This is a one-shot short story.

The Asurans from this story come from my previous story "Rise of the Asurans", which I have not abandoned, still writing the chapter.

Location- AU Stargate Universe, City-ship Midnight

"What the status of our remaining ships?" A Nanite Asuran Admiral named Edward Terrance asked.

"Sir, Midnight is the only remaining city-ship left, and along with 2 Daedalus class ships and one Destiny class ship which is badly damaged and we are down to only 10 F-402's. The rest have been destroyed by the enemy forces." A bridge officer said.

The admiral did not like this. At first his fleet stood at three city-ships, 3 Daedalus class ships, and 2 Destiny class ships. But then a Nakai fleet made of 60 ships ambushed them while on patrol. While an Asuran patrol fleet was powerful, the ambush cost them a city-ship and a Daedalus ship in the initial barrage. After that the rest of the fleet engaged in combat. The Nakai fleet was reduced to 20 ships, but they were still had the advantage in numbers and that the Asuran fleet was weakening. The Asurans could not run away due to the fact that a distortion nearby causes ships within the vicinity that enter a hyperspace window to disrupt the guiding systems, in essence, they could land anywhere.

"Dammit. Sir, we just lost the Destiny ship." The same bridge officer said.

With no other choice left, the Admiral makes his decision.

"Alert all remaining ships to dock with the Midnight and engage the Wormhole Drive." Admiral Terrance ordered. This shocks the staff in the bridge.

"But sir, the distortion. If we engage the Wormhole Drive in this area, we will not be able to control were we end up, we will be literally flying blind." The previous bridge officer said.

"I don't care. Right now, we either take our chances with that or we continue in here against the bloody Nakai, who are about to destroy us. Do it now." The admiral ordered.

Everyone in the bridge knew what he was saying, either take run away and risk death, or stay and positively die at the hands of the enemy.

"Yes, sir. All ships, dock with the Midnight at once. We will cover you." The bridge officer said.

The next minutes, the two remaining ships dock with the Midnight while fighting against the Nakai. After the docking was completed, the Midnight engages his W.D. and enters the wormhole, leaving behind not only the Nakai, but unknown to the Asurans at the time; they were also leaving behind their own universe.

Author Notes:

I know it is a short story, but it's basically a set up.

The rest of the story will continue in my profile page in a timeline.
