TheLetterbox

Twilight Sparkle had been rather baffled by the appearance of a peculiar thing out in the front of her library-She had gotten up early to begin her usual cataloging of the returned books into their proper shelves, when she saw it outside of her window...

A round, white Letterbox, similar to ones found in Trottingham. it had little golden swirls and golden designs over its top and bottom, the main slot outlined in gold, and a crescent shaped signal with the symbol of a letter resting in its curve. Twilight was awfully confused by its sudden appearance overnight, and even investigated it-there were no letters inside, no sign of the ones planting it here...and she had no idea what the symbol was-it didn't look like the logo of any mail company she ever heard about.

by the time noon arrived, she still had no idea where it came from. and Neither did her friends.

Yugi peeked into the slot of the letterbox, the girls (and Spike) surrounding him from behind in sheer curiosity. "So...it just appeared out of nowhere in front of the library..."

"Uh-huh."

"And you all have no idea where it came from?"

"That's right, Sheep Boy."

The small pegasus closed the slot. "And you don't know if a company in Ponyville put it down here?"

"Well, I asked Derpy earlier...but she didn't have an idea as to where it came from, and she said it wasn't from where she worked."

Yugi huffed. "Well, it beats me...I guess we could ask the Mayor."

"Actually," Twilight piped up, "I asked her earlier. She said she had no idea where it came from either-she didn't issue a letterbox to be placed here."

"Well...I guess we wait until a letter shows up in the box then..."

That was then the inside of the letterbox began to glow, a bit of white light seeping out of the cracks of the slot...and it had shot open, a letter flying out and smacking Yugi upside the head. Flustered, the Pegasus fell over, looking at the letter and the mailbox in confusion and bewilderment.

Twilight was the first to pick it up, looking at the wax seal in its middle, and opened it with her magic-and with it, she began to read it.

"Dear Elements of Harmony (And associated friends and family),

If you have successfully received and reading this letter, then the Letterbox is fully operational. That is a very good thing. This is your first letter to you all as apart of a...let's say, 'Social Experiment'. There are Residents outside of Equestria who have heard of you all and wish to know you better, or at least ask you questions. This is where this Letterbox comes in. This Letterbox is an enchanted kind, made specifically for those ponies with questions and those who answer them-I.E., you. It is a simple task to answer-when you receive a letter with a question, write back with your own response and drop it into the mailbox. No need to put an address on the letter or anything-there will be no return address on the letters you receive, and the names of the senders will always be codenames or hidden, in any anonymous cases. For anypony scared that you might be watched, there is no reason to fear that-we are not monitoring you. When this Experiment is over, this Letterbox with disappear. Until then-there is no set day or amount as to when and how many letters with questions you shall receive. You may answer in any form you'd like, however, and you may take your time on your answers, as there is no set amount of time as to when you should reply. You may also refuse answering a question of it is not your fancy. Thank you for taking your time reading this letter-I hope you enjoy the service of the Prism Mail company Letterbox. Have a nice day.

-L.P.o.A"

"L.P.o.A? who's that?"

"No clue...but, that kind of sounds fun! I've never been signed up for a Social Experiment before!" Twilight said with a smile.

"Well, I suppose it wouldn't be all terrible-Especially if there are ponies out there that wish to know more about yours truly, of course." Rarity spoke, fluffing a curl of her mane.

"...I guess I'm okay with it...I mean...It would be okay to answer a few questions..."

"Well, It gives me somethin' to do when Work's slow at Sugarcube Corner!"

Yugi put a hoof to his chin, mulling it over. "I guess it wouldn't hurt. How bad would the questions be, anyways?"

"Ah reckon we send a reply, though? Ah mean, If we're gonna be takin' this on, maybe we should let 'em all know?"

Twilight nodded. "Good idea, Applejack. Let me go grab a quill..."
