In the name Arax its AR as in car not A as in day, so Ahrrax not Ayrax.

Jay's/Arax's POV

Rage and horror filled me.

"She was just a child!" I yelled and I felt my voice getting deeper as I shouted. I looked down and saw my claws glint red in the sun. I looked her dead in the eyes and roared.

"You're right I can't hide it, I am ARAX!" I pounced on to her glittering shape and rolled her over. Gripping her shoulders I dug my back claws into her stomach, leaving deep gouges. Her eyes glinted with pure hatred and fury. She slashed me across the chest knocking me off balance. I looked down and saw her claws dripping with dragon blood. She forced me over and held me down. I struggled, but Mahzara was bigger than I was. She opened her mouth ready to give the killing blow, but she hesitated. A pained look crossed her face and a faint glow came from her throat. She fell away from me and landed on her side. I heard a tearing sound and her stomach was rent wide open. A shining form stepped out. The glow dimmed and I realized it was a girl. She looked about sixteen and was dressed in shining silver battle armour. In her hand was a intricately decorated silver sword. Who is this girl?

Luna's POV

What happened? Wait, where am I? I looked down and noticed something off. Was I taller? What am I wearing? I felt hot breath on my face and looked up. A scarlet dragon was staring at me. I pointed my sword at it defensively. Surprised it snorted a small flame at me. The flame licked around me, it was warm but didn't harm me. The dragon looked confused. It carried me to its face and tilted its head at me. There was something about it.

"Wait, are you… Are you Jay?"

"L-Luna?" He started to shrink. His scales melted into his skin leaving him wearing a red shirt and jeans. His hand was holding my wrist.

"Luna," He said again, letting go of my wrist. "What happened to you?" I looked down again.

"I don't really know," I answered honestly. Anger rose up inside me, "But this," I gestured about me, "Is all your fault!"

"I can't explain now," He looked sad and pained. Rightly so, in my opinion. "We need to find somewhere to stash the bag and..."

"Oh yeah. What a great idea get into a bag with a lying dragon."

"Luna!"

"Yeah great idea Jay or should I call you Arax?!"

"Luna," he said again, quieter this time. He was clutching his chest, "I'm so sorr…" and he passed out. His hand came off his chest covered in blood.

"Oh crap!" I picked him up, quite easily to my surprise, and attempted to get him down the ladder with out dropping him on his face. I was successful, with the getting down the ladder part anyways. I then shouldered the bag and went to find a safe place for it. I stashed it under the roots of a large tree and climbed in. There was already a small puddle of blood. I heaved him onto the bottom bunk of one of the beds. I slowly pealed off his shirt revealing three deep scores that stretched from his right shoulder to the top of his left hip. I sucked in a breath. Oh gosh, I don't know how to heal. I grabbed my sword and willed it to become a horn again. It was longer and slimmer than I remember. I looked to my right and noticed a smaller horn lying on the ground, but wait this isn't my first horn either. What on earth?! Whatever, we have something more important at hand. I placed the horn to the gash and waited. Nothing happened. Hmmm.

"Abracadabra!" I yelled and the bleeding stopped. Curious. "Shamble bobble dibble dooble!" I tried desperate for something. The skin around the cuts started to twitch and it wove together forming three long ropy scars.

"This'll have to do." I sighed. How does Dad do it? His healing never leaves scars. At least it was healed I suppose. I looked at his sleeping form, I suppose I should sleep too. First, some food. I grabbed the nearest can and read the label. Vegetable soup, good enough. I threw it into the microwave. I paced around the room waiting for my soup. I noticed something moving in the corner of my eye and whipped around to face it. I realized it was a mirror. I then realized what I was wearing. My armour kind of looked like what the Roman Centurions wore. Can I change this? I tapped my horn to my thigh in thought. Suddenly I felt lighter. I looked down and I was wearing a silver tee-shirt, that seemed to almost shimmer, I had tight black pants on and my feet were clad in combat boots.

"Good enough!" I said aloud right as I heard the microwave go off. I downed my soup quickly and was left contemplating my horns. I laid all three on the table and stared at them. I wanted to see what they could do, so I concentrated on them. Suddenly my first and second horns started to change. My first horn changed into a silver quiver full of arrows and the second became a bow. I tested the string and found it to my liking. I set the arrows and bow by the bed opposite him. I fell asleep instantly still clutching my third horn.

Jay/Arax's POV Remember the AR sound not the AIR sound

I woke up and realized where I was. I looked down and noticed the puckered pink scars stretching from my shoulder to my hip. Luna must've healed me. At least she cared enough to do that. I looked to my left and almost screamed. Lying on the other bunk was a young black horse. No wait, not horse! It had a large slender silvery horn protruding from its forehead. It nickered softly in its sleep. I stared in awe for a long period of time, contemplating what to do. Suddenly, I heard a loud buzzing sound. The unicorn leapt up accidentally spearing the bunk above it. It clumsily stepped off the bed and onto the floor. It stared down at its self seemingly in awe. It closed its eyes and looked like it was focusing. For a second I saw Luna, but then she was gone. She opened her eyes and looked at herself again. She stamped her hoof in frustration. She then looked to the source of the buzzing then stared at me expectantly. I walked over to the phone that was lying on the table and picked it up.

"Hello?" I said, still staring at Luna who seemed to be stuck in her unicorn form.

"Jay its Seth." The voice came from the other end, "Are you guys alright?" He coughed violently.

"Honestly not really, Luna seems to be stuck as a unicorn. We also got attacked by a dragon and Luna knows about my, uh, thing. Other than that we are fine."

"Unicorn form? Whatever, you guys need to hurry! I don't think we can all last much longer. You have two days. Goodbye."

"Wait Seth!" There was no answer he had ended the call. I looked to Luna.

"You hear that Luna. We only have two days." She nodded her head. She looked to the ladder, then looked at her hooves and then to me and whinnied softly.

"We'll get you out don't worry." I hope I'm right. "I have an idea. Wait at the base of the ladder." I hurriedly scrambled up it and grew into a dragon. I attempted to reach into the bag to get her, but the opening was too small. I changed back to human and yelled into the bag. "I can't get to you! Just keep trying!" I zipped the pack and shouldered it. I continued walking.

About an hour later something dawned on me. I would have to walk through the Orchard to get where we were supposed to go. What we simply called the Orchard was a forest of trees with tempting yet poisonous fruit. A simple whiff could send you scrambling for a bite. Normally dragons fly over it and don't even bother, but most dragons aren't like me. The reason Seth and I became friends was because he helped me. He knew I was a dragon and he still helped me. You might be thinking, "Why would a dragon need help?" Let me tell you a story. One fine evening two shadow charmers came across two dragons fighting, a large green dragon and a smaller red dragon. The green dragon had the red dragons right wing in its mouth and probably would have torn it off if the shadow charmers hadn't slain the large green dragon. The red dragon's wing is still broken and the membrane is torn. The end. What a great story, right? I don't think so. I trudged on until I got to the Orchard. I suppose it was stupid of me, but we were still a day's walk from the mountain and then we'd have to walk back, so I plugged my nose with my hand took a deep breath and ran for it. I heard the soothing sound of fruit and ignored it. I needed air, my lungs burned. I took a breath, but I could almost taste the fruit. My hand left my nose and I took a deep breath.
