fascinated by the lime in her drink.

"Annabeth. Please. Talk to me!" Percy begged for the millionth time that night.

"Percy, you shouldn't have gotten all up in my gods damned business!" Annabeth huffed angrily. "You had no right to go to your father about my mother."

"I'm sorry! I just needed to understand why my girlfriend's mother, whom I haven't even met yet, hates me." Percy felt his voice raise. "I'm sorry that I care about you and our relationship and that I want to strengthen it, okay? Gods, Annabeth! I was just trying to get your mom to at least give me a fair chance! You can't get mad at me for what our parents did to each other back in high school. That was over a decade over. Gods."

"Well my mother had a good point about your father! He cheated her her after he almost got her knocked up. That is not my mother's fault! Even if she did try to sabotage your father's next relationship, you can't blame her. She was scared and confused and in love! But he broke her heart."

"THAT IS NOT MY FAULT." Percy shouted. A few people turned to stare. Percy immediately lowered his voice. "This isn't really about our parents though, is it?"

Annabeth shrugged.

"Annabeth… I'm not my father." Percy said, getting up from his seat and taking her hands.

"I just don't want to get hurt like that either Percy… I really really like you…" Annabeth said, tearing up. "All my life, people have been leaving me… My mother, my father, Thalia, Luke… I don't want you to be next." Annabeth looked away.

"Wise-girl… you're an architect. Aren't you?" Annabeth gave a small nod. "And architects build things… and they strive for structures that will last permanently… for many lifetimes…" Percy started, taking Annabeth's face. "And I think that we are building something permanent here. So don't put a wall between us. Annabeth…I need you to be with me… to be my rock."

Then he leaned in… slowly… and Annabeth's breath hitched. She could wear she could hear her heart pounding… and then Percy kissed Annabeth softly.

It was so soft Annabeth could barely feel it. But it was light in a way that made Annabeth felt like fireworks were exploding all around her. It was the kind of kiss that could stretch out forever and never end. The kind that was just perfect.

"You're perfect." Annabeth breathed out as they pulled away from each other. "And I'm sorry I acted the way I did… I guess I'm just a little insecure…Wait. Percy. I think we just had our first fight."

Percy smiled kindly. "Come on Wise-girl… let's get on the dance floor and show them the real way to dance."

"This is too cliché." Thalia panted as she slipped her dress back on. Nico leaned against the door, shirtless. "It's ridiculous. I never really understood why people behaved so… naughty at prom… until now I guess."

She shot Nico a seductive grin.

"But… I think that was the perfect way to mark the start of our night." Nico grinned, making his way over to his girlfriend, kissing her bare neck. "Besides… who would have thought you were so bad at strip poker!"

"Ugh. All you did was loose a shirt and your jacket. I loose one round and boom, the dress is off. Unfair, baby. Unfair…" Thalia giggled. "Wait. Dude. If we go back… it'll look like we did it in the classroom."

"That's even more cliché." Nico laughed, realizing this as well. "High schoolers and their perverted minds."

Thalia smiled and she grabbed Nico's butt. "Put your shirt back on Di Angelo."

Piper felt absolutely miserable as Drake's hands squeezed her hips. They had been talking and dancing all night, but Piper was completely bored. It just didn't feel right. Drake didn't feel right.

"So I said to her 'shut the front door… you're not the boss of me' but then that dog was like 'don't talk back to me' but I was like…my gods, baby… you look really hot tonight." Drake drunkenly crooned.

Earlier, when they had taken a break, Drake pulled out a pouch of vodka. Piper, disgusted, declined when he offered her some… but he drank the rest of it himself.

Drake's hands slipped lower down Piper's torso… reaching to her lower back… then even lower.

"Drake. Stop." Piper hissed. "Stop! I said stop!"

"Babe… but you're so hot tonight. Come, on. Let's go to an empty classroom. I brought a thing so you won't get pregnant on prom night." Drake slurred as his hands wandered around Piper.

"Stop!" Piper shoved but Drake was strong enough to stay standing.

"Woah there, pretty lady…" Drake grabbed her wrist.

Just then, as if the gods had answered Piper's prayers, a flash of blonde appeared next to them, pushing Drake off.

"Hey, buddy… You should go. Now. Ask Drew to drive you home, okay man?" Jason growled as he put his hand protectively on Piper. Drake gave the two of them a once over, then patted Jason on the shoulder and left.

"Um. T-Thanks." Piper said, looking up at Jason. Jason set his jaw and looked down at the beautiful girl before him.

"No problem. I'd do anything for my friends, you know?" Jason said quietly. "Besides, I've been meaning to talk to you… I feel like you've been kinda avoiding me lately…"

"It's just struggling to fit in, you know…" Piper lied, "but I got it all handled now… so… I'm sorry that we haven't been talking lately Jason."

Jason smiled at Piper, looking into her eyes… he could tell she wasn't telling him the truth… but he didn't press on.

"Dance with me, Pipes?" Jason offered his hand as a slow song came on again.

"Of course." And both of their heart's skipped a beat as their hands made contact. It was magicus.

"All right, you imps! There are still 6 weeks of school left, so I expect you to still be on your best behavior and study for finals. The exam schedules are posted outside of the office. Now. Percy!" Dr. Chiron said, catching Percy off guard, "tell us. What did Odysseus do when he first returned to Ithica?"

"He, um, had a war with the suitors, sir? Percy said uncertainly.

"Close, Percy. Perhaps your girlfriend here, Ms. Chase, could enlighten you on the correct answer." Chiron smiled.

"Athena once again aided Odysseus and helped him become disguised as an old beggar, sending him to a goat farmer's house." Annabeth piped, shooting Percy a glance.

"Right, ho! Now, Mr. Jackson, can you answer my next question? Who was the most glorified god in the book?"

"Poseidon?" Percy ask-answered.

"Ms. Chase, please tutor Mr. Jackson after school so he does not need to repeat my class."

"Okay, Seaweed-Brain… after practice, we are going to study and get you ready for finals." Annabeth said, looking up from a calendar she had made. It was filled with study plans with Percy.

Percy looked at all the material his girlfriend wanted to cover and groaned.

"Plus, this way, we can also spend more time together." Annabeth said slowly and tauntingly, making Percy sweat. "No go get your butt on the field and run some laps Jackson."

"You are the best." Percy said, kissing Annabeth. The people around them watched in silence as the couple… showed their affection.

"Gross." A voice sounded from beside them.

"Hey Thals." Annabeth murmured, her lips still on Percy's. Percy attempted to swat Thalia, but she nimbly skipped out of the way. "I'll catch you later Percy. And maybe some of your practice. I love it when you're all focused and in charge."

Percy shot her a grin and walked off with his gear.

"Um. I hope I never have to see my cousin and best friend make out like that ever again." Thalia made a face. She couldn't get the image out of her little head.

"He's an amazing kisser." Annabeth teased, making Thalia squirm.

"Hey. At least don't do it in front of my locker. Excuse you!" Thalia pushed Annabeth out of the way sassily. Annabeth laughed. "Anyway, did you hear about Clarisse LaRue at the prom?"

"Promenade?" Annabeth asked.

"Ew. No. That sounds hauty and british." Thalia said, shoving her bag into the metal box of a locker.

"You love accents!" Annabeth quipped.

"Anyway!" Thalia raised a brow, "I saw her dancing with a guy. And they looked happy. She probably didn't even beat him up or threatened him into doing it! They looked awfully cosy."

"Well I'm glad she's found a guy." Piper piped from beside them. "Hey guys, can I hang with you two?"

"Yah." Thalia said, throwing an arm around Piper. "But priorities, I must find out who Mr. Clarisse-boy is!"

"You can do that after cheer practice, Grace." Annabeth smirked evilly. Thalia stomped her foot. "Besides, they are the best inside source… and Silena is really close with Clarisse."

"Toodley-doo." Thalia said, grabbing her defeated looking pom-poms. "BTW, last game of the year on Thursday. You'd better come and watch me… and my cousins… your EW boyfriends."

"Jason is not my boyfriend!" Piper called as Thalia ran off.

"You two looked rather… boyfriend-girlfriend-ish at prom." Annabeth smiled knowingly. "Why aren't you two making it official yet?"

"Ugh. He's giving me a lot of mixed signals… It's really pissing me off now." Piper said, looking sad.

"What did he do?" Annabeth said frowning. Jason was usually an open guy.

"He told me he really liked me…we can stay up all night on the phone… he texts me all the time, we talk and hangout a lot… and he saved me from drunk Drake and asked me to dance…. But…" Piper sighed. "He's also said that he was, and I quote, "so done with girls", and he didn't ask me to prom and he talks about other girls to me and… yeah… it's so ugh."

"I've known Jason my whole life… that doesn't sound like him." Annabeth said, shaking her head. "He usually just goes for it."

They walked in silence towards the field.

"Maybe he really, really, really likes you but he isn't sure that the feelings at reciprocal." Annabeth offered. "I've seen the way you look at each other… there's something there."

"I guess I kind of shut him off sometimes…" Piper started.

"Take it from me: You gotta make it clear what you feel, because those boys can be a little slow… really sweet, but slow." Annabeth smiled kindly. "Let's go watch those slowbeans."

Piper laughed out loud for the first time in a while.

"Babe, did you see Jason? It was amazing!" Percy exclaimed, taking off his sweaty helmet, shaking his hair. "Dude, if you play like that at the playoffs, we will crush Roman High."

"Yeah, bro!" Jason said, smiling proudly yet shy at the same time. "Hey Piper!"

"Hi Jason… Listen, can we talk?" Piper asked sweetly, tucking a strand of hair that escaped from her braid behind her ear.

"Um. I actually—" Percy shot Jason a look, "Yeah. I don't have anything planning anyway. Just let me get my stuff. We can take my car."

The two left the field and Percy wrapped Annabeth in his arms.

"You smell like a man." Annabeth sniffed.

"You love it."

"Only on you." They smiled at each other lovingly.

"Be-tee-dubs, what was that thing between you and Jason?" Annabeth asked, then jokingly threw in, "Are you two having a thing?"

Percy kissed Annabeth quickly. "Nah, he just asked me some stuff about his crush on Piper."

"So they do like each other! I told her it was obvious."

"Me too."

"Those kids…"

"Annabeth, that was us a couple months ago." Percy said, picking up his girlfriend. "I'm lucky to have you."

Annabeth dipped her head and kissed him fully. "I know you are." Then they laughed. "Okay, baby, let's go study!"
