Chapter 17: The Imperiaz are back!
A/N: So before I start, let me say that I didn't upload chapters for forever:
Events: Got lazy, computer's cable got broken, couldn't update, lost my files, computer fixed next day, didn't know what to write, wrote up something anyways, forgot to save and files got lost, rewrote chapter, uploaded to fanfic:
Found out for some reason, didn't upload this chapter, so I'm just barely uploading it today.
But I think: It's amazing how this story is set up! Way to go, time to set the show! *fun fact: my computer is 7 years old*
The castle of the Imperiaz was in the distance. The glass castle walls shone and reflected the Sun's light.
The Imperiaz family were heading towards the castle. Everyone was in a good mood.
Princess Diara looked at King Berkby. She squealed. "We're finally going to live our lives again, daddy! How exciting!" There was a cheerfulness in her voice.
Berkby smiled and nodded. "I agree." He said.
Teeny looked at Nan. "And Lokar's no longer here to bother us. I'm glad we're together again." She said.
Koz ran up to the castle, followed by his family. They stood in the entrance.
Koz opened the door. The light entered the dusty castle, and the king and queen's thrones were up ahead.
The rest of the Imperiaz came in, and Teeny, Koz, and Diara took off their warrior belts and threw them away.
"Guys, should we keep our X-Readers?" Teeny asked. Diara shrugged. "Well, I don't care. I don't need them anyway." She put her X-Reader away in a shelf. "Besides," she said, plopping down on a couch, " we're going to live our peaceful and posh life again! So that mean's we're no longer kairu warriors." She grabbed a magazine and read.
Koz and Teeny looked at each other. "I think she may be right." Koz whispered. Teeny nodded. They both went to their rooms.
The Imperiaz were eating dinner, Berkby asking Diara many questions about Kairu Warriors.
"So, Diara, what was your monster again?" Berby asked.
Diara smiled. "Oh, it's Knight Asp. I have a second one called Hurracane."
Berkby raised an eyebrow. "What about Koz and Teeny?" Koz and Teeny looked at Berkby.
"Mines are Ocelot and Grindoid." Koz stated.
"And mines are Warnet and Beedril." Teeny said.
"It's amazing how you have grown: not only do you possess powers that you can use to defend our home, you also have come up with brilliant plans. You're almost set to rule by yourselves!" King Berkby said, praising his children.
Koz, Teeny, and Diara couldn't help but smile. "Thank you, dad." Diara said. Her voice didn't sound at all like her normal whiny voice, which puzzled everyone in the castle. Her voice sounded more mature and grateful this time!
Diara looked at her siblings and parents staring at her. "What? It's just me!" Diara said, her voice reverting back to normal.
Berkby and Nan exchanged glances. "My sister can sure be odd at times." Teeny said.
Everyone laughed, Diara looking confused.
The laughing was interrrupted by a series of rumblings: the table shook, along with all the fine china dishes and silverware.
"What's going on?" Nan asked, her voice shaking. Everyone stood up from their seats.
The rumbling continued, with everything in the dining hall shaking, until one of the vases remained still: and everything else stopped moving. It remained silent.
Koz broke the silence by moving his plate to the edge of the table. "I'll go see what's happening." He pushed his chair and walked away. A hand was placed on his shoulder, stopping him.
"Wait, I'll go too!" A voice said, sounding shaky and scared. Koz turned around to see it was Diara.
"And don't forget about me." Teeny walked up to Koz.
Koz raised a brow, but then sighed. "You guys can come." He said, reluctant to let his sisters come.
"You guys be careful!" Berkby said. Koz looked at him and nodded. "We will."
Team Imperiaz had finally found something. In front of them was a relic, shining with pure kairu. The relic was a book. They were located in a room with a high ceiling, which they knew as the library. Koz picked up the relic.
"So, the kairu must have shaken the castle. To fix that, we just have to drain it." Koz stated.
Teeny looked at Koz, and then at Diara. "But we don't have our X-Readers, remember?"
Koz nodded. "Right, Teeny. We have to go get them." He put the relic down.
They were interrrupted by a strange voice saying: "It's best if they don't get their X-Readers, Zane."
"Huh?" Koz said. They looked around.
Behind the Imperiaz were Zane and Silv, smirking at them. They saw that both had black auras, Zane's darker than Silv's.
Diara frowned. "What do you want?" Teeny stepped forward. "And who is she?" Teeny pointed at Silv.
Silv stepped forward. "I'm Silv. And who are you?"
Koz frowned. "We're Team Imperiaz, and we want you two to go AWAY! The kairu is ours." He said.
Zane laughed. "How will you get the kairu and fight without your X-Readers? That proves how worthless you are."
Silv nodded. "Lokar should have kicked you out earlier."
Koz couldn't take this. He ran up to Zane and kicked him in the face, making Zane kneel over and buckle his knees, grabbing his head.
Zane let out a painful yell. "ZANE!" Silv shouted. She looked at Zane and helped him stand up.
Zane looked at the Imperiaz, and then at Koz. "So you think you're tough." He said.
Koz looked at Zane, a puzzled look in his face. "I-"
He felt a pain his stomach. He looked down. Zane punched his stomach, his hand still resting in there.
"TAKE A TASTE OF THIS!" Zane jumped up. "RADIKOR RAGE!" He fired the attack at Koz.
Silv also jumped up. "Lightning Thrash!" She aimed her attack at Radikor Rage.
"RADIKOR THRASH!"
Both lightning and Radikor Rage rained on him and his siblings, hitting them hard. Then the ground glowed red and exploded.
The Imperiaz landed in a heap, Koz badly hurt. Standing up, he winced in pain and glanced at Zane and Silv.
"That was some CRAZY damage!" Silv said, high-fiving Zane. Zane looked at Koz. "Not so tough now, right?"
As Zane laughed, Koz glared at him. "What's the whole point of this? JUST TAKE THE KAIRU AND LEAVE US ALONE!" Koz shouted.
Silv looked at Koz. "So now you're surrendering?" She looked at Zane.
"They might as well die. Worthless warriors." Silv said.
Team Imperiaz gasped. Silv laughed. "That got the reaction I wanted. Maybe we're gonna be nice and just spare you..."
"Or maybe we're gonna fight you to the death for the kairu! We do EVIL around here." Zane said. He raised his hands, ready to cast an attack.
He gathered his aura's energy as black lightning hit the Imperiaz. They shouted in pain, as the lightning hit them again and again.
Was this the end of the Imperiaz... for good?
"So now you're thrash talking a former team AND ATTACKING civilians. You've reached a new low, Zane!" A voice said. Three shadows appeared in the room where the Imperiaz and the Radikor were.
"And it's not surprising that Silv has your exact same behavior." Another voice said.
The shadows stepped forward, revealing Maya, Boomer, and Ky. Maya and Boomer had their X-Readers strapped to their wrists, just like Ky.
"We challenge you to a Kairu Challenge. If we win, you leave with no kairu and never come back to the Imperiaz's castle. If you win, you can take the kairu, but never come back as well." Ky said.
Zane looked at Ky. "Fine, it's not like we have any business with them. Challenge Accepted!"
Both teams bowed and put their fists together. Wind swirled around them.
"How are we gonna beat these guys again?" Boomer asked.
Ky looked at Boomer. "Remember, we use our surroundings, speed attacks, and distraction. Skip stacking up for now." Boomer nodded at Ky.
Zane got out his X-Reader. "BRUTERON!"
Silv got out her X-Reader from her belt. "DEVOLF!"
They both transformed into their monsters and landed.
Ky smirked. "Over here, Zane!" He yelled, grabbing Bruteron's attention. Bruteron followed him as Ky bounced off of one of the walls of the room and shouted. "Jet Jump!" He got higher until he reached the very top of the ceiling. Bruteron stopped and looked up.
"Why are you up there?! Get down!"
Ky laughed. "Never, unless you knock me down." Ky stopped using the attack, and hovered in the air for a brief second.
"Or maybe not." Ky said, before he lost altitude and started to fall down, as Bruteron looked at him falling.
Boomer ran towards Bruteron and shouted: "Ice Whip!" He hit Bruteron, who wasn't looking. Bruteron yelled and turned around.
As Ky was falling, he looked down at the ground near him. "If this doesn't work, I'm gonna end up like pancakes."
Maya knew what she was supposed to do, and ran up to Ky. "Harrier!"
Harrier flew up and catched Ky. She hovered, her wings flapping. "Thanks!" Ky said. Harrier grinned. "No problem."
Devolf was running up to Harrier. She leaped up, and showed her fangs. "RAZOR FANGS!" The green attack hit the unaware Harrier, making her crash land.
Boomer looked at Ky and Harrier on the ground. "KY! MAYA!" He shouted. He started to run after them, but Bruteron blocked him.
Boomer had no idea how he was going to pass Bruteron and get to his friends until he came up with a plan. "It might work if I hit him in the eye... but it's a small chance."
Boomer jumped up. "RIGHTEOUS LIGHT!" The attack was dodged, but Boomer was still able to get to his friends. "Guys! Are you ok?" He asked.
Harrier moaned. "S-Somewhat.. but Ky is not responding." She said, holding a Ky who was knocked out cold. "Take care of Ky, and I'll fight Zane and Silv." She handed Ky to Boomer, and flew up towards Bruteron and Devolf.
Harrier whistled at them. "Hey guys, if you want to win, then let me beat myself."
"That's CRAZY!" Devolf said. "Why would you want to beat yourself?"
"Because I'd do that to you in a WINDBLAST!" The attack hit Devolf, making her crash into a wall.
Bruteron looked at Harrier. "Power Surge!" Harrier dodged the attack. "Feather Swords!" The swords hit the ropes holding a bookcase in the front of the room, making them cut the ropes and loosen the bookcase as it fell towards Bruteron.
Bruteron ran for cover, shouting for Silv to help him. Devolf listened to him and leaped forward, trying to push Bruteron away, buut it was too late. The bookcase smashed both of them, burying them beneath it. They detransformed, and Team Stax had won.
The bookcase glowed black as Silv used her aura to free herself and Zane by lifting the bookcase up. As soon as they got up, Zane looked at her. "Thank you very much for making us lose the battle." He said.
Silv looked at him, puzzled. "But Zane, I- I tried my best! Believe me." She said.
They left the room as shouting could be heard from Zane reprimanding Silv.
Ky woke up. He coughed a bit, then stood up from the floor. He looked up at Boomer. "Guys! Ky woke up!" Boomer shouted.
Everyone came over to Ky, and Maya helped him stand up.
"So, our plan didn't work. But at least we've got you three to help us, right?" Maya said.
Koz nodded. "We've decided we'll help you. If you need us, just tell us." Koz had been handed an X-Com. He put it on.
"And remember, always have your X-Readers in hand." Ky said. Team Imperiaz nodded. The two teams got up from their seats in the library and said goodbye.
A/N: The gem in this story was not so much the battle as it was the storyline. I intended to explain two things:
Diara changed her voice because I thought it was appropriate for her personality. Even though she's a character that, like her siblings, is often yanked at their chains by the writers (no offense!) and made fun of, she has to have a flip side because if her demands are met and if she receives praise, she won't be whiny. So one side of her is whiny and demanding and spoiled, the other is mature and elegant (something which should be seen in all princesses).
The other is that I wanted to point out that Team Imperiaz are going to- that's right folks, FLIP to the good side... for the meantime. And then they'll return to lives of luxury. Or at least, that's what they need.
Also, side note: I really need some advice on battle scenes. The bookcase thing was something I came up with at, like, last minute. I'd really like to improve my battle scenes overall, since I know there are author's in this fandom who are better battle writers than me... *cough cough killavals cough* *cough JAMES S-310 cough* so please, if you have any suggestions on how to improve, tell me!
