Chapter 6: the decision.

Bruce now has to make a decision whether to keep Jason at the mansion or kick him out even though he is severely injured. Will Jason recover or will he die once again? Will Bruce kick Shaya out for helping Jason who is now a killer or will Jason be welcomed back with open arms? Will Jason and Shaya continue their relationship or will it end?

I made it back to the batcave in record time and ran upstairs before Alfred even could ask me what was wrong. I took off my robin costume and changed into my pajamas and flung myself onto my bed sobbing. I was miserable knowing that Jason was a murderer Bruce wouldn't care whether or not he killed criminals he'd more than likely hate him no matter what. A while later I heard a knock at my door and heard Bruce's voice say "Shaya can I come in?" I was still extremely mad at him for yelling at me and said "what are you going to do; yell at me some more?" I could hear Bruce sigh and say "look I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier but you have to be more careful when you go after someone especially someone like Jason."

I told him to come in and he sat down on the edge of my bed and I said "do you hate Jason?" Bruce shook his head and said "he's taking everything I've taught him and twisted it he's a killer, but no I don't hate him but I really don't want to keep him in my house for very long at least until he's healed." I said "Bruce are you serious it's going to take months for him to heal completely. Is he still unconscious? Is he going to be okay?" Bruce said "we don't know yet he's in really bad shape but we think he'll pull through Doctor Lance is doing surgery on him right now." (Doctor Lance is the doctor that helps the entire bat family when we are in need of medical attention far greater than what Alfred can offer. She tried saving Damien when the Heretic stabbed him through the chest but he died on the operating table there was nothing she could do to save him)

Bruce left and I laid back down and soon drifted off to sleep I heard a quiet beeping sound coming from the room next to mine and crept outside of my room and slowly pushed the neighboring room's door open and saw that the room was made up like a hospital room even including a hospital bed and saw Jason hooked up to a bunch of machines including a respirator I walked to the side of the bed and grabbed his hand and whispered "welcome home sweetheart I've missed you." and kissed him on the forehead. I crept back into my room and collapsed onto the bed and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was fast asleep. I woke up early the next morning and went downstairs and saw Bruce sitting at the dining room table and said "morning." He put down the newspaper he was reading and said "you're up awfully early." I said couldn't sleep well I'm worried about Jason." Bruce said "I've been thinking and when he wakes up as long as he follows the rules he can stay in the mansion and I may let him back on the team which reminds me I'm bumping you up to nightwing you're getting a little old to be called robin." I said "you're really going to make me nightwing?" Bruce said "yes you deserve it." I smiled at the honor of being nightwing.

Bruce said "I'm having Alfred make your costume. So it'll be ready for you when needed." I silently thanked Bruce and went back upstairs to my room and eventually fell back to sleep I was exhausted from the night before.
