"Rey! Halloween's coming up, you know what that means!" Leo called. "Horror movies!"

Reyna set her jellybeans down gently. "Leo, did Jason give you Oreos again?"

Leo looked at her with wide eyes. "No, I got them myself. But he did give me about 20 horror movies. Will you watch them with me? Pleeeeeeaaaaasssse?"

"Fine, I'll watch one."

Leo punched the air with his fist. "Yes! We're watching Scream first."

"The one with the guy in the white mask?" Reyna asked.

"Yep, it's supposed to be good."

Reyna grabbed the DVD Leo was holding and carefully put it in the DVD player. "Sit down, crazy, we're getting this over with."

Leo sank down on the couch next to her, cradling a newly popped bowl of popcorn. "Let's get this party started."

Reyna laughed hysterically as the girl on the screen screamed and ran. "She's so stupid! I didn't know someone could be so stupid."

Leo cringed as the screen suddenly flashed to the guy in the Scream mask. "This is creepy."

"What? Leo, it's really fake," Reyna gestured to the movie where the girl was trying to escape through a dog-door. "If a crazy murderer was after you, would you try to crawl out of a dog-door attached to a garage?"

Leo shook his head. He flinched again as the mask guy pressed the button to raise the garage door. "Ewwwwww." Fake blood splattered the camera as a disgusting crunching sound echoed out of the speakers.

"Well, she's dead," Reyna pointed out calmly. Leo nodded, looking slightly sick. "Hey, another victim." Reyna watched in fascination as the boy on screen screamed before being stabbed to death.

"I don't like this movie," Leo groaned. He rolled so his face was pressed into Reyna's shoulder. "It's freaky."

Reyna sighed. "You've fought in wars, Leo. A stupid movie scares you?"

Leo nodded.

"Fine. I'll shut it off."

"Thank you," Leo murmured into her shoulder.

Reyna patted his hair awkwardly. "It's okay," she paused. "Scaredy cat."

"I am a scaredy cat," Leo said woefully.

"Yeah, you are. How 'bout we watch some Psych."

"Yes please."

Reyna switched it on. "Which episode are we on?"

"The one with the insane girl."

"Are you sure it won't scare you too much?"

"I can manage."

They challenged each other during the next 4 episodes to see who could find the hidden pineapple first, and who could catch the most popcorn in their mouth.

"I like this a lot more than horror movies," Leo said, still chewing on his popcorn.

"It's be nicer if you'd stop talking with your mouth open."

"You'll have to deal with it, Rey."

"Of course I will, Valdez. I can always kill you if it gets too bad."

"How reassuring."
