Chapter 27
Patrick was beside himself as he started to rip every room he entered into pieces. How he managed to lose Robin was beyond him and his frustration was growing by the minute.
"Where are you?" he muttered. He heard footsteps in the hallway and turned to locate the sound exactly. Disappointment only increased at the sight of Nikolas and Jax.
"I take it you haven't located Robin either," Jax said.
Patrick rolled his eyes. "Do you see her here Jax? We need to find her before she comes in contact with Jerry."
"I know," Jax replied. "I know what my brother is capable of."
"Guys, we aren't going to get anywhere if you two continue this little conversation," Nikolas interrupted. "We still have another floor to check."
"And we still need to get in contact with Anna and Britt," Nikolas continued. He started walking down the hall.
"I hate this place," Patrick muttered.
The three of them walked side by side saying nothing until they heard voices coming from a room and they were growing louder. Patrick was the first one to reach it.
"Robin," he yelled as he barged in. All that greeted him was Britt and her mother.
Liesl turned around. "Dr. Drake. So lovely to see you."
He said nothing as he glared at her.
"Not in a talking mood I see," Liesl said. "That's quite alright. I'm sure you are too busy looking for that insipid wife of yours."
"Mother, what have you done?" Britt asked.
"I've done nothing," Liesl replied.
"Bull. Tell me what you have done with Robin!" Patrick yelled.
"Wherever she is, is her business," Liesl replied. "I could care less about her. My concern is for my daughter."
"Who doesn't need nor want it," Britt shot back. "After everything that has happened what makes you think I want anything to do with you."
Liesl was about to say something when they heard rumblings downstairs.
"I'll go check it out," Nikolas offered. "No one do anything stupid."
When Nikolas went downstairs he saw Anna, Faison and Robert in the living room. The atmosphere was thick with tension. "Anna," Nikolas called out wearily.
"It's alright," Anna said keeping her face stoic. "Everything is under control."
"Anna, don't give him a false sense of security," Faison said.
"How's Robert?" Nikolas asked.
"I'm fine," he answered. He finally came to his senses when they were out by the stables.
"Whatever your plan is, it won't work," Nikolas said addressing Faison. "I'll make sure of it."
Faison chuckled. "With that army of dimwits you brought over."
"There's only one of you," Nikolas shot back.
In the meantime, Patrick along with Jax, Liesl and Britt came downstairs after waiting upstairs.
"You are no match for me. None of you," Faison said.
"But I am," a hard voice said cutting through the air.
"Robin," Anna said thankful to know her daughter hadn't been hurt.
"Anna," she replied looking at her briefly. Anna blinked at Robin's change in demeanor.
"Robin, you're safe now," Patrick said cautiously noticing the same thing. He quickly looked at Anna's bewildered expression before turning his attention back to his wife.
A wicked smirk graced her features. "Not until I do this," Robin said and lifted her gun towards Faison.
"Robin, stop!" Patrick yelled.
"What exactly do you think you're doing?" Faison asked unfazed.
"For starters, putting you out of your misery," she said. "One bullet for you and perhaps your accomplice over there," she added pointing the gun in Liesl's direction.
As she settled her gaze on Liesl, Robin finally noticed Britt by her. "Remember when I asked which one…now is your time to choose. Or if you really want them both gone, I'll do it. I don't really care."
Everyone in that room wondered what happened to her in such a short time. As one Jerry's name popped up in their heads.
Patrick took a step forward in Robin's direction. "Look at me," he said. However, Robin didn't do it. Her focus was on Faison.
"Move," she said.
"No," he responded. "This isn't you. You aren't a cold-blooded killer."
Robin let out a bitter laugh. "But you see, I am." Her eyes traveled to Anna and she noticed Robert.
"You found him. Hello Robert," she said her voice held no emotion in it.
"What did that bastard do to you?" Robert questioned.
Jerry came from around the corner. "I opened her eyes to who you all really were."
Patrick rushed forward to tackle Jerry but Robin blocked him cocking the gun and aiming it over his heart. "One move," she warned.
"Jerry, you're going to pay for this," Jax said.
"Little brother, nice to see you are in my corner," he said sarcastically.
Patrick was trying to think of anything to get his wife back. "You can't kill Faison. Think of Emma."
"Emma barely knows who I am," she responded. "She'll survive without me."
"No she won't. That's Jerry talking," Patrick said.
"Shut up," Robin sneered. "And get out of my way." When he didn't move quick enough, she pushed him back.
"I'll deal with you once I've dealt with Faison," Robin stated. She aimed her gun once more. "Britt, choose."
Britt could feel her mother's eyes on her. "Britta…"
"Quiet mother," Britt said. She looked at Robin. "Faison."
It happened in slow motion when Robert managed to get Anna's gun and hit Faison over the head with it. Robin barely had enough time to stop herself from pulling the trigger.
Robert heard the gasps coming from Liesl but all he could do was look at Robin who eyes were full of fury. Fury because she didn't get a chance to seal the deal.
"Why did you do that?" Robin asked.
"To keep you from making a mistake," Robert said.
"This isn't the first time I've shot someone. Ask Luke," she responded. "Now someone else gets to pay for your stunt." In a flash she hit Liesl in the shoulder. Britt caught her mother in her arms.
"Sorry Britt but since she was there by default," Robin started to say. "She'll live though. You still get to have your precious mommy."
"Now, all of you sit down," she commanded.
