Chapter 28
All of them with the exception of Jerry, Liesl and Faison sat on the couches and chairs available to them. They all watched as Robin began to pace twirling the gun nonchalantly in her hand.
"Robin, please think about what you're doing," Anna pleaded.
Robin stopped. She made her way over to the living room table and sat on it. "I have thought about this. You can't talk me out of doing this."
"Don't you see he is controlling you? He already tried to send you off to jail for life," Anna said desperately.
Robin shrugged her shoulders. "It was necessary and I don't blame him."
"So what's the plan here?" Robert questioned. "Kill us all and bury us here."
Robin rolled her eyes sarcastically. "I see why Jerry wanted you dead. You're infuriating. I should have shot you instead of that one over there."
Robert leaned forward. "Why don't you pull it then?"
"Robert," Anna admonished.
"No. Two can play this little game," he stated. "Robin is no longer our little girl. She is a threat."
"And you take care of threats, right?" Robin said. "Here's your chance," she added handing him the gun.
Robin got up and stood next to Jerry. "I don't think you have it in you," she taunted. Robert looked between the gun and his daughter several times contemplating his next move. All he needed was one second when he was sure his daughter wouldn't become a human shield for Jerry.
"I'm sorry but you've given me no choice," Robert said. He heard protests as he pulled the trigger hitting Jerry in the stomach.
No one said a word as Jerry fell onto the floor. It took Robin a second to register what happened before she let out a yell and crouched near him. "Jerry, stay with me." She looked up at Robert. "What have you done?!"
"It was either you or him," Robert explained. "I do indeed take care of threats."
Jax had brushed past everyone to reach his brother. "Jerry," he said softly.
Robin pushed Jax aside. "Get away from him!"
"Robin-
"Everyone out!" she yelled near hysterics. She screamed again when they didn't move fast enough. Nikolas and Jax dragged Faison out while Britt helped Liesl out the door. Robin watched them go and quieted down.
"Robin," Jerry called out.
"I'm here Jerry. I'm going to get help," she said. She got up and walked away taking the phone from her pocket. Jerry turned on his side to see Robin squat down and pick up the gun off the floor.
Robin heard her name being called and she smirked. "Jerry," she said softly.
"Yes Robin," he said trying to catch his breath.
"I have to thank you for everything you've done for me. You really did open my eyes," she said turning back around. She approached him showing him the phone and closing it.
"What are you doing?" he asked. "Call for help."
"No. And this...it's called the student surpassing the teacher in manipulation. Did you honestly think I would fall for your lines again? Did you think you were that good? I'm not an idiot and your arrogance proved to be your undoing. I pretended to be corrupted and played the part until I had my chance. And you will pay the price for keeping me prisoner."
"I don't understand," Jerry said.
"Let me spell it out for you. I have killed, stolen and buried every body you ordered me to kill because I didn't know better. I allowed you to enter my mind and heart. I allowed one corrupt soul to tarnish mine. You screwed with my mind for far too long and I can't take it anymore. I refuse to be your puppet and willingly let you pull the strings any longer. You need to go."
Robin sighed. "My dad hurting you wasn't expected but it presented a unique opportunity. I didn't really want a crowd around when I killed you. Now we can have our privacy," she said whispering the last part.
"I said no one was going to miss you. Well, maybe Jax. I'm sure somewhere deep down he will forgive you."
Robin pointed the gun over Jerry's heart. "I might go to jail for this but you will never have the opportunity to hurt anyone ever again. Goodbye."
The sound of a gunshot was heard causing everyone on the outside to go rigid.
"No," Patrick whispered.
He made a beeline for the door but by the time he got there, Robin opened it with an unreadable expression.
"Robin," he called out taking her face in his hands.
"He's gone," she said. "I'm sorry but I had to."
Patrick looked over her shoulder to see Jerry's body on the ground lifeless. "Anna," Patrick said.
She walked over and her eyes widened.
"Mom," Robin said. "Apparently I am capable of it."
"What happens now?" Patrick asked.
"Arrest me," Robin stated.
