Chapter 22
Robert slowly opened his eyes. His head was pounding. He tried to sit up but felt a pair of arms push him back down.
"Anna?" he called out still groggy.
He heard a laugh that definitely was not Anna's. He squinted his eyes as the figure stood over him.
"No Scorpio, your precious Anna Devane is not here," Obrecht said. Robert's eyes snapped opened.
"You," he hissed. "What have you done to Anna? Where's Robin?"
"They will be on their way soon," she informed. "Some preparations for their arrival had to be made."
"If you hurt them, I will kill you," he threatened. She only laughed at the threat.
"Please. Your empty threats mean nothing. I hold the power Scorpio. The sooner you realize you are not in control, the better off you will be. There are some people who would like to see you."
Her heels clicked as she moved toward the door. She let Jerry and Faison in.
"I see you have woken up from your long slumber," Jerry said as he sat on the edge of the bed. "Welcome back to the land of the living. I have no doubt Robin would be thrilled to see her father again. Wouldn't you agree Faison?"
Robert's mind went reeling. How in the world did he and Jerry become allies? His anger threatened to overtake him. "I'm definitely going to kill you when this is over," he said addressing Faison.
"No Robert. You misunderstand. I'm helping you. I'm reuniting the Scorpios and give them one last memory," he started, "before I claim what is rightfully mine."
Robert found the strength to sit up. "Rightfully yours? Anna will never love you. And Robin hates you." He glanced over at Obrecht who seemed to be agitated at the mention of Anna and he bit back a smile. He could use that to his advantage.
"Anna just needs to forget about you and Duke. She will realize that I am the only one who would do right by her. Every other man in her life has abandoned her," Faison argued.
Jerry rolled his eyes. "While this is perfectly entertaining, I'm afraid there are more pressing matters. Namely, my talk with dear old dad. I bid both of you adieu."
He waited until they left before pulling out his phone. "I'm sure you can't stand being in the same room with lunatic 1 and 2."
"Because you are such a joy yourself," he muttered.
"I have my moments. Certainly Robin thinks so," he taunted.
"What did you do to her?" he asked. Jerry laughed as he thought about what transpired between them.
"Quite much. She is a force to be reckoned with," he responded. He pulled up a picture of them in Italy and showed it to Robert. "Your daughter was quite the student. I taught her the art of killing. She's quite good."
"You're lying," he sneered.
"If only. She shot Luke. Nearly killed Franco and Sonny. Robin could have been a great spy. Too bad she will be going to jail after this."
Robert knew he was telling the truth. What he couldn't figure out was how Robin became his right hand man. It didn't make sense for his baby girl to willingly help Jerry.
Jerry noticed the confusion. "You'll have your answers soon." He scrolled through his contacts and dialed. "Here," he said handing him the phone.
He heard Robin's voice after the second ring. "Hello," she said.
"Robin," he said grateful to hear her voice.
Robin looked at her mother with wide eyes. "Dad?"
Anna held out her hand. Robin quickly handed her the phone. "Robert?"
"I'm fine luv," he said. "Nothing can keep this Scorpio down."
Anna blinked back tears. "Robert, where are you?"
"On vacation. It looks like a mansion out here," he said.
Anna could hear rumbling in the background. "Robert?"
"Robert is busy at the moment," Jerry said. He heard Anna call him a bastard and threaten to dispose of him.
"My, my…you Scorpios love to make threats. Let's play a game. It's called finding Robert. We're on a secluded island. You have one day to find him. If you don't, I'll ship his body back to you. You'll really mourn the loss of a dear Scorpio. Give Robin my regards."
Anna clenched her fists and turned to Britt. "Clearly, your mother and Faison are working with Jerry. Do you really have no idea where they would go?"
"I swear I don't," she reiterated.
"Mom, what did Jerry say?" Robin asked.
"He's on a secluded island and I have 24 hours to find Robert," she said. She saw the anger and horror written all over Robin's face.
She approached her. "I'm going to find him."
"I'm coming with you," Robin said matter-of-factly.
"You can't. Faison-
Robin shook her head. "I'm coming with you. Scorpios stick together."
"I'll check with Duke and I'll make arrangements," she said. She handed Robin her phone and left.
The second she left, all of them saw Robin's posture change. It was menacing to say the least. "Britt, out of Faison and Obrecht, which one do you want to live?"
"What?" Britt questioned.
Robin walked up to her. "I promise you one of them is going to end up dead. I don't know how nor by whom. So which parent would you rather keep around?"
It took everything in Britt not to flinch. "Robin, it won't come to that."
"It will whether you like it or not. By the way, you're coming along. Pack your bags," she said and slammed the door behind her as she went out of the apartment.
Patrick saw her slam her hand against the car door as he approached her. "Robin-
"Why can't I ever be free of him?" she questioned. "He's doing this for payback."
"We'll get Robert back and Faison won't have to die. Neither will Obrecht or Jerry," he said putting his hands on her shoulders.
"They pushed too far this time," she said softly opening the passenger side of the vehicle. Patrick got behind the wheel and drove home.
He glanced at Robin periodically but she was too lost in thought to notice. Her sudden change scared him yet angered him. That reaction was a product of Jerry.
Robin wracked her brain trying to figure out what secluded island her father could be on. It couldn't be Sonny's island because that was too risky. The only other person who had a private island was Nikolas. She gasped at the realization.
"What?" Patrick asked concerned.
"Cassadine Island," she said. "It's the only place that makes sense. We have to go to the docks now."
Within the hour they were standing in front of Nikolas explaining what transpired. He looked at them bewildered.
"Whatever you need, I'll be happy to accommodate you," he said.
