Chapter 18

Anna let out a breath. "I remember when I held you in my arms as baby. You were my world and I loved you more than my own life. You grew up to be a wonderful person. In despite of possible odds, you became a doctor, a wife and mother."

"I'll go next," said AJ. "I owe you a lot. You let me know who my son was. You were one of the very few people who believed in me."

"You are a really good person Robin," Liz said. "We became really good friends especially after I lost Emily. We've helped each other through so much. Our kids are best friends."

"I met you because of Stone," Sonny said. "Brenda and I and the two of you were tight. You were so strong but that's when you had to grow up quickly. We found out Stone had aids because he exchanged needles with somebody who had it. Then we found out you were HIV positive. I learned from you. You possessed so much strength. You comforted me when I couldn't cope. You never ceased to inspire me."

Robin could feel her heart starting to ache. She didn't want to feel anything but anger at the moment. "I've heard enough."

"No, wait. I have something to say," Maxie said. "You've always been there for me no matter what horrible thing I did. I knew that you would always have my back. You were like a sister to me. That night in the lab was one of the worst days of my life. I thought I was responsible for you dying. I hated myself for it but now you're here. I would really like my cousin back. I would like my sister back Robin."

Patrick sat on the table in front of Robin. He rubbed his hands on his lap. "Robin, we all have stories to tell about how much you've impacted our lives. Especially mine. I didn't plan on getting married let alone having a family. You changed my world. You got underneath my skin. You were this feisty, stubborn, infuriating woman who bulldozed her way into my heart. You didn't take my crap and called me out on it whenever you got a chance. Then we created this amazing little girl and she takes after you so much. I want more than anything to have the woman I love remember me. Remember all the people in this room. We love you and we are lost without you. I'm lost without you. Robin, please let me in. Let me in your heart. We can survive whatever has happened. I need you to fight with me. I need you to fight for us."

He saw Robin's eyes fill with more tears. He was silently hoping he was getting through. He cautiously grabbed her hand. She looked down before flickering her eyes onto him.

"May I see a picture of her...of Emma?" Robin asked. He grabbed the picture off the end table and handed it to her. They all watched for her reaction hoping seeing Emma would break her wall.

Robin stared at the picture. This was her daughter. A girl that had been successfully blocked from her memory. It was another thing Jerry took from her. Her love. She slowly eyed Patrick and then scanned the rest of the room. More tears came and she wiped her face.

"Robin?" Patrick called out. "Do you remember?"

She handed the picture back to him and quickly rose out of the chair and walked out the front door. Patrick headed for the front door but Brenda stopped him. She went out followed by Sonny.

Robin was at the end of the driveway when Brenda called out for her. She didn't stop. She walked faster trying to clear her head.

"Robin!" Brenda yelled catching up to her. She grabbed her elbow to turn her around but she jerked backwards. "Robin, talk to us."

"I am idiot. I let a psychotic bastard make me forget my husband and child. All of you. He made me...he made me into a killer. I believed him. I really thought he was my only friend. I thought I could trust him," she said shakily.

"Wait...do you remember us?" Brenda asked.

She gave a weak smile. "How could I forget my best friend?"

Brenda hugged her tight and started crying. She pulled back and took Robin's face in her hands. "Good to have you back little sister." Brenda faced Sonny who had a joyous yet anxious look on his face.

Robin smiled. "I know how we left things but I missed you. You've been there for me and I can't see how I could have gotten through things without you." She hugged him and she felt the tears coming down his face.

"I'm sorry Robin," he whispered.

"I'm sorry too," she whispered back. She let go and kissed his cheek. "Do you think they'll be mad at me for running out?"

Brenda came up from behind and crossed her arms around Robin's chest. "No, they won't. Look at us...friends again." Robin and Sonny laughed. Then Robin got quiet.

"About Jerry, I know I asked you to find him for me," she started.

"I won't do it-

"No. Don't stop looking. I still want him to pay for what's he's done to all of us. He owes me," she said her voice hardening for a moment. He nodded.

"Okay. For now, let's go back," he responded. They walked back and entered the front door. Patrick waited for anything. Anna and Duke stood beside him.

"Hi," she said looking up at Patrick. He inhaled sharply and reached out for her. She walked into his embrace and he held her tight.

"I've missed you so much," Patrick said.
