GUESS WHO'S BACK?!
HELLS YEAH I'M BACK. :D I'm terribly sorry for leaving you for so long. After re-reading this old fic, I decided I loved it and wanted to continue it. Let me know what you guys think, too!:3
The knights and guards all turned to Merlin who had been left standing there after Uther and Arthur ran off. Merlin just stood there, unsure of what to do now. Should he follow Arthur, too? It looked like the guards were just as confused as he was on what to do. It wasn't like he had actually committed a crime, and who was going to listen to a prisoner?
"Why not throw him in a cell, boys?" Ralph suggested, sensing the uncomfortable silence he enjoyed so much. Uncomfortable silence meant trouble, and trouble was good.
Gwaine and Percival looked skeptical and they stopped the other from getting to Merlin by raising their hand to signal no.
"Merlin, go to Arthur. We'll get all the information out of this prisoner that we can. Right now you have a lot of explaining to do." Percival told him and Gwaine agreed, nodding towards the door.
Merlin just stood there for a while, watching his brother dig himself a bigger and bigger hole as he was asked questions. Merlin was so thankful he hadn't been thrown in a cell straight away, but he didn't think he'd get away with this. Gauis nudged Merlin and so Merlin ran out to look for Arthur. He hoped his brother hadn't ruined everything, especially with what he had gained today.
Arthur was packing in his room, resisting the urge to break everything in sight. His head hurt from screaming at his father and now he was biting his nails while trying to think of an explanation for everything that was going on. Uther stood at his door, watching his son stress around and waiting for him to calm down. Uther was mad too, of course; Merlin had lied to all of them. Uther knew something was up with the boy but had decided to put his suspicions aside for the sake of Arthur.
Suddenly, Arthur stopped pacing and he sat down on his un-made bed. He sighed.
"Merlin's brother shall be put to death." He finally said after a moments of silence. There was no exceptions for that as Ralph had not only tried to kill him, but also admitted to using magic.
Uther nodded and walked further into the room. He frowned at a large wet patch on the floor and raised his eyebrows at Arthur.
"Merlin dropped water over me." Arthur explained. Ah, Uther thought, of course. But he hadn't fired Merlin for it, had he? No... He did wonder about Arthur sometimes.
"Speaking of Merlin... what are you doing to do about him? If what that Ralph said is to be true, then we cannot take chances. Merlin could be a sorcerer, Arthur. He could have betrayed Camelot and helped him and everything else we've fought to get in."
Of course Uther didn't really believe what he was saying, and he didn't really expect his son too as well. He saw how Merlin and Arthur got along, there was no way in Hell it was true.
"It isn't true." He snapped, mostly convincing himself instead of his dad. "Merlin saves my life on a daily basis." Arthur said, looking at his father apologetically for snapping. He was about to say that Merlin had also warned him about fighting the knight, but that would lead to more questions. If Merlin had already known about him, had he really helped him? No... It couldn't be. "He'll be working for me as usual. Nothing has changed." He said thoughtfully, looking away from his father and to his hands.
But everything has changed. They all knew that.
"Arthur, just be careful. I'm giving you both the benefit of the doubt here. Don't let me regret it." Uther told him before he turned to the door.
When he opened it, he saw Merlin leaning on the wall opposite, biting his lips as he looked down at his shoes. He looked truly sorry.
"Merlin."
Merlin's head snapped up and he looked at Uther with fearful eyes.
"Arthur is waiting for you. Talk." Uther was doing his best not to tell -or rather, yell- what he really wanted to say, so he settled for a stern glare and a firm nod.
Merlin nodded back and waited for Uther to walk away before he walked into Arthur's room.
As soon as Merlin walked in he started cleaning. Arthur had indeed broken some of his possessions, it seemed. Arthur lay back on his bed with his eyes closed. So much had happened today; he just needed to rest. His chest wound hurt, his head hurt and he still needed to sort other things out such as Gwen, who was still in the dungeons.
Arthur soon drifted off to sleep with all these thoughts still in mind. He hadn't uttered a word to Merlin.
Merlin thought it was time to pay a visit to his dear brother.
Sooooo~ Did I do good? C: I've gotta say, I've missed writing this!:3
