"Dan, there's something that I need to tell you," Phil said as he looked over at Dan.

It's been a couple hours now since Dan arrived at Phil's house and since Phil and PJ told him about how Phil tried to commit suicide. Dan hasn't left Phil's side since they told him. He was still shocked that Phil had once tried to kill himself.

"Oh no, there's more?" Dan asked as he looked over at Phil.

PJ had decided to leave early so that Phil could talk to Dan alone, which Phil appreciated even though he was even more nervous as he was before because he had to do this on his own. He was never good at telling people how he felt.

"It's not as bad as what I told you before… I promise!" Phil assured him. He bit his lip, "you know how you asked me a while ago about if I had ever been in love with someone?" He asked nervously.

"Yeah. What about it?" Dan asked. He shrugged his shoulders.

"I kind of lied to you about not being in love," Phil said.

"Oh?" Dan asked. He bit his lip nervously as he stared at him. "So, either you have been in love before or you are in love with someone right now. Are you going to tell me more about this?" He asked curiously. Dan was a little disappointed. He had been in love with Phil practically since they started hanging out with each other. He wanted to tell Phil how he felt but he was too scared to say anything to him. He didn't want to make himself look like an idiot in front of Phil and screw everything up.

"I'm in love with someone right now but they don't know it," Phil said.

"This is interesting. Do I know this someone, by any chance?" Dan asked curiously.

"In fact… you do know this someone. Very well actually," Phil told him.

"It's not Chris or PJ is it?" Dan asked as he looked up at him.

"No! Oh my God… no! It's not Chris or PJ! They're my best friends!" Phil yelled. He quickly shook his head.

Dan threw his arms up in surrender. "I was just making sure," he said.

"It's definitely not Chris or PJ. Besides, they're totally in love with each other so I wouldn't have a chance with either of them even if I did like one of them. Anyways, I've only known this guy for a short period of time but I've really gotten to know him since we started hanging out together. He's a bit of a dork but that's what I love about him," Phil whispered.

Dan looked up at him. "He sounds like someone you would like," he said.

"He's actually sitting next to me right now," Phil said. He looked up at Dan and took a deep breath.

Dan's eyes went wide with shock. "A-Are you talking about me?" He asked.

"Who else would I be talking about?" Phil asked. He shrugged his shoulders.

"You actually like me like that? Really?" Dan asked. He sat closer to Phil.

Phil looked over at him and smiled. "I really do like you like that, and I-I was told by a certain someone that you felt the same way which is why I decided to tell you tonight," he said.

"Who told…? PJ! I'm going to fucking kill him later!" Dan yelled. He rolled his eyes.

Phil laughed. "But, I'm really glad he told me! I've liked you a while now, after we started hanging out… I really started to like you, and I just didn't want to say anything because I was afraid you wouldn't like me back and I didn't want our friendship to be ruined because you're one of my best friends now and you mean a lot to me," he said.

"You think I wouldn't have liked you back? Are you crazy?" Dan asked.

"Well, it's just… we haven't known each other for that long and I didn't want to rush you into a relationship so I wasn't going to say anything, especially when we're both so young. You've been through a lot and everything…" Phil told him.

Dan rolled his eyes as he listened to Phil ramble on. Dan could understand why Phil was so nervous about being in a relationship with him. Dan was worried about the very same things before, but then he talked to PJ. Dan really didn't want to have to worry about not knowing Phil that long, or being too young to be in a relationship. Dan just wanted to be with Phil and he wanted to be happy about it, especially now that he knew Phil felt the same way. Dan looked over at Phil and sighed. He quickly reached up and kissed Phil, immediately making him shut up. Phil was shocked but he nervously kissed Dan back. He gently and carefully wrapped his arms around Dan's waist and pulled Dan closer so that he was now sitting on his lap.

Dan finally pulled away from the kiss after a few seconds of just kissing. He took a deep breath as he stared at Phil with wide eyes, who was staring right back at him. Phil was just as shocked as Dan was. But, Dan couldn't believe that he had actually just kissed Phil. Phil was his first kiss and he couldn't be happier about it. "Wow," Dan breathed. He bit his lip slightly. "How does it feel to know that you were my first kiss?" He asked, still not taking his eyes away from Phil.

Phil couldn't help but smile. "I feel honored," he said.

Dan giggled. "So, does this make us boyfriends now?" He asked.

"Well, I would hope so… would you like to be boyfriends?" Phil asked, raising his eyes.

"I would very much so like to be boyfriends. I want you to be my boyfriend," Dan said confidently.

"Then I guess this means we're officially boyfriends," Phil said.

Dan smiled. He wrapped his arms around Phil and hugged him tightly but gently.

Phil laughed and immediately hugged him back. He wrapped an arm around Dan's waist and pulled him closer.

"I'm so freaking happy right now," Dan whispered as he sat down right beside Phil. He cuddled into Phil's sides. Dan and Phil had cuddled with each other before, but now Dan didn't have to hide back how much he wanted to cuddle Phil anymore.

"Well, you deserve to be happy after everything you've been through," Phil whispered as he pulled Dan closer to him again.

Dan sighed happily as he rested his head on Phil's chest. He glanced up at him and frowned when he saw the look on Phil's chest. "What's wrong?" He asked nervously as he sat up again.

"Nothing. I-I guess I'm just worried about what everyone at school is going to say. Chris and PJ went through hell when they came out as a couple. It took months before they people left them alone. I don't want that to happen to us," Phil said.

"The school will take care of us, right? The school doesn't allow bullying which is why I'm not so afraid of coming out in this school. I actually feel safe and protected here," Dan assured Phil.

"Sure, there are cameras around the school but that won't stop students from bullying us," Phil said.

"Who cares about what the other students say or do?" Dan asked.

"I-I don't. I just don't want you to get hurt. You told me about what you went through at your old school," Phil mumbled.

"I'll be fine as long as I'll be with you," Dan whispered. He reached over and grabbed Phil's hand, smiling as he held onto it.

"Are you sure?" Phil asked as he held onto Dan's hand.

"I'm absolutely sure. I've never been more sure of anything in my life,"

It was Monday morning. Dan and Phil were just arriving at school. Dan had spent the whole weekend at Phil's house, with his mother's permission. Dan and Phil didn't leave each other's sides once. They were just so happy to finally to be together. They hadn't even told Chris or PJ that they were now dating. They wanted to surprise them. But, now they had to worry about going to school and letting people know that they were officially dating. Dan wasn't really worried about anyone but Luke. He didn't care what Luke did to him, he just wanted him to stay away from Phil.

"I'm so not ready for this," Dan said as he and Phil walked up to the school.

"Just ignore people. Don't listen to anything bad that they say. We're happy and that's all that matters," Phil whispered as they walked up to the doors. Phil reached over and grabbed Dan's hand. Dan glanced over at Phil and smiled as he held onto Phil's hand. He loved being able to hold Phil's hand whenever he wanted to now. He just loved playing with Phil's fingers while they held hands with each other. It made him feel happy. Dan hadn't felt this happy in a long time.

"Here we go," Dan whispered. He took a deep breath as Phil opened the door. They both walked in without looking at any of the students. They just walked past everybody and went straight to their lockers, while holding hands still. Dan and Phil went to Phil's locker first. Dan bit his lip nervously as he stood by Phil and saw that people were whispering and staring at them. "Phil, people are staring at us," he said quietly as he watched Phil put books in and pull books out of his locker.

"Ignore them," Phil said as he looked over at Dan.

"It's very hard. I can't stand people staring at me. It makes me feel anxious," Dan mumbled.

Phil frowned as he stared at Dan. "Let's just go to your locker and get to class," Phil told him.

Dan took a deep breath and nodded. "Okay," he said.

Phil grabbed Dan's hand and then they went to Dan's locker. Once Dan had everything that he needed, they went up to Dan's first period class, where Phil would unfortunately have to say goodbye to Dan for a while.

"Don't pay attention about what anybody says to you, alright?" Phil warned gently as he and Dan walked up to the science classroom. "Especially don't pay attention to anything Luke says."

"I'll try my best but it'll be hard," Dan whined.

Phil chuckled and shook his head. "I'll see you next period. Peej should be here, I'm not too sure about Chris," he said.

"Alright. See you next period then?" Dan said as he looked up at Phil and smiled.

"Of course," Phil said. He leaned down and kissed Dan's cheek before he turned around and walked away from Dan.

Dan blushed as he watched Phil walk away from him.

"Faggots," Dan immediately looked over and glared when he saw Luke walk passed him. Dan finally turned around and then he walked into the classroom, thankful that the teacher was there so he wouldn't have to deal with Luke's antics. Dan walked over to his seat and sat down. PJ wasn't there yet which meant Dan had to sit by himself.

"Is it true, Howell?" Dan looked up and blinked a few times at the boy who was sitting in front of him.

"Is what true?" Dan asked. This boy 'Alex Day' had never spoken to him. Not once, since Dan arrived at this school.

"You and Phil Lester are dating? Everybody's talking about it," Alex said.

Dan shrugged his shoulders. "What if we are? What would be so wrong about that?" He asked.

"I swear I'm not saying that anything's wrong with it. I was just seeing if it were true or not. Everybody's talking about it. We haven't had a gay couple in this school since Chris and PJ came out," Alex said. "So, is it true?" He asked again.

Dan sighed in defeat and slowly nodded. "Yeah, it's true," he mumbled.

"It's cute, I always knew you two would get together eventually, I mean... you hang out with each other all the time." Dan looked over at Charlie McDonnell, who was sitting in the seat next to Alex. Alex and Charlie were best friends.

Dan couldn't help but smile as he looked up at Charlie. "Thanks," he said. He was glad that there were other decent people in this school apart from Chris, PJ and Phil. Dan had never really spoken to anyone else but maybe it was time that he did. Charlie seemed like someone he would be able to get along with, possibly Alex if they got to know each other. Dan would like to start making new friends. After all, he's been at this school for over a month now.

"It's disgusting," Dan was quickly shaken out of his thoughts. He looked over at Luke, who was sitting on the other side of the room. "Freaks like Howell shouldn't be allowed in this school." Luke snapped.

Dan bit his lip nervously. Luke wasn't going to make him cry. Not again.

"Yeah, well people like you shouldn't be allowed in this school either but they allow it anyways," Dan quickly looked over and smiled when he saw that PJ was now standing next to him with Chris. Dan was almost surprised to see Chris, considering how many days he's skipped school.

"Alright, that's enough now students. Cutforth, you can go to the principal's office…" The teacher warned.

Dan watched as Luke stood up from his seat, taking the note from teacher and then he left the classroom.

"You okay?" PJ asked calmly as he sat down next to Dan.

Dan slowly nodded. "Yeah. Thanks for stepping in," he said.

"No problem. So… you and Phil, huh?" PJ asked. He looked over at Dan and smiled when he saw Dan was blushing.

"It might have happened," Dan mumbled as he fiddled with his hands.

"Everybody's talking about you two," Chris said, also looking at Dan.

Dan immediately looked up at him. "Good things?" He asked.

"Good and bad. But, don't listen to what people in this school. Most of them are dickheads anyways," Chris said.

"Thanks Chris!" Chris looked up in front of him and laughed when he saw Alex and Charlie.

"I said most," he said. He shrugged his shoulders.

"Chris is right. Though I'm sure Phil's already given you some massive speech already," PJ said.

"Once or twice. He knows how nervous I get," Dan said.

"Well, I'm happy for you two," PJ said. He gave Dan a friendly hug.

Dan smiled and hugged him back. "Thanks. We wouldn't be together if it weren't for you!" He said.

"Well, you're welcome…" PJ said as he they pulled away from the hug.

"Oh shut up," Dan said. He laughed and pushed PJ playfully.
