"I'm sorry … Aang." Jet apologizes, after Long Feng hits him.

"Don't be." Aang replies.

The rest of the group runs in, they are all struck with sorrow as they see the state Jet is in. Katara is trying to heal Jet with her waterbending, but she says, "This isn't good." The group looks crestfallen.

"You guys go and find Appa. We'll take care of Jet." Smellerbee tries to get the gang moving, but they seem torn.

"We're not going to leave you." Katara says, trying to not cry as she watches her former love dying on the floor.

"There's no time. Just go. We'll take care of him. He's our leader." Longshot says, trying to get everyone to hurry. The group looks shocked when they hear Longshot speak for the first time.

"Don't worry, Katara. I'll be fine." Jet offers her a small smile. He knows he won't be, but he doesn't want them to worry. Team Avatar looks conflicted, but they leave anyway.

"He's lying ..." Toph whispered to Sokka as they leave.

Smellerbee is crying over Jet, he is telling her that everything will be fine, but the confidence is leaving his voice, Longshot pulls an arrow out of his quiver, just incase any more Dai Li agents come. Team Avatar is gone, off in search of Appa. Smellerbee looks up at Longshot, tears are streaming down her face, before looking back at Jet.

"NO! You can't die!" She is yelling at Jet

Smellerbee is still kneeling next to Jet crying, he looks at her and says, "Its ok, there is nothing we can do. I want you two to move on with your life and be happy." He offers her a smile, she nods tears still running down her face, she gets up and stands behind Longshot, she can't look.

Longshot now has tears spilling from his eyes on to his face; Jet smiles at him, before closing his eyes for the last time.

There is no sound, besides the sobbing of Smellerbee as she hugs Jet. Then Longshot picks him up and they carry him out of Lake Laogai.

A/N This was originally going to be a story about Jet living, but I changed it to what happens after Team Avatar leaves. The first part of the story is the transcript from the show.
