Short Explanation of Zero District: On the inner walls of ZD the first area you notice is "Free World". Free World is the most wildest part of ZDs wonderful attraction. Bar fights, gambling halls, robbery (armed or not) and rape usually took place all in this specific location. It isn't a place that weak men and attractive ladies should wonder around. Further midwest on the highest peak of the largest mountain oasis is an infamous hand to hand combatic dojo called "Saru's Temple". It is said that the master who reside over ST is one of the greatest fighters in the world. Every challenger that fights him usually gets eradicated and often becomes a disciple under him. Further northwest of the island is "Red Zone" it is a legal prostitution zone. Females are either forced to become prostitutes because of money trouble and family issues or they are kidnapped and threaten by their pimps to make them money for their freedom. Red Zone is pretty much a bunch of hot tube parlors and love hotels with hundreds of super seductive ladies waiting to fulfill fantasies. The last area of Zero District is "Castle Redemption". Rumors has it that whoever lives in that notorious castle is the secret underground boss of the entire island. Locals of ZD that own businesses and other "sorts" are require to pay a 20% living fee every month or else. It is say that everybody that tries or tried to oppose these payments are utterly destroyed by the castle's 3 most powerful butlers who collect the payments. The locals who seen the men in action first hand calls them "Satan's fallen angels". Nobody tries to oppose the wishes of the king of the castle because not only of fear of the three butlers but also because of the 200 bloodthirsty pirates under his almighty control. So yupppp there it goes my short (sarcasm) explanation of Zero district. No I'm playing but I really think this information was needed so you can have a better visual of ZD unique structure. Now off to chapter 21 we go.!
Chapter 21: Information Is BARlow Average
(Inner Zero District ~Free World~)
The gang entered through the gigantic doors like a couple of tourist hoping to find undiscovered treasure. the first thing they noticed was a man being cannonballed right out of a small purple bar with the initial 'D.E.B.O' placed in the front of the building painted in Zebra strips.
"Yuu wunn suum ovf mees!" Slurred a drunk man nearly tipping over himself. "Cumm gezzt summ azzhooo." The drunkard now wobbling unsteadily fingered the other man to come after him using his index and middle finger as the bait.
"You want a fight you drunk bastard," said the man slowly standing up while dusting off his clothes "Well your wish is granted mota'fuka!" The man pulled out a small katana from his sleeves and charged at the drunken man with the intent to kill him. Carlos quickly noticing this jumped in the air while shooting the katana out of the man's hand in a split second. The now unarmed man simply pissed his pants and fell to the ground.
"W-W-Who are you jackass?" Said the man completely scared for his life from what he just witnessed.
Carlos smirked at the man's frighten attitude while placing his Flank gun inside his side hoister "My name is Carlos Hathcook and I refuse to let you kill a drunk man while I'm around...got that," The man quickly nodded his head and took off running back inside the bar.
"And you if I catch you drinking another sip I'll put a bullet on that winkle forehead of yours." Carlos stated so creepily that the drunken man tried to run away at full speed, but instead tripped over himself and fell right into some random dog poop on the ground. Ken was still in the group of men on the other side of the bar but his laughter from what he just witness was truly...uncontrollable.
"HAHAHAHAHA...did you...did you...just...see...that," said Ken while falling to the ground holding his stomach breathless "He...just...fell in...doggy shit...HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Ryu was also laughing at the sight of the drunk pooped-face man who managed to stand up disparately trying to find an imaginary towel to clean his face. Doctor Gantz and Carlos on the other hand face palmed at the same time.
"Didn't I tell you not to leave my side I could of been killed," Gantz argued at Carlos who was now sitting on the edge of a tree stomp slumped over "What if that little fight between them random guys was meant as a distraction for someone to sneak up and assassinate me?" Gantz explained noe worried out his mind still scanning the small crowd of onlookers for unusually activities.
Carlos just yawned at the Doctor then pointed towards Ken who was on the ground next to Ryu literally crying a river as the drunkard stumbled in the next bar hitting his head hard on the door sending his body colliding with the ground face first "You still don't noticed it huh you ungrateful idiot? My captain's MIGHTY SIGNAL has been around your body since we walked in Zero District, no way possible anybody could sneak up to you without Ken noticing. He even noticed the man getting thrown out of the bar before me and also gave me the order to go 'check up' on it. In other words don't ever doubt my captain and don't ever doubt me if I'm under my captain's leadership...understand white coat bastard?" Carlos finished firmly staring at the doctor with a cool demeanor look on his face. Gantz directed his focus towards Ken in disbelief wondering how can this kid be so prepared in such a short amount of time?
Ken, who was finally out of his intense state of laughter jumped off the ground with a determine smile growing on his face. His spiky yellow hair glowed beautifully in the sunlight catching the crowd hearts in a instant...especially this one girl stuck in the middle of the crowd. Her eyes grew denser as she looked at Ken's outfit in an amazement only master Toguro, the underground boss of Zero District would wear such foreign clothing here, where did this man travel to get this look?
"I need to hurry up and buy grocery before that bastard Toguro tries to kill me this time," Her big brown eyes were now scanning the top of Ken spiky hair and his facial feature. "He's so so handsome...oh shit I keep forgetting what I'm suppose to be doing that demon is going to kill me!" Said Cerise as she was blushing and hitting herself in the arm trying to overcome her feelings inside with outer pain. It worked just good enough for her to travel behind the crowd and back into the Meat Market.
"Who is that man?" Wondered Cerise still blushing from the pounding sound in her chest could this be...love at first sight? "No no no this isn't a romance movie no way in hell...I control men emotion not the other way around. I have to go finish shopping!" With that Cerise disappeared farther inside the shopping district. "Aye Capt'n are you ready to go inside yet I need a drink or two plus those dark clouds looks ready to piss on our forehead." Said Ryu eying Ken who was simply scratching his unnatural hair while point towards the clouds In the sky. Carlos and Gantz both nodded their heads in agreement with Ryu even though they knew 95% of the reason he wanted to go inside was simply liquor...it showed on his face subconsciously. "Ok guys let's go inside the bar, remember where here because we need to find information about Zero District. Gantz I'll leave the Den Den Mushi in your hands just in case the warlord contact you so stay close to the exit," Doctor Gantz agreed "Carlos I need you to ask customers around the bar for information even if it means giving a little money away, here's 1900 beris and 3 gold coins," Carlos caught the money Ken through at him and nodded his head firmly "Finally Ryu you'll be with me; I have a bag of gold pieces in my pocket hold it for me while I'm talking with the bar tender, if he request more money give it to him BUT if he doesn't give us any useful information were taking our money back by force...we are pirates!" Ken threw the money at Ryu with a smile on his face, Ryu smiled back. This was the captain he loved and knew! "Ok men let's GO!" The four men marched in the bar, Gantz took the nearest seat to the door next to the gambling table, Carlos sat next to a table full of woman with a fake joyous smile on his face while Ken and Carlos marched towards the front of the bar with an aura that could kill a elephant and it's twin brother. "What do you kids want," blurted the bartender as he was looking around at all the shady looking men who just recently sat down at the same time "It seem from the look of thing you have a problem with my bar am I right or could it be you two are simply angry drinkers perhaps?" The man finished while grabbing a shot glass and a clean rag from underneath the counter. Carlos glared at Ken who quickly nodded his head in agreement "Me and my friend here are new to Zero District, I'm in need of information of the sites around town so I could have some 'fun' while visiting..do you mind?" Announced Ken as he kicked up his feet on the chair next to him, the Bartender looked at Ken action with a rising smirk growing on his face. "You really think information about such a secretive island such as ZD is cheap, huh sport? If you want me to say anything more boy; buy a drink and have a lot of cash magically appear in my face." Taunted the man rudely knowing that a kid around his age wouldn't have much money especially after arriving on this island. "Carlos can you hand me two of the smaller gold coins in that bag please." Stated Ken as he was still staring at the bartender awkwardly. Carlos nodded his head while reaching into his pocket pulling out a dirty brown bag, he reached inside the bag an pulled out two sparkly gold coins while tossing them to Ken. "Thanks," said Ken while catching his treasure, everybody inside the Bar eyes became bigger than usually and a money hungry look appeared on the stranger faces. "Ryu if anybody attack me or Carlos can you watch our backs, me and the bartender have unfinished business." Ryu smiled as he acknowledged Ken as his leader happily "Aye Aye Cap'n I have your back no matter what !" Two of the customers who was sitting down near the side of the bar rushed toward Ken In hopes of stealing the money from him, from nowhere Ryu pulled out his sword Rakurai and in a split second he sliced the air into two while screaming out "RAKURAI PARA: ZERO MOTION" an invisible thunder shock chased the men hitting them directly in the core of their backs. Instead of dying their bodies wasn't moving at all..they were paralyzed. "If any of you bastards try to attack those two guys over there again I'll kill you!" Said Ryu angrily while purposely kicking the two men off their feet and into the ground...the other customers were beyond scared now. "He's kinda over did it don't you think Ken?" Said Carlos as he faced palmed at Ryu's unnatural stupidity. "It's alright he's trying to protect us in his own way. Now mister Bartender will you explain to me everything relating this island please?" Ken smiled while clapping at the same time he said 'please'. The awkwardness the Bartender once felt was died out by fear and greedy. "Ok I'll tell you everything you want to here for 5 gold coins plus everything you and your men order is on the house ok?" Said the bartender hoping Ken fall for his trap without questions, but Ken wasn't a idiot he knew the prices of the gold he owned and how much it's worth on the streets "I'll give you 2 gold coins and 900 beris for that information I asked for and a house special for me and my crew understand? If not I could get that man in the back of me to get that information out of you for free you know?" The man looked at Ryu's face as if it was the devil himself and almost passed out. "Ok I'll tell you everything just please don't hurt me..!"
(20 minutes later)
"Hmmm Castle Redemption I see...is that where the underground boss lives?" Stated Carlos as he processed everything in his head like it was a game. The bartender fear stricken nodded his head unsurly. "I need 5 more cheese burgers mister," ordered Ken as the poor bartender finally figured out that the two gold coins and 900 beris couldn't cover THIS man eating problem. "I want to visit monkey land and fight the leader over their Hehehehehe ! You sure that's everything right mister Bartender? If your lying or not telling me everything I'll come here again and eat ALL your food next time, ok?" Smiled Ken as he was rubbing his stomach in a fiendish way. The bartender cried inside. From nowhere a Den Den Mashi started ringing at the front of the bar, Gantz looked at it in panic. Ken rolled off the chair slowly, his stomach now looked like a mini mountain. He started walking toward Gantz and once he was close enough he karate chopped the doctor in the head "Get it together Gantz ! This is important...tell him that you have personal bodyguards with you for your own protection and also you need to know the meet up place right away. We have your back, the entire Golden Spirit Crew!" Gantz looked at Ken who was now smiling at him happily and without noticing it a smiled creeped on his own face. He nodded his head in agreement wiping a tear from his left, without trouble he picked up the phone and said "Hello can I help you?"
