Hey guys! I lied in the last chapter, this one is going to be just the reception. I need to know where y'all want the honeymoon to be, cause I really have no idea where to send them. It's also gonna be shorter, cause it's been a while since I went to a wedding, so I forgot what all occurs at the reception. I know speeches, garter toss, and the bouquet toss, then they run off to their honeymoon.. Anyway, here's chapter 6!

A quick S/O to Guardian of Fear! You've been awesome with letting me know what you think. Thanks!

Heart Of A Huntress

Chapter 6

Just before Dimitri and I were allowed into the reception, Lissa wanted to do some more wedding pictures. So I complied and went along with whatever she said. There was only one photo that I couldn't wait to get my hands on. It was one of Dimitri and I together. He stood behind me, so my back rested against his chest. His arms wrapped around my waist, his fingers knit together in front of me. I was looking up at him with a look of pure love and amazement as my left hand rested on his cheek. Liss got a glimpse of it from the photographer she had hired and she said that our wedding bands appeared to be glowing. Tomorrow, Dimitri and I would be flying off to our honeymoon.

Walking into the reception, I had to remember to breathe. Lissa had truly outdone herself. There were large bowls sitting in the center of the tables with floating candles. Sand coated the bottom of the bowls with little starfish and actual coral inside! Lanterns hang from above and a large dance floor took most of the space. Lissa had set it up so the tiles themselves were custom designed to look like sand. There were projectors and lights everywhere giving the effect of waves and fish, making me feel as if I were underwater. Dimitri and I walked over to the front table, set for the bridal party. I had 3 bridesmaids and Dimitri had 3 groomsmen. Lissa was my maid of honor, then Jill and Viktoria were my other bridesmaids. Christian was Dimitri's best man with Eddie and Nikolai as the other groomsmen. We sat down and had a nice dinner (I don't remember what it was because I ate it all that fast.I was starved!) and then it was time for the toasts. Lissa stood up and decided that she would go first.

"I have known Rose since we were little girls. I will never forget the day she threw the book at our teacher and called her a fascist bastard. Since then, Rose has been my rock in everything. She has done many things that just blow my mind, and she continues to surprise me with her energy everyday. She made a vow to me when we were about 7. She said she would always protect me, whether it be from boys and bullying or the Strigoi. Now, on your wedding day, I want to make a vow to you. As my sister, you have seen me through many things and kept me grounded. Now, I vow to do the same for you. I will protect you and ground you. I love you Rose. We've made years worth of memories, and here is to many more."

Lissa's speech had me in tears by the end, but not the snotty kind. I looked over to her and told her it was a beautiful speech. Next, Christian went, giving his speech as best man.

"I haven't known Dimitri long, so it surprised me when he asked me to be his best man. Of course, I had heard my aunt talk about him frequently, so I knew he was a good guy and couldn't help but accept. Dimitri is the one who brought Rose and Lissa back to St. Vlad's so I guess I should properly thank you now.. I wouldn't be as happy as I am now without her. But, Moroi aren't the only ones who deserve to be happy. Rose was rude and wild when we first met. She was undisciplined but I could tell she wasn't completely happy with her life. Then, she started training with you, and everyone noticed the change in her. She was smiling more and her self-control was getting better." At this everyone had a nice laugh. "After a while, I kinda figured something was going on but I couldn't bring myself to tell because I could see how much you meant to her. And now, at your wedding, I want to wish you both the best in life. You have both worked hard to get where you are, and you deserve your happiness. Make the most out of the next two weeks, because when you get back, your stuck with me." Everyone had another laugh.

After the speeches and dinner, everyone got up and started dancing, except Dimitri and I. We stayed in our seats, content to just sit there and be close to each other. Then Lissa ran over to the MC and had him announce it was time for the bride and groom's first dance as husband and wife. Dimitri stood first, before offering me his hand, which I gladly took. As I rose and walked with him, I could feel the soft silk of my dress brushing along my knees and shins. Since we had a beach wedding, my dress was short, the farthest down being my shins and instead of wearing shoes, Liss had found these adorable strings with flowers attached. They are kind of like a gladiator sandal, but there is no bottom to them. They simply wrap around one toe, cross over the top of my foot before wrapping itself around my ankle. Little white flowers decorated to top of my foot on the string and my hair. In all actuality, I looked really girly. As Dimitri and I stepped onto the dance floor, A Moment Like This by Kelly Clarkson began to play.

Dimitri pulled me closer to him, holding my right hand in his left and his right wrapped around my waist. Having never danced like this before, I stood on Dimitri's toes, holding myself up by my left arm, which was wrapped around his neck. I let my head rest on Dimitri's chest as I murmured the lyrics to the song. A smile never left my face. Dimitri kept his head bowed, close to my ear, telling me how much he loved me and how he couldn't believe we were finally married. Eventually, I lifted my head to face him and kissed him. It was a gentle kiss, but just as consuming as the others. When the song ended, my father walked over and asked if he could cut in and have his first dance with his daughter. Dimitri, ever the gentleman, complied with my father's request, but not before leaving me with one last kiss. I Hope You Dance by LeeAnn Womack began to play and oddly, my father sang along as he danced with me. I looked up at him to see a lone tear falling down his cheek. I reached up and wiped it away, asking why he was so upset.

"I just got you kizim, and now I'm giving you away. I never thought I would meet you in the first place, but I am so proud of you. I love you kizim."

"It's not forever Daddy. I'll be gone for two weeks then I'll be back at Court, annoying you like you never missed a minute of my life." I giggled at the end when I saw his smile.

Hours later, it was finally time to do the garter/bouquet toss and cut the cake. It had been anonymously decided that Dimitri would toss the garter first. Liss had had two garters custom made for me as a wedding gift. The one I would keep was a white silk with a red lace overlay. She also had a pure silver charm put on it in the shape of a stake. The moment I saw it, I had fallen in love with it. The one I was wearing was also white silk, but it had a blue lace overlay instead of a red one and no charm. Dimitri blushed a very deep red before ducking his head under my dress to pull the garter off with his teeth. I laughed the entire time! When he pulled it off, he turned over his shoulder and fired randomly. It was quite a shock to see Nikolai catch it! This only made everyone there laugh.

Next, Dimitri and I would cut our cake. It was a three tier white and green wedding cake with intricate little swirls. We walked over and lifted the knife together. Then, we set it to the bottom layer of the cake and cut two little squares. We each held a piece and began to let the other eat. Dimitri lovingly let me eat the slice he was holding. When he went to bite into the piece I was to feed to him, I took it and smashed it in his face before he could figure out what I was going to do. I turned and began to run, laughing the entire time, but he caught me and spun me around to face him.

"That wasn't nice Roza." He said softly.

"No, but it was funny."

"Give me a kiss. Just one little kiss." When he said that, I knew exactly what he was planning to do.

"No, Dimitri don't! Please." I tried to pull away laughing, but I was no match for Dimitri at the moment.

Before I could blink, he pulled me forward and gave me a kiss. It was deep and sweet, but I think it was sweet because of the cake plastered to (now) both of our faces. I chuckled as he kissed me. We finally had to break apart to get air.

"There. Now we're even." I whispered to him huskily.

"Always."

After the cake had been divided among the guests and everyone had had enough, it was time to throw the bouquet. I walked onto the stage and called all the girls. When they all stood in front, or really below me seeing how I was on an elevated stage, I turned my back to them. I lifted my bouquet of white roses and lilies to smell them one last time before I gave them a good toss over my shoulder. To my amazement, it went right past the entire crowd of girls savagely fighting to get them and landed right in my mother's lap, where she sat beside my father. I started laughing immediately and couldn't pass on making a comment.

"Goes to show.. I love you Mommy!"

When all festivities came to a close, it was time for Dimitri and I to leave for our honeymoon. Dimitri had planned the entire thing, and I didn't even know where it was. Lissa had packed everything I might need, so my clothing didn't give me a clue as to what the climate might be. I guess you could say it didn't matter to me. All I cared about was that I would be with Dimitri. That was enough for both of us. As we ran down the makeshift isle that our guests had made, they tossed rice over us, wishing us prosperity in our new life together. Some believe it also signifies fertility, but with us being two dhampirs, that wasn't very likely.

Dimitri lifted me into his arms just as we were about to get in the limo, that Lissa had rented for us, before he sat himself inside, taking me with him. When the door closed and the limo began to drive off, we looked deep into each other's eyes.

"I love you, MY Roza." He whispered to me.

"And I love you, MY Comrade." I whispered back.

Okay guys! There is chapter 6. Please leave a review! I will not be posting another chapter until I get at least 5 for this chapter. I shouldn't have well over 1,000 views and 1 review per chapter.. It's a little ridiculous.

Also, I will be posting another story soon! I'm going to type up the first few chapters before I actually post it, but here is the gist of it:

Meet Me In The Moonlight: Rose and Dimitri are young wolf pups. They meet by the river in the moonlight every night. But, being the alpha's kid is never easy. When a turf war with a rivaling pack threatens, will Rose stay and listen to her father? Or will she follow her heart to a new life?

Anyways, that's all folks! Leave me some love!
