Chapter 21

Robin leaned against Emma's door smiling. Her baby was sleeping soundly and peacefully. She felt tears forming at the fact of having missed so much in her life already. She was going to have to learn Emma all over again.

She felt Patrick's hands on her shoulders and looked up. His face shrouded in concern but she quickly eased his fears. She closed Emma's door and they went back to their bedroom.

"What's wrong?" Patrick asked.

"Nothing really. Seeing Emma again just makes me realize how much I've missed out," she said. "I have to learn her all over again."

"She missed you Robin," he said. "She never forgot about you."

Robin smiled. "I'm glad. I wish I could say the same."

"Hey," he started to say. "You didn't have control then and I know if you had remembered us, you would have fought hard to get back to us."

"I would have," she said. "There's something I need to tell you. I received a text from Jerry the other night."

"What?" he asked his voice lowering an octave. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"You were heading for work and I didn't want to ruin the moment with Emma," Robin explained.

"Did you tell anyone? Anna?"

"Sonny," she said seeing his expression morph into annoyance. "Patrick, I get it. He's not your favorite person but he is one of the few that can help me. He and I are basically in the same business now."

"No," he countered. "You are a doctor. He's a criminal."

"Patrick," she said softly. "I was a trained killer. Look at what I did to Luke. To Franco. I might be paying for that crime no thanks to Jerry."

"I won't let that happen," he said. "We have to go through the proper channels Robin."

"I know that but it's difficult. There's still a part of me that hasn't let that life go. I can only mask it for so long," she said honestly. "I can't erase those memories as soon as the old ones returns."

"I'm not expecting you too. We can't act on those impulses," he said.

"You mean I can't act on them," she chuckled. "I promise to try."

Meanwhile, Anna was pacing around her office. "What do you mean he isn't there?!" she yelled into the phone. She called earlier that morning on Robert's condition only to find he was gone.

"He was checked out," the nurse informed her. She bit back a growl.

"Who authorized it?"

"Dr. Obrecht," the nurse answered. Anna was clutching the phone so tight her knuckles began to turn white.

"Thank you," she said calmly and hung up. She quickly dialed Holly's number.

"Hello," she heard.

"Holly. You had one job while I was gone. You were supposed to keep watch over him. How in the world did you screw that up?"

"I resent your tone and what are you going on about?" Holly questioned. "I just saw him yesterday."

"Well you missed him this morning. He was checked out this morning," she informed. She didn't hear anything for a while.

"I didn't authorize that and clearly you didn't," Holly said.

"His doctor did apparently. If you can, find out something. If you are there in person, you might get more information." She hung up and rubbed her forehead. Now she was going to have to make a visit to Britt.

She debated to call Robin but she gave her word about giving an update.

"Mom," Robin greeted after the second ring.

"Hey sweetheart," she said. "I have some news about your dad."

"Is he okay?" she asked.

"Um, I guess. Robin, he was checked out of the facility by Dr. Obrecht."

"What?!" she cried out. "When did this happen?" she asked rushing to put on some shoes.

"Earlier today," she answered. "I'll find him and everything is going to be okay."

"Mom, I can help you. We know who else is involved here."

"Robin, let me handle it," she stated hoping her daughter wouldn't do something foolish. She said something else but then realized Robin had already disconnected.

"Robin," Patrick called out as she was putting on her jacket.

"Stay with Emma," she instructed. "I have to see my mom right now. Dad…someone took him. Most likely Jerry. I have to find him." She walked out the room and he grabbed her by the arm.

"You aren't going anywhere by yourself. I'll call Liz and have her come over." She waited impatiently as Liz came over.

"Hey guys. This call sounded urgent," Liz stated as she walked into the house.

"It is and thank you for coming over. We have to go. Tell Emma we love her and we will be back soon," Robin said. She dragged Patrick out the door.

"I'll drive," he said taking the keys from his wife. He had an idea of where to go.

"Patrick, this isn't the police station," Robin told him.

"It isn't. I know where Obrecht's daughter is."

"How?" she wondered.

"I was involved with her but I didn't know who she was. She got pregnant and tried to pass off the baby as mine. Then it was stillborn," he explained quickly.

She blinked. "Whoa. I'm sorry about the baby. I'm sorry she put you through that."

"There's one more thing…Sabrina lives here too. In the same apartment."

Robin arched an eyebrow. "I get to meet both your exes in the same day," she said. He rolled his eyes.

"Doesn't matter anyway because I got you back. Now, let's see if she knows anything," Robin said getting out of the car.

Patrick knocked on the door and Sabrina answered. "Patrick," she said surprised. Her eyes landed on Robin who gave a sympathetic smile.

"Hi," Robin said.

"Hi," Sabrina responded feeling a little awkward. "Welcome back."

"Thank you. It's good to be back," she said.

"So why are you here?" Sabrina asked.

"We wanted to speak with Britt. It's very important," Patrick replied.

"She should be back in a few minutes," Sabrina said. "Please come in."

She closed the door taking a deep breath. She looked at the couple and it still pained her but he seemed happier.

"Can I get you anything?" Sabrina asked.

"No thanks," Patrick said while Robin shook her head no.

"Sabrina…Patrick told me how much you cared for him and Emma during my absence. I know how you feel about Patrick and I just want to say thank you for loving him when I couldn't. Thank you for being there for Emma when I wasn't able to be. I don't expect you to have an answer right now but I would like to offer an invitation to you. Emma will want to see you and I am sure you miss her. If you want to and only when you're ready, please stop by and see her."

"I would like that very much," Sabrina said grateful for the offer. She looked at Patrick who nodded his head.

All three turned their attention to the door when Britt walked in. She quickly scanned the room confused. "What is going on?"

Patrick could feel Robin tense immediately and her posture changed. He put his hand on her lower back.

"Britt, this is Robin," Patrick said. "We need to know if you have had contact with your mother recently."

Britt groaned. "What now?"

"She has my father and I need to know where she would go," Robin said. She saw how both Britt and Sabrina's eyes nearly shot out of their sockets.

"You don't know anything, do you?" she observed.

"I haven't talked to her in a while," Britt admitted. "I swear I know nothing."

"Is there anyone outside of Jerry Jacks who she would confide in? Someone who she trusts," Robin pressed.

"One person…Faison."

Robin's blood ran cold. "Faison…

She nodded her head. "My mother is obsessed with him. He's…he's my father."

Silence took over and all Robin could do was just stare. She clenched her fists. "You have got to be kidding me," she muttered.

"I wish I were," Britt said. "I hate who my father is. I got stuck with two psychopaths for parents."

Robin inhaled sharply. "We have to figure out something. I'm sure my mother will be barreling her way into this apartment. Out of courtesy, I'm warning you not to tell mom who Faison is to you. I'll tell her in my own time."

"Okay," she said knowing from how Anna went off last time. There was a loud bang on the door.

"Britt Westbourne, it's Commissioner Devane. Open up!" she yelled. Britt opened the door and Anna walked through.

"Robin, Patrick…

"We're here for the same reason," Robin said calmly. "Britt was telling us about why Obrecht might have taken dad."

Anna crossed her arms. "Explain."

"Faison," she said.

Her face fell. "If you are lying-

"I don't know but that's the only explanation I have."

Cassadine Island…

Jerry was sitting in the room with Robert still in the coma. "Sorry Robert but this was part of a much bigger plan to lure Robin and Anna. Faison wants Anna…be some sort of hero. Me, I just want Robin to know what it is like for those who double cross me."

Obrecht walked into the room. "How is the patient?"

"Still out like a light," he said smiling.

She pulled out the syringe. "This should wake him up soon. We can't have him missing all the fun."
