Chapter 5: Preliminaries
Naruto stood up in the observatory platform as he watched Sasuke fight a genin that was taller than he was, that goes by the name of Yoroi Akado. Yoroi had this special ability to suck out a person's Chakra just by touching them. So far though Sasuke was making quick work of him with quick, precise taijutsu. Apparently, as it turns out there were too many genin that passed the second round, so there were preliminaries set up so that the number of genin would be drastically cut down.
On the sideline with naruto was sakura and ino. Ino was screaming her lungs out trying to inspire sasuke. Sakura on the other hand who was also cheering for sasuke was a little less enthusiastic than ino, she was still confused with her feelings. She felt like she still liked sasuke, but she just couldn't ignore these feeling she was getting for naruto. When she was with naruto she felt warm and giddy, and she just wanted to talk to him and be near him, but she decided that now was not the time or place to contemplate these feelings, so she ignored it for now.
Other than the three of them, there was also the rest of team 10, and team 8, along with their senseis. Naruto noticed that lee's team was also here along with the older lee, He looked across the room and saw the creepy Suna team with the weird red-headed kid.
Naruto focused his attention back to the fight in time to see Sasuke deliver a straight kick to the bottom of Yoroi's chin sending him skyward. Sasuke then followed up with a leap into the air appearing directly behind Yoroi in the Leaf's Shadow formation. Naruto watched intently as sasuke delivered two rib crushing kicks to Yoroi's sides, then he finished off by pushing Yoroi towards the ground and finishing with a devastating axe kick to Yoroi's abdomen which finished off the fight.
"Winner Sasuke Uchiha" Said the procter while holding up Sasuke's hand.
Sasuke smirked before walking up to the platform. As soon as he reached the top, He was immediately tackled by a purple, and blonde blur. "Ohh Sasuke-kun, you were so amazing!" Ino exclaimed
"Yeah you did great sasuke-kun." Sakura said happily
Naruto just stared at Sasuke "I want to fight you, Sasuke."
Sasuke smirked "Heh I want to fight you too."
With that they turned their attention back to the fights.

As sakura was walking back from her fight with Ino she thought back to her fight with Ino

Sakura stared straight into Ino's eyes as Ino cast her mind transfer jutsu straight at her.
"SAKURA-CHANNN MOVE! Came Naruto's voice from behind her.
Ino's chakra weaved hair, which was wrapped around Sakura's ankles, suddenly glowed red and dropped harmlessly to the ground. Sakura quickly dove to the right, sliding on her stomach as she felt a breeze brush her back. Looking up she noticed Ino's body droop slightly before snapping bolt right up and glaring at sakura.
" How did you do that Forehead" Ino said glaring at Sakura
"Psshh, Pig your jutsu's are predictable" Sakura said smugly even though she really didn't know either.
" Y-Yeah well I will end this in one punch" Ino yelled taking off with a fist cocked at Ino
"Bring it Pig" Sakura yelled as she sprinted at Ino too.

That's all Sakura remembers as she walked up the steps.
"Nice job Sakura-chan" Naruto says smiling at Sakura brightly
Sakura blushes a bit from Naruto's bright smile, shaking it off she nods at Naruto and says, "Thanks Naruto but I tied with Ino" Sakura said a little downcast
"What that is awesome I mean wasn't Ino the top kunoichi in the academy, and you were able to catch up to her and tie with her. If you ask me that is awesome." said Naruto still smiling
This time Sakura smiled and said "Thanks Naruto"
"NARUTO UZUMAKI AND KIBA INUZUKA PLEASE REPORT TO THE LOWER LEVEL"
Naruto was so distracted that he didn't even notice the board choose the next contestant's and apparently he was next.
Naruto smiled and hopped over the railing, where kiba was already waiting. When Kiba saw him he smirked.
"Alright Akamaru we got it easy, we are going to face that loser naruto"
Naruto grinned and flipped Kiba the bird. " Ha I wanna see you beat me dog breath"
Kiba Growled and got into a stance "We'll see about that loser"
"Alright already lets just get this fight underway, Geez" The proctor interrupted with an irritated tic mark on his forehead, "Alright let the fight between Uzumaki Naruto and Inuzuka Kiba Begin"
With that both Naruto and Kiba charged at each other.

Personally I felt this chapter wasn't the best I have done, but to tell you the truth I just wanted to get through this part because it does not really excite me the next part will be a time skip to naruto's training with Jiraiya and it will have a flashback to the fight between naruto and Kiba.
