Chapter 24: The Dead Ghosts

"We just turned the whole world against you, Team does it feel to be opressed by people stronger than you?" Lokar asked, his voice echoing.

"That's not true! WE'RE STRONGER!" Ekayon shouted. Zane shot a beam of dark energy at him. Ekayon fell flat on the ground. Zane smirked.

"Anyone who opposes this statement is a liar... cause it's the truth." He and his team laughed at Team Stax. Ekayon braced his arm. He looked at it, to find it was scratched.

The disturbing sound of their laughter made Maya close her ears. "Please...stop..."She said. But the laughter didn't do that. Maya closed her eyes.

Boomer looked at her. As if he knew what to do, he raised his hands.

"Borealis Blast!" Boomer shouted, releasing the attack. It circled around them. The illusion disappeared along with Lokar and his team. The rest landed safely on the ground.

"Weird... I feel like there's a ghost near us, guys..." Maya said, opening her eyes.

Ky looked at Maya. "Marina... Techris..."

"OH GOD, THEIR GHOSTS ARE HAUNTING US! RUN!" Apex immediately got up and ran, but didn't get too far as Gia grabbed his shirt.

"Going anywhere, chicken?" Gia asked.

"Sorry." Apex said. He focused his attention on Maya. "Where are they, anyway?"

"Near..." Her eyes widened. Everyone felt a whiff of cold air, followed by the movement of metal objects.

"The thought of your student haunting you is... strange." Connor stated.

"Ok, I don't get the mechanics of being a ghost." Techris admitted. "Why exactly should I slap Ky with the watch?" He pointed to a silver watch laying on the ground.

Marina glared at him. "Just do it."

Techris nodded, grabbed the watch, got near Ky, and with a strong motion slapped him with it.

"OWW!" Ky braced his cheek. "What just-" The watch fell.

Techris laughed hysterically. "His reaction was priceless! Hear that? PRICELESS!"

Marina put her hand over his mouth. "Shush."

"O...kay." Boomer stared at the watch. "I guess that confirms their spirits are still alive.. at least."

"I have an idea!" Balistar grabbed Maya's X-Com. "How about we ask it to interfere with the X-Com? That way we may be able to hear them."

"Good idea." Mookee grabbed the device from Balistar, and set it on the ground. "Oh ghostie, come use this!"Mookee called. Everyone else laughed.

"Mookee is so funny." Marina said. She looked at the X-Com. "Why would he-" She stopped.

"He what?" Techris asked.

"Oh, I get it." She kneeled down, pressed Maya's X-Com button, and spoke slowly. "Hey... why is the sky so grim-looking?"

"Hey... why is the sky so grim-looking?" A choppy voice said.

Everyone gasped. "Okay...I'm scared." Apex admitted.

Ky used his own X-Com to respond to Maya's. "Since it's dark-colored, it must be the Shadow Kairu. Who's speaking?"

"Marina...Techris is with me..." The voice said again, this time clearer.

"Oh. My. Kairu." Maya looked behind everyone. "Guys..."

Everyone else looked behind. Without looking, Maya grabbed her X-Com and put it on.

"I think it's a GOOD time to." Boomer paused.

"RUN!" Everyone ran away from the horde of Shadow-Kairu infested people roaming the streets. They mindlessly went ahead. "Lokar...Lokar...Lokar..." They repeated.

Techris and Marina noticed the zombie-like people behind them.

"RUN! WE'VE GOT TO FOLLOW THE OTHERS!" She grabbed Techris's arm and pulled him forward, but to no use.

"Wait, they can't get us! We're already dead." Techris explained.

"Oh." Marina stopped and stood. One zombie passed through her, and then the next, but she felt nothing except energy.

"Ok, I guess we'll wait here. We can't do much for Ky anyway."

"I'm not friends with Ky." Techris stated.

"If you aren't then DON'T stick around with me." Marina said.

"Fine..." Techris went away from her. Marina was stuck in the horde of zombies that passed through her. She looked down, then towards where Techris went. "WAIT! I FORGIVE YOU!" She passed through the zombies and followed him.

A/N: Give my writing time to develop please, I've kinda lost practice. But anyways, I have another piece of info: After the chapters, all the characters go into backstage. I thought you would like to see Techris and Ky...

*grabs camera* Follow me!
*starts recording*

"HAHAHAHAHA!" Techris slapped Ky with the watch once more. Red marks were all over Ky's cheeks. "STOP IT!" Ky shouted.

"I WONT, ITS TOO FUNNY!" Techris kept slapping Ky with the watch. I, however, threw my camera towards Techris. He got hit in the face. "HEY! QUIT IT!" He looked at me.

Ky grabbed the watch and slapped him. He then took the camera and threw it at his face, knocking Techris out. "That's what you get for slapping me."

*back into A/N mode* Ok, well, anyways: I want to ask you something. Can somebody PLEASE make a drawing of Techris slapping Ky with a watch? It would be funny.
