Chapter VIII

Say Something, I'm Giving Up On You

By: Elsa Alicorn

Elsa woke up with a bunch of papers on her face. She was working all night. Again. Being a Queen has some good sides, but also bad sides too. Elsa was broken, but paperwork took her mind of Anna. Or at least a little bit. Also, Elsa had some time to think and she came to the conclusion. There was no point crying over something what happened. She promised herself that she'll fix it as soon as possible.

Elsa stood up from the chair. Her bun was messy and she had little ink on her face. She yawned as she walked to the bathroom to fix herself up. While she was cleaning her face, something popped up in her mind. She still didn't talk with Prince Dominik.

'Great way to leave a first impression.' Elsa thought was she wipedher face with a towel. She fixed her bun. After that, she grabbed long, sky blue dress that matched her eyes. It was her mothers dress. The dress was one of the few things that were left. Elsa sighed deeply, looking at the dress. After a few seconds she shook her head. She put the dress on and she fixed her makeup.

'Perfect' She thought was she looked herself in the mirror. After that she exited her room. She headed down to the dinning room. It felt... empty. Well, without Anna and Kristoff whole castle felt empty. Elsa sighed one again as she sat on a chair. Suddenly, the doors opened and young Prince entered the room. He surely had figure of the prince, just like Hans, except that he had blonde hair, Elsa noted.

'Hans...'

"Your Majesty" He bowed deeply before sitting down next to Elsa. Elsa gave him a light smile in return.

"Don't mind me asking, but shouldn't here be a young princess. Anna is her name?" He asked. Elsa bit her lip.

"Yes. But princess cannot come right now. She has some... duties to do." Elsa replied. She turned her head away. Prince simply nodded.

"So, how have you been?", she asked to break the silence. Prince smiled a little.

"Oh, everything was fine. How about you, Your Highness?", he asked. Elsa faked a smile.

"Oh. Same. And please, call me Elsa." Dominik nodded in return.

"All right then, Y- Elsa." Elsa smiled, but that time, it was real. "Well, let's eat before the food it gets cold!" Elsa nodded and they began to eat.

Dinner went pretty well. Even better than Elsa expected. After some time, they found themselves walking around the garden. In a few hours in Dominik's company, Elsa learned very much. Especially about him. For Elsa, it was a new experience. She never talked or had fun with anyone, besides her sister.
"You fell in... pig's mud? Elsa tried to hold back a laugh. Dominik chuckled and nodded.

"Yes. It was an accident. I smelled like pig days later. And you can laugh. It's funny." Elsa giggled at the thought. After some time, they sat on bench in middle of Garten. There was nothing much to see. Only snow. But they didn't mind it at all.

They sat like that in silence, until Dominik broke the silence.

"Oh, um. I heard some rumors about what happened before six months here. I heard many different rumors, so I want to ask you, what exactly happened?" Elsa was caught off guard after she heard the question. She wasn't expecting that question at all. She raised her head as she searched for his green eyes. She bit her lip, still not moving look from his eyes.

"Oh, that. Well... Um... I-"

"Queen Elsa!" Both of them turned to the owner of the voice. It was Gerda. She ran to them as fast as she could, sometimes slipping on ice. Elsa stood up with a worried look.

"My queen. Prince Dominik." She bowed quickly while breathing heavily. After that she signaled to Elsa to move aside so they can talk. Elsa muttered one 'excuse me' to prince as she moves aside.

"What's wrong?" Elsa asked, not waiting a second.

"You have to come back in castle. It's- I can't say it." Tears streamed down her cheek. "Just come." And with that, she ran back in the castle. Elsa walked back to Dominik.

"I am sorry, but I really have to go. I had a really nice time with you!" Elsa said in a hurry.

"Of couse. I see you're in hurry. See you later, Yo- Elsa" He waved her goodbye. Elsa gave him a little smile and with hurry, she ran in the castle.

When she came in, she saw Gerda standing in front of doors, probably waiting for her.

"Gerda! What happened?!" Greda didn't respond. She only pointed on her left. Elsa turned her head and saw Kristoff and guards who were holding something... red? With strawberry blonde hair... Elsa's eyes widened

"A-Anna?" She ran up to injured girl, but guards pushed her back.

"Your Majesty, please calm down. We're taking her to her room where she'll recover and we'll call our best doctors." Without letting Elsa to respond, he left. Elsa turned to Kristoff, who was hurt too.

"H-how?" She asked. Kristoff just shook his head.

"She- After I came back, she said that you visited her and she told me everything what happened. Also, she said that she had much time to think. She wanted to apologise to you and... She just wanted to go back... When we traveled, everything seemed fine. But then, wolves attacked us. I guess it was because we burned one last time, so they came for revenge. Anyway, they attacked us and... I tried to help Anna, but there were too many of them and in a matter of second one of them... you know. Sven got crazy and somehow, he made them run away..."He sighed heavily before continuing. "Anna is in trauma now, but she'll wake up soon. She is strong. One of strongest girls I've ever seen. She'll be fine." She could hear his voice crack at some parts. And she knew he cried. She could see it in his eyes.

Elsa silently nodded. After that she walked out on the balcony in the hall. And then she sat on the floor. She didn't care if there was snow under her or not. She just needed a time on her own.

'And when I thought everything was over. That all the pain is in the past. That isolation and fear are forgotten. When I thought life was going on better...' She closed her eyes. She sighed heavily, opening her eyes again. She looked up in the sky as she slowly narrowed her eyes.

"The cold never bothered me anyway."
