Hi guys, I'm sorry that it's a little short but I hope you enjoy, and aren't too mad at me.
Alverna
The door to Caroline's room was open just a crack. I peeked though it and saw her lying on the bed, feverish and clammy. Niklaus was holding her hand and whispering in her ear. I could barely hear the words. "Shhh, it's okay love, I'll fix this," He mumbled pressing his lips to her forehead. She relaxed for a moment then let out a whimper, "Make it stop Klaus, make it stop," she sobbed. I waited a few seconds then opened the door wide enough for me to enter.
I could see tears flowing from Caroline's blue eyes and tear welling in my brothers. "Alverna, what are you doing here" he said wiping the moisture from his eyes. "It's time," I said simply. He stood then slid his arms under Caroline's slim body and lifted her up. We blurred into the sitting room, where Henrick had set up the spell. Marina was in the room. "Thank you," I said to her as she started to leave. The Russian witch smiled then walked out.
"Wake her up," Henrick commanded mixing the quartz power into the mixture of blood, ash and herbs. I twisted her wrist, and she hissed in pain before trying to bite me. "Hurry Henrick the venom will take over again soon," I said avoiding her fangs. He poured the potion down he throat and she passed out. "Now we have to kill her," Henrick said picking up a stake form the table beside him. "Wait, what if you got the components wrong and she doesn't wake up," Niklaus said stepping in front of Caroline's still body. "Brother, she's dying, this is the only option." I said placing my hand on Niklaus's shoulder, he looked at me with fear and anger in his eyes. I made a choice to protect my friend. I snapped my brothers neck and told Henrick to stake Caroline. "God I hope I made the right choice," I murmured to myself as Henrick plunged the stake into Caroline's heart.
Klaus woke up before Caroline did and he almost levelled the house before falling to his knees beside Caroline's still form. He sat there for hours waiting for her to wake up. He started to lose hope and a tear slid down his cheek. "I'm so sorry brother," I said. Sorrow and regret was the only thing I felt. "It's my fault. I killed Caroline. Me. If I had of just listened to you and not..." I said tear sliding down my face and my voice breaking. "No, it was Mikael. He compelled her to get bitten this is his fault, not yours," He said wiping a tear from my check.
My eyes met his and anger and a thirst for revenge filled my heart. "I think it's time we brought the war to him, I'll cash in the favours the Salvatores owe me," I said. "And I'll tell our family," He finished. He left and I knelt beside Caroline body. I picked her up then blurred to the basement. Henrick's coffin was still in there so I placed her in the thousand year old box. "I promise, I won't let him hurt Niklaus. Sleep well Sister," I whispered before closing the lid and leaving my friend in the darkness.
I threw open the door to the Salvatore house and stomped into the living room. "Stefan! Damon! Enzo!" I called. "You know a phone call would have sufficed," Enzo said from the stair way. His smirk disappeared when he saw my face. "What's wrong?" He asked pulling me into an embrace. I let him hold me and told him everything that happened. Damon and Stefan showed up then. Enzo told them about my latest tragedy. "My father is the reason she's gone, I need your help to kill him." I said holding my head high and stepping away from Enzo. They nodded and followed me back to the house.
My siblings were assembled and apparently Kol had called some back up of his own, Clara. I nodded in acknowledgement to her and she greeted me in the same fashion. She was brandishing Star Blade and had a determined look on her face. Sage was clinging to Finn and he had a giant sword slung over his shoulder. Elijah and Niklaus weren't armed but Rebekah had stakes and little explosive vervain bombs hanging from her belt.
We didn't have a plan, it was more of a strategy; Find Mikael, Overwhelm him then sink my white oak stake into his cold heart. "Why do you have that thing?" Rebekah asked shying away from the stake. "I made it from a chair we had back when we were human, strangely most of our furniture was made out of that old tree," I told them. They accepted my white lie as the truth and we moved on. Marina was sitting on the floor with candles surrounding her and a map of the county in front of her. My blood moved around on the map as she chanted. Henrick was watching her, fascinated by her particular brand of magic. Our family had come from western Europe where fire and earth were the main elements drawn upon but Russian magic took it's power from fire and water. That was why there was a bowl of water beside Marina.
"I found him," She said opening her eyes and letting the flickering candles go out. "He's in the graveyard." Marina told us. I thanked her and helped her to her feet. She smiled at me then I turned to Henrick. "You are staying here little brother," I told him, seeing the determined and vengeful expression on his young face. "But-" he started to say, but I interrupted him, "This isn't a democracy, it's a dictatorship now go to your room little brother." He glared at me then stormed off. "Marina would you mind putting him to sleep until we get back, I don't want him hurting himself trying to be a hero," I said after Henrick had left. She smiled and said, "Of course," then headed to my little brothers room. "Well, are we ready?" Niklaus asked impatiently. Everyone nodded and the vampires sped off to the graveyard. Clara and I were the only ones left, "Here take my hand," I said offering the hunter my arm. She took it and I blurred to the graveyard with her holding onto me.
Hope
"Grandfather, what are we doing here?" I asked surveying the tomb he had brought me too. It was dusty and covered in cobwebs. So really just your standard old, spooky tomb "Patience child," He said opening the stone coffin and digging though it. I wanted to say, "I'm tired of waiting, I've been waiting for a thousand years," but instead I just nodded and kept my thoughts to myself as usual. I heard a commotion from outside, so I took a step towards the entrance. "Stay put," He snapped at me before leaving. Obviously the intrusion had caught him off guard. I did as I was told, although I hated it. According to Grandfather my rebellious nature had come from my father, but he wouldn't tell me who my dad was. Apparently at a nine-hundred and ninety-seven I wasn't old enough to know. I snorted at that.
Growls and hisses echoed down the tomb and I grew concerned for Grandfather. I began to walk up the steps when I heard, "It's your fault Father!" I froze. Father?could that angry voice be my father, at the very least my uncle. "I should have killed you when you were a babe," I heard Grandfather say. I cruel laugh echoed down the steps. "Sometimes I wish you had," the voice form before said. I ran up the steps and emerged into the graveyard and saw a strange sight. Eleven people surrounded my grandfather. He was on his knees and one of them held a white stake to his heart.
"No!" I yelled running to him. I pushed past a human and snatched the stake out of Grandfather's attacker. "Leave him be!" I shouted feeling my fangs come out and my nails extend into claws. All but two of the vampires surrounding me flashed their fangs and took a step forward. The two who were standing closest to me hadn't revealed their fangs. "Niklaus she's like you," The chestnut haired woman who had been about to kill my only family breathed. I was confused they weren't attacking. "How?" A blonde hair man said, talking a step towards me. "Stay back!" I said wielding the stake I snatched from the woman with the chestnut hair. He put his hands up in a surrendering gesture. "I presume that she's my niece, daddy dearest," the woman said. "The likeness between her and Klaus is amazing," She continued. "What?" I said lowering the weapon. "Don't listen to them, child," Grandfather said, "they're trying to kill me." I raised the weapon again.
"Stop filling her head with lies like you did ours father," A man with dark eyes said stepping forward. I looked at him and saw something odd. He had the saw facial structure as Grandfather. I looked at the other six people standing closet to me. They had similarities to grandfather that was disturbing. I saw him in their eye colour and cheekbones and also in their hair. All of them except one the blonde man looking at me in astonishment and wonder. "They are your children aren't they," I said accusingly at Grandfather. "They were before they became monsters," He said rising to stand at my side. "You turned us into this," the tallest one said disgust in his voice. A red haired vampire stepped beside him and took his hand, trying to comfort him.
I was unsure of who to trust. I studied the blonde man again and realised why I didn't see Grandfather in him. I saw my face. I had his blue eyes, golden hair and full lips. "Hello," He said when he caught me starring at him. "You lied to me," I said "You said they were all dead, including my mother." "They are," Grandfather said. I turned to face him and then I took a step back. Towards the blonde man -who from the chestnut haired woman's comments I presumed was Niklaus- and away from my grandfather. He scowled at me. "Your picking them over me!" he screeched, anger flaring in his eyes and hate burning there. "HOW DARE YOU! I RAISED YOU! YOU UNGREATFUL SCUM!" he shouted lunging at me. Out of reflex I thrusted the stake into his heart.
He fell backwards clutching at the wood that was sticking out of his chest. The vampire who was holding hands with the red haired woman scrambled forward to catch him. I thought he was going to pull out the stake but he shoved it deeper and said "That was for mother." I screamed. Niklaus was by my side in an instant. He enfolded me in his arms and pressed my head to his chest. I relaxed in his embrace with tear flowing down my face. He held me and smoothed down my hair, all the while whispering that I was safe and everything was going to be alright. For some reason I believed him.
