Chapter Seven: Movies
A/N: Okay let me start by saying I am so sorry it has taken me almost a year to update. You she something wiggy was going on with my computer and it wouldn't let me do anything, not open up pictures, or open the calculator, or open up word so I was unable to continue the chapter I was in the middle of. (I later found that I stopped mid-sentence, RAWR frustration) But now I have my baby back after almost a year of it sitting around my room doing nothing but gathering dust. So I hope you don't hate me and hope you enjoy the chapter.
"Ok now what is she thinking?" Henry asks his vampire friend while pointing to the blond in pink.
Vlad groans at his friend's request.
"What, you were told by Otis that you need to practice your mind telepathic powers; I'm just helping you with his request."
Vlad sighs and focus on the blond Henry pointed to before.
He takes a deep breath and reaches into the girl's mind, 'Man these shoes are so uncomfortable, but at least Mark will like it. Speaking of Mark, where is he? And also where's Jessica? If they're not he soon we'll miss the movie. I hope I have everything. Let's see….wallet with money, phone on silent, and plenty of tam-" Vlad couldn't listen to her thoughts any longer.
He leads against the wall with his face in the palms of his hands. Henry looks to his friend with questioning eyes. "What was she thinking?"
Vlad peaks out of his hands, his expression said it all.
"I don't want to know, do I?"
Vlad nodded.
"Was it really that bad?"
Vlad opens his mouth to tell his friend what was going through the girls mind, but was, of course, interrupted by Henry.
"Dude," he points ahead, "It's Jade and Sami."
Vlad turned his head and Henry was right; it was Jade and Sami, and they looked amazing. Sami in a long black T-shirt with a silver leopard, a short leather jacket, long necklaces, dark blue skinny jeans and combat boots; while Jade is in a white lacy dress that comes right above the knees, a denim jacket with leather sleeves and biker patches all over the denim on over the girly dress (giving it a more bad ass look), a single silver necklace, and loose black boots.
Vlad looks to Henry, whose mouth is open with amazement, then back at the girls. Vlad quickly checked to make sure his mouth wasn't hanging down like his friend. Thankfully it wasn't.
Once the girls got to them Jade takes Vlad's hand in hers and the foolish Henry places his arm around Sami's shoulder, but takes it off as fast as he puts it from the sudden piecing pain by Sami's blue painted nails.
Jade stands on her toes and kisses Vlad's cheek' "Hi there, been waiting long?"
Vlad smiles, "No, not really."
"So you guys ready? We're going to be late if we don't go soon." Henry says grabbing his in pain hand.
They start to walk off, but are stop by Jade, "What about Joss?"
"Yeah, what about Joss?" Sami echoed.
The boys completely forgot about Joss. Not the best way to be a good friend.
"Well, he better hurry and get," Henry pipes up, "we're going to miss the movie."
Right then Vlad spots his friend with a girl in hand, a girl him and everyone there knows, Meredith. Vlad's heart drops to the bottom of him. Joss and Meredith, why? Many questions go through his mind so fast, but it all stopped when he felt something squeezing his hand. He shook out of his train of thought. He looks down to his hand to see Jade's pale hand holding his tightly. He followed her hand, past her silver black stone ring, up the arm, neck, than her face; her distressed face, full of only worry.
Vlad squeezed Jade's hand back to insure her that he was fine, but she knew he wasn't by the look in his eyes.
"Hey," Joss cut off the two's movie drama moment, " Are we late."
"No, not at all," Henry stepped up and says.
Meredith gives a small grin. "Well that's a relief."
Jade steps forward. "It is a relief." She holds out her hand. "Hi, I'm Jade, I don't think we have formally met."
Meredith hesitated, but took Jade's hand. "It's nice to meet you."
Both girls stand there for a second smiling at one another until Henry stopped them. "We should get going, the movies starts in a few minutes."
They all laughed and head their way to the theater.
During the movie Meredith and Joss sat quietly next to Henry (who tried to do the yawn, stretch and put your arm over the girl move but failed) and Sami (who continue to dig her blue claws in his tan skin), whom the both of them sat in between Meredith and Joss and Jade and Vlad who snuggled against one another.
"That was a good movie," states Meredith, holding Joss's arm.
"Especially that one put scene with the crash," Henry added.
"I like the kissing scene the best," Meredith inputted. "What do you think Vlad?"
"Oh, um…. It was cool; we didn't really pay any attention." Vlad looks to Jade holding tightly to his hand and arm, but not looking at him. Jade was clinging to Vlad with what seemed like dear life; she really didn't want to let go.
Meredith looks to Jade, "What about you Jade, did you look at it?"
In a polite, but a little rude tune Jade answers, "Like Vlad said, we didn't really any attention."
Meredith's showed that she caught on, and she was about to say something, but interrupted by Sami. "Hey, it's late we should being heading home."
Everyone nodded and started to walk to the front of the mall.
Dark outside Joss, Henry, Vlad, Sami and Jade stand outside saying bye to Meredith; who was getting into her dad's car.
As she left Vlad turns to Jade. "Are you sure that you don't want us to take you guys home?"
Jade smiles at her boy, "Don't worry Vlad we'll be fine. We have our own way home."
Vlad grabs her hands. "I know I just wanted us to spend some more time together."
"We if that's all can meet you at your place."
"That would be great." Vlad didn't think of what he was saying. He can't bring a girl home this late, and without Nelly being home. What would she think if she saw him with a girl?
"Great. I'll be right back, I have to change. Come on Sami."
Both girls walk off to the bath room. When they were out of sight Vlad face palmed. "What did I just do? What if I sent the wrong message?"
Henry patted his best friend's back. "It's ok bro. I'm sure that she didn't get the wrong idea."
Vlad leaded on the brick wall and thought. And before the boys knew it there was Henry's older brother Greg pulls up to them.
"Come on guys I don't have all night guys."
All the boys climb in but Vlad is last. Right as Vlad is starting to get in he sees two girls on motorcycles. They pull up to the car and they both take off their helmets. Underneath hid Jade and Sami. The boys, all of them, even Greg, where jaw dropped impressed.
Jade smirked. "Leaving without us I see."
Vlad shook his head. "No, no."
"Alright then, I'll meet you at your place then. And Sami will follow you guys."
"Alright." Vlad gets into the car as Jade and Sami pull and strap their helmets.
Before taking off the girls ram the engine loud. Greg and the boys left first and Sami followed, but Jade took off and quickly got in front of Greg and the boys.
Within minutes Jade was out of their sights.
Vlad was the first to be dropped off. Walking up his driveway he noticed Jade standing there leaning on her bike. Like she had said she changed, she was in a simple black V-neck t-shirt and skinny jeans. Vlad could only smile to the thought.
"Wow," is what he manages to forces out.
"I know right."
"What type of bike is this?" Vlad asks taking a closer look at her red bike with a black dragon painted on the side.
"Nothing much, just your basic street bike."
"Cool."
"I know right." Jade gently grabs Vlad arm. "We should probably get inside."
Vlad's heart started to race. Oh man! She got the wrong idea. Jade turned around, show off her Harley-Davidson patch on the back of her jacket, and headed for the door. Vlad followed, slowly. I have to tell her before something goes wrong. He reached for the door knob with the key and unlocks the door. I have to tell her. Opening the door Jade walks in quickly. I have to.
Vlad goes to open his mouth, but was cut off by Jade, "So what do you want to do?"
Vlad looked confused. "What do you mean?" He closes the door behind him.
Jade looks around the living room as if she in search of something, probably an answer. "I don't know, do something together I guess."
Vlad walks over to Jade, gets close to her. He grabs her hands before saying, "I don't want to give you the wrong idea, I just…."
"You just what Vlad?" Jade places her hand gently on his neck. It sent shivers down his spine, but not in a bad way. It felt kind of pleasant.
"I just don't want you thinking that I'm, you know."
Jade gave a 'what are you talking about' look to Vlad, but suddenly realized what he was talking about. Vlad closed his eyes prepared for the impact of fist to face, but it never came. Instead there was only laughter, not anger or embracement, just happiness.
Vlad opens his eyes to see Jade sitting on the floor holding her stomach and on the brink of crying.
"Are you okay Jade?"
She tried to contain her laughter, but failed terribly. Within a few seconds she gathered herself together. "You thought that I thought that we were going to do it?"
Vlad nodded.
"That's hilarious."
"So you're not mad?"
"Why, should I be?"
"I don't know, I just thought you would be."
Jade giggles some more. "Vlad there's no reason for me to be mad at you. So let's drop this and do something."
Vlad smiles and takes Jade's hand. "Come on, I show you my room."
Jade turned her face to try to hide her blushing, too bad for her Vlad had already spotted the red. Jade walked closely behind Vlad up the stairs to his room. The door stood open and before walking in she could see his room. Her eyes are drawn to the bed first, slightly messy red sheets with matching pillows.
When walking in the room, Jade plops herself on Vlad's bed.
"Make yourself comfortable," Vlad remarks.
"Don't worry," Jade stretches like a cat, "I will."
Vlad chuckles a little before sitting next to Jade. They sat there silently for a few minutes on his bed.
"Your rooms nice," Jade interrupts the silence as she looks at the walls of Vlad's bedroom.
"It's kind of plan if you ask me," Vlad says. He looks around at his walls; they're fairly plain with only a few posters covering the white paint.
Jade smiles, "It's just really cozy." She snuggles close to Vlad's thigh. "Just really cozy."
Vlad moves Jade's blonde hair from her face. Her eyes were closed and she seemed at peace. For a few moments she stayed that way, and then she sprung up.
"It's to quite," she says as she stands up.
Vlad had a questioning look on his face.
"Let's do something."
"Like what?" Vlad asks.
"I don't know," Jade plops back on Vlad's bed and crossed her legs. She cups her chin her hand as she thought. Again they sat there in silence as they waited for an idea to come upon them. Suddenly Jade jumped back up.
"I got it!" she rejoiced.
"What?" Vlad questioned.
"Do you have any good movies?"
Vlad smiled. He grabs her hand and guides her to the cabinet full of DVDs him and Henry have collected over the years. Opening it Jade's face lit up with excitement. She nudged her way in the opening. With a quick glance her smile grew as she came upon one DVD case. She grabs it and hands it to Vlad with the biggest smile.
Vlad takes it, "The Avengers it is."
Vlad put in the disc and set up the TV while Jade kicks off her boots as she sits on the couch. Vlad hits the lights before sitting next to Jade.
For the next two and a half hours they watch the amazing movie and giggled as they made jokes about the puny god and Tony Stark's blueberries.
After the movie they said their good byes and Vlad watch Jade as she ribbed he engine out of her drive way.
Chess looks in her leather bound book.
'Vlad sighs as he closes the door. After downing a bag of blood he heads to his room. Vlad lays in his bed silently and drifts into sleep.'
"Did you have a good time?" a voice from behind asks.
Chess turns slowly to see her dear friend Shasa. "Of course I did. And you?"
Shasa smiles, "Yes, I quiet enjoyed digging my claws into the boy. Too bad it couldn't be my real ones." Shasa looks to her nails and back to her friend. Chess looks at her book with worry. "What's wrong?"
"I fear that the boy has his heart set in a different place."
"How so?"
"When that one girl was there, that Meredith, he seemed un eased. There was sadness and then jealousy when he saw her. I think," she took a breath; "I think he may love her." She hits the desk with anger. "Damn it!" She hits the wooded desk again. "Why can't this book give me thought? It be so much easier to know his thought so I wouldn't have to guess."
"If you look at the bright side," Shasa paces a friendly hand on Chess's shoulder, "you were able to fix that whole eye changing color thing."
Chess nodded. "True but I don't know for how long." She pulls up her red lacey night gown to show a small tattoo of a moon concealed by angel wings on her upper thigh. "I was able to find an alternative in my research that will last long than the potions I've been taking."
"How long will it last?"
"A few months, a few weeks maybe, I really don't know. Once the tattoo fades away so will the enchantment. Once that happened I'll have to redo the experiment." Chess runs her fingers through her hair. "God I'm hungry."
