Chapter 17
Connie walked into Sonny's house to see Brenda sitting on the couch. Connie sat her purse down wondering what she was doing there. "Brenda," she said.
She turned toward the sound. "Hi Connie," she said getting up. "How are you?"
"I'm fine. What are you doing here?" Connie asked. Brenda gave a tight smile.
"Sonny hasn't told you anything," Brenda said. "I figured he would've since you're his girlfriend."
Connie arched an eyebrow. "I've been out of town on business. Perhaps you would like to enlighten me. Are you trying to get Sonny back?"
"What? No. Um, see it's complicated. Really complicated. Maybe we should wait for Sonny to come back," Brenda said.
"No Brenda. I rather hear you make things a little less complicated," Connie said. Brenda's eyes flickered to Sonny walking through the door.
"Connie," he called out. She turned around with a confused expression on her face. "Connie, I can explain why Brenda is here. She's helping with a situation. It's about Robin."
"Robin?" Connie asked. "What about Robin?"
"She's alive and she's been living here," Sonny said. "Brenda is here to jog something in Robin. She's been under Jerry's thumb all this time."
"Wait, Robin died in a lab explosion trying to save Jason," she argued.
"That's what we thought but she's alive," Sonny explained. He turned his attention to Brenda. "Where is she?"
"Upstairs," she said. "Did you get in touch with Patrick?"
"We'll be bringing her over to his house tonight. We have to make this a surprise. She won't want to go if we tell her."
"Let me handle that," Brenda said. "I'll just go upstairs and leave you two to talk." She went upstairs and she could feel Connie's eyes on her.
"Were you going to tell me about this?" Connie questioned.
"Of course but the situation is very delicate. Only a few of us know," Sonny replied.
"What's this thing you got going on with Brenda?" Connie asked.
"We are taking her to Patrick's house for an intervention. She needs to remember her family," Sonny said.
"I'm going with you," Connie replied. Sonny shook his head no.
"We want it to be with the people who really know her. Please understand. My focus is on Robin getting better." Connie huffed in annoyance.
"Fine. I do hope Robin gets the help she needs," she said.
He smiled at her. "Thanks for understanding."
Brenda walked into Robin's room. "Hey Robin. Do you have a second?"
"Sure," she responded. "I can't go anywhere until Sonny does what I ask."
Brenda sat on the bed. "How about you and I go out? Sonny can drive us. We can go to a nice restaurant and hang out. You've been cooped up in this house for too long."
Robin narrowed her eyes. "Where?"
"It's going to be a surprise," Brenda said. "What do you say? Want to have a girl's night out?"
"Fine," Robin answered.
Brenda smiled. "We'll have a good time. I promise." She left Robin's room and went downstairs.
Sonny looked up from his desk. "What did she say?"
"Yes. She thinks we're going to dinner. Where's Connie?"
"She left. I hope things weren't too awkward," Sonny said.
"Nothing I can't handle. She actually thought I was trying to get you back. Crazy, right?" Brenda said. "Clearly you're in love with her. I wouldn't want to stand in the way."
He chuckled. "Connie knows what the deal is. She knows we're trying to help Robin."
Brenda nodded. "Robin seems pretty determined to leave after you do her a favor."
"After tonight, hopefully she will put that out of her mind once she remembers."
Later that evening...
Patrick scanned the room once more hoping this was the right thing to do. He felt Liz's hand on his shoulder. "Things are going to work out," she reassured. He gave her a grateful smile.
Liz sat next to AJ and held his hand. She squeezed it tight for support. She looked at Carly, Jax, Nikolas, Robin's family and sighed. Everybody was on pins and needles and she couldn't blame anybody. She didn't know how Robin was going to react to any of this.
Meanwhile, Robin looked out the window. "Where are we going Sonny?"
"You'll see in a minute," he answered turning down the street towards Patrick's house. Robin got the feeling she was being lied to.
"Is this a shortcut to the restaurant?" she pressed.
She felt Brenda's hand on her arm. "Sonny wouldn't steer you wrong."
They pulled up to the house and got out of the car. Robin slowly walked behind Sonny with Brenda next to her. "This isn't a restaurant."
Sonny knocked on the door and Patrick answered. His eyes landed on Robin who remained stoic. "Glad you all could come," he said.
Sonny smiled and turned to Robin. "Come on."
She walked in and stopped in her tracks at all the people there. "What is this?" she asked turning to Sonny and Brenda.
Brenda held her face in her hands. "We want to help you."
Robin moved away from her. "You tricked me. Did Sonny put you up to this?"
"Robin," Patrick called out. "Please, just hear us out. Everyone in this room knows you and wants you back. Don't be mad. Just stay for a while. Then we can go from there."
Robin rolled her eyes. She debated whether to make a run for it but decided to stay. She figured they would keep hounding her the longer she prolonged this. "Start talking," she clipped. She sat in the chair.
"I'll go first," Anna said.
