Lost and Found?

Harry pushed herself back into the shadows, trying not to think if the pain shooting through the side of her ankle. Something told her the only reason she could stand was the adrenaline coursing through her veins.

"She has to be here." Dave stated from the other end of the room. "She just."

"Ok boy." Spikings held his gun out in front of him as he assessed the dank, smelly garage they had believed to be Harry's prison. "We followed them here, garage off the side of the motorway. Be patient."

"Sir."

Chas glanced across at Dempsey. He was worried sick about both his friends and knew there was nothing Dempsey wouldn't do to keep Harry safe. Even if it meant dying himself.

"One blue transit vans." The Scotsman shook his head. "What is it with blue vans? Do they scream nutcase or what?"

"Dunno, but this one isn't moving." Dempsey pulled out a pen knife before slashing three of the four tyres. Chas narrowed his eyes.

"She has to be in the garage."

"Chas, they could be anywhere. You know that. They could have met someone here, changed vans." Dempsey watched the sir hiss out if the tyres. He felt sick, he wanted to believe the traffic cops had seen Jones, that they were close to finding Harry.

"Could be." Chad agreed. "Look."

Dempsey followed his gaze to where Chas was pointing. Nodding once he pulled his gun out of his jeans before following his friend. His heart in his mouth he could barely hear the others as his pulse thundered in his ears. All he could think about was her.

Harry frowned for a moment, her ribs and back ached from the beating she had taken. Her clothes serving as knives as the fabric bit into her skin. She had heard Dave. She was convinced she had heard innocent, haphazard Dave. Smiling slightly she didn't know if it was her mind playing tricks. If it was she had no idea why her brain would come up with Dave as the rescuer. She rested her head against the cold, stone wall as she dragged air in and out her lungs. Dempsey had been right. A woman shouldn't be in SI10. None of the guys would have been kidnapped, not even Dave who was constantly in trouble of some sort. Bracing her hands against the wall she knew she was leaving. If she lived she'd have to, for the safety of her team. It was the only way she knew her friends would be safe. The press of metal against the side of her head with the familiar click of a safety catch being released.

"Stay quiet." Jones snapped as he gripped her upper arm. Harry narrowed her eyes, tempted to scream a warning out to Dave , not caring if it killed her. Jones pushed her forward, causing her to stumble as Spikings turned sharply.

"It's over." The Welshman called out. "You cannot use my team to satisfy a personal grudge. Let DS Makepeace go."

"Ah." Jones snapped as he dragged Harry further into the disused garage. "I don't think I will."

"Where's Julie? Is she dead now too?" Dave yelled.

"My Julie? The one who had the bright idea of using your weakness for her Gordon? Nah she's fine."

"She's on the way back to Scotland Yard." Chas snapped as he arrived with Dempsey still hidden the shadows. "Uniform dragged her away ten minutes ago, she's canny. Still playing the victim."

"No." He tightened his hold on Harry, pulling her in front of him. "No! You're lying."

"I'm not! We just sent her away. You want to talk to her?"

"What the Hell is Chas playing at?" Spikings hissed. Dave shrugged. Harry felt he world around her begin to fade away. Nothing seemed real anymore. Her knees began to give way as the voices around her became more and more angry. A single gunshot filled the air as the world turned black.
