Chapter Six
Multiversal Chase
Less than a day had passed since Minako's death, but her absence weighed heavy on the hearts of her friends, as well as the others in the base and trenches. "You hear about the guardian team yesterday?" A soldier asked as she sat at a table cleaning her gun.
"Who didn't. The poor girl was only seventeen, and she gave her life to stop those drones from being produced. She saved so many lives yesterday, it's too bad she couldn't save her own." Another soldier replied as he started putting his gun together.
"Rumor has it that Aku's quite pissed about his factory going up in smoke, he could appear at any moment to dish out his revenge." The first soldier quietly said as she finished cleaning her weapon and started assembling it.
"If he's smart he'll stay away for a long time. That samurai guy, Jack if I remember correctly, is actively hunting Aku. The whole base is also on high alert for any kind of retaliation on Aku's side." The second soldier replied as he smacked a magazine into the bottom of his gun. "Ha, eight minutes and thirty-five seconds on the dot. Told you I could disassemble, clean, and reassemble this thing in less than ten minutes." The soldier said with a grin.
"Nice job Thompson, but tell me, does that thing work without its charging handle?" The second soldier asked with a grin as she finished assembling her rifle.
"Damn it, I thought it looked weird. Good thing no superiors saw that, they'd have my ass for making a mistake that stupid." The man chuckled to himself as he opened his gun and inserted his charging handle.
"Your damn right I'll have your ass for a rookie mistake like that! Drop and give me twenty corporal chatter box!" Vance shouted as he came around the corner.
"Yes director!" The soldier yelled as he dropped to the floor and started his push-ups.
"Have any of you heard from the guardians yet today?" Vance asked as he sat down where the soldier who was now doing push-ups had been sitting.
"No sir, no one's seen or heard from them since they returned to base last night. They never even showed up for chow time sir." The second soldier answered with a sad expression.
"Which chow time, dinner or breakfast?" Vance asked with straight face.
"Both sir." The soldier clarified in a sad tone.
"Thank you. Now finish up, and don't forget your damn charging handle next time. That kind of mistake could cost you or someone else their life!" Vance yelled as he left.
"Won't happen again sir!" The first soldier shouted as he finished his pushups.
"Director, I'm glad I found you. We've got a problem." McGee informed as he ran up to Vance.
"When don't we McGee?" Vance asked as he continued walking.
"Not like this sir, Abby was running some tests, tests that Ami would normally run with her visor. But obviously they're not in a great place right now with what happened and all." McGee replied in a frantic tone.
"Get to the point McGee." Vance ordered as he stopped and stared at McGee.
"Sorry. Anyways, Abby was running some tests and trying to find Aku, and she came across this." McGee said as he handed Vance a picture of what looked like a black and white target.
"A target?" Vance asked in an unamused tone as he glanced at the picture.
"No, it's a tear in the space time continuum. At least that's what Abby thinks, it's similar to the portal that was opened when Ami's girls appeared on the Roosevelt. It's an inter universal portal, a tear in the fabric of space itself. It could lead to anywhere, any plausible reality you could think of could be on the other side of that portal. Anything from a land of fluffy bunnies to a world in which the Axis forces won the Second World War. It could be anything director, and as crazy as this may sound..." McGee explained until Vance interrupted him.
"We need to send people to check it out. If we overlook something as serious as a tear in the space time continuum we could be fighting dinosaurs at lunch and aliens by dinner. Get the rest of the team together McGee, I'll get the guardians. Meet in central command." Vance ordered as he quickly walked away. While Vance hastily walked towards the guardians bunk room, they were all lying in their beds, depressed from yesterday's events.
"Ami mommy?" Bubbles quietly said as she floated up to Mercury.
"Yeah?" Mercury quietly asked as she rolled over and looked at Bubbles.
"Will one of you take us to get breakfast please? We're hungry." Bubbles asked with a small frown as she looked down at her stomach, which grumbled as if on cue.
"Can't you three take yourselves? You've gone a million times before." Mars grumbled as she rolled over and curled into a ball.
"Sorry auntie Rei." Bubbles quietly said with a sad expression as she looked down at the floor.
"It's okay girls, Rei didn't mean that. She's just very sad today. Come on, let's go fill your tummies with some yummies." Mercury quietly said as she slowly got out of bed.
"I hope they have pancakes." Bubbles said with a smile as she and her sister followed Mercury out of the room.
"No one say it." Mars quietly said as she buried her face in her pillow.
"It's okay Rei, we know you didn't mean anything by it." Sailor Moon quietly replied as she looked over at Mars.
"Ten hours, thirty-two minutes, and nineteen seconds. That's how long she's been gone. I keep waiting for her to lay down next to me and put her arm around me, then press her big soft chest into my spine. I always pretended that I didn't like when she laid pressed up against my spine like that, but in truth I loved it. Like having two fluffy pillows keeping my spine aligned and my fears away. It let me know that she was there. Now all I feel is the cold weightlessness of nothing. No fluffy support, no giggling or lovey goodnights, no Mina." Mars cried to herself.
"Rei, I..." Sailor Moon started saying, until Mars cut her off.
"It doesn't matter Usagi, she's not coming back. So don't bother trying to comfort me, the only thing that will help even the slightest is to see Aku loose his head." Mars replied as she slammed her face into her pillow. Sailor Moon was heartbroken, it was hard enough to loose Minako like they had, but to see her friends suffering so much from the loss was almost as painful. As much as she wished she could comfort them and help them somehow, she knew there was nothing she could do. The only thing that could truly heal her friends now would be time.
"May I come in?" Vance quietly asked as he gently knocked on the wall of the room.
"No." Mars's muffled voice answered from under he covers.
"Come in director, please excuse Rei. She's taking Mina's loss even worse than we would've thought." Sailor Moon quietly said with a small frown.
"Fuck you Usagi." Mars snarked from under her covers.
"So what's going on director?" Sailor Moon asked, completely ignoring Mars's comment.
"A major problem, Abby detected some kind of tear in the space time continuum. Aku's clearly up to something, and I know how selfish this is going to sound, especially after what happened and all, but..." Vance started saying until Sailor Moon interrupted him.
"We'll check it out director." Sailor Moon answered before the question had even been asked.
"Speak for yourself Usagi, I'm staying here." Mars mumbled from under her covers.
"No you're not Rei, you're coming with us. We need to stick together now more than ever, it's what Minako would've wanted." Sailor Moon quietly said with a sad expression.
"Yeah, well I wanna be curled up in my bed at home with my grandpa in the other room and Minako next to me. But guess what Usagi, you don't always get what you want!" Mars snapped as she flipped her blanket off and glared at Sailor Moon.
"So that's it huh? You're just gonna give up Rei? After everything we've been through, all the people we've lost and the sacrifices that have been made; you're just gonna pull the blankets over your head and wait to die? What would Mina think about that? What would her death have been for then if we're just gonna give up and hand the multiverse over to Aku? She'd want us to fight, Rei, to make her sacrifice mean something!" Sailor Moon shouted as she glared back at Mars. "Now I'm giving you ten minutes to get your head out of your ass, your body out of that bed, and to meet us in the mesh hall. Is that understood Rei?" Sailor Moon informed in a low and angry tone.
"Yes princess." Mars quietly answered as she rolled on her side and stared at the wall.
"I'll see you in the mesh hall." Sailor Moon calmly said as she left the room.
"Are you sure about this Ms. Tsukino? I mean no disrespect at all, but do you think Ms. Hino's stable enough for the coming battle?" Vance asked as he walked alongside Sailor Moon.
"I know she seems bad Director, and she is. But if there's one thing I've always been able to count it's Rei's spirit, her unyielding dedication to her team and friends. When push comes to shove she'll be there for us, I'd bet my life on it director." Sailor Moon replied with a small smile. "Now if you'd excuse me director, I need to grab a bite with my friends before we talk to Abby about the mess it sounds like she's uncovered." Sailor Moon informed as she turned and walked away.
"There you go girls, now let's go take a seat somewhere." Mercury said with a smile as she lead the girls over to a table. "May we sit?" Mercury asked as she walked up to a table and its occupants.
"No need to ask permission Ami, have a seat." Ziva replied as she gestured to the seat across from her.
"Thank you." Mercury thanked as she and the puffs sat down.
"Got room for a few more?" Jupiter asked as she and Europa sat down next to Mercury and the puffs.
"The more the merrier." Ducky chuckled as everyone sat down.
"So, I hate to get down to business right away, but I hear that Abby found something rather alarming earlier." Mercury said as she looked at the N.C.I.S team.
"Yes, she's still running tests on the anomaly, but from what she could tell it was another serious rift in the space time continuum. Where the rift leads to though is anyone's guess." McGee explained as he took a bite of his meal.
"So command wants us to take a look at it, peek behind the iron curtain so to speak." Jupiter said with a serious expression.
"Exactly. Now, since you ladies aren't technically U.S soldiers, or soldiers of any country for that matter, no one can force you to do this." Tony informed with the same serious expression.
"That wouldn't be necessary, but I think you all know that already." Sailor Moon quietly said as she slowly sat down next to McGee.
"We do. How's Rei doing by the way?" Tony asked with a sad expression.
"About as well as anyone would think, but I talked to her and hopefully she'll pull her head out of her rear and realize that we still need her. She needs to keep moving forward, it's what Mina would've wanted." Sailor Moon explained with a sad smile.
"Well, it's part way out." A mumbled voice came from behind Sailor Moon.
"Hey Rei, glad to see you on your feet." Sailor Moon said with a smile as she turned around and looked at Mars.
"Wish I could say I was as happy to be on them as you are to see me on them." Mars quietly replied with a sad smile.
"Grab some food and have a seat, I think Abby was just about to start going over whatever it is she's discovered." Sailor Moon instructed with a small smile.
"Yes princess." Mars replied as she walked over to the serving area and got in line.
"How are the rest of you handling Ms. Aino's death, if you don't mind me asking?" Ducky asked with a straight face as he looked at each of the guardians.
"Better than Rei, but it still hurts." Mercury answered as she gently hugged the puffs. "It was too blunt a reminder of how fragile life is, and that even we with all of our powers aren't invincible." Mercury quietly answered with a sad expression.
"You worry what would happen should you suffer the same fate." Ducky calmly said as he stared at Mercury.
"Where would my girls go? Who would take care of them? What if something happens to me, or Mako, or god forbid all of us. What happens to our babies then?" Mercury quietly asked as she hugged the puffs tighter.
"You're not gonna die to, are you Ami mommy?" Bubbles quietly cried as she hugged Mercury.
"I don't wanna lie to you girls, what your aunties and I are most likely about to do is going to be very dangerous. There's a good chance that we might not make it. But as your mother, even adopted one, it's my job to make sure you girls are safe and cared for. So if something happens to me, Mako, your aunties, or all of us, you three are to fly straight back to Sarah's house. You go to your grammy and grandppy and tell them what happened, they'll make sure you girls are safe and cared for. Do you all understand?" Mercury quietly asked with a small smile.
"But, we don't want you to die." Blossom quietly cried as she stared at Mercury.
"I know you don't girls, and I don't wanna leave you. But what happens isn't up to you or me, or anyone for that matter. Fate will decide what happens to us when we confront Aku. But I won't leave the safety and care of my babies up to fate, if something happens to us you're to go straight back to Sarah's house as fast as you can. Do you all understand?" Mercury said with a sad smile as she stared at the puffs.
"Yes Ami mommy." All three puffs quietly answered.
"Good girls. If something does happen to me, I want you to give this note to your grammy." Mercury instructed as she handed Blossom a small folded piece of paper.
"What is it?" Blossom asked as she started unfolding the paper.
"Keep it folded please." Mercury said as she lightly squeezed Blossom's hand. "That's the location to my will, something that'll tell other people who are still alive what I want to happen after I die. After everything that happened with Reaper and Mikasa's world, I made a will and had it notarized and stamped by the city." Mercury explained as she gently stuffed the paper into Blossom's pocket.
"What's a will?" Buttercup asked with a confused expression.
"It's a legal document that lets people know what I want to happen when I die. Who I want my possessions to go to, who my life insurance should be paid to, what I want done with my body assuming it's recoverable. Lot's of important adult stuff, your grandparents will understand it better." Mercury explained with a small smile.
"So we give this to grammy and grandppy?" Bubbles asked with a curious expression.
"Only if I die, and I believe Mako made a similar document a while back as well. Right Mako?" Mercury asked as she looked at Jupiter.
"Yeah, it's in a lock box that I keep stashed under our bed." Jupiter answered as she took a bite of her meal.
"I always wondered what you kept in that box, I just assumed it was all those pictures you took of me on Valentine's Day." Mercury said with a smirk as she lightly nudged Jupiter.
"Well, I didn't say the will was the only thing in the box." Jupiter replied with a small grin.
"Why don't I write that on the note I gave you Blossom." Mercury said as she held her hand out.
"Okay." Blossom replied as she pulled the note out and handed it to Mercury.
"There we go, all taken care of." Mercury said as she scribbled a note on the paper and handed it back to Blossom.
"Alright, I have my food and a somewhat clear head. So let's get this over with." Mars said as she slowly sat down next to Sailor Moon. "What'd I miss?" Mars asked as she looked around the table at everyone.
"Just some family talk between the girls and us, nothing too important." Jupiter answered as she took a bite of her meal.
"Alright, now that we're all here we can discuss what Abby found and our part in the discovery." Sailor Moon calmly said as she looked at her friends.
"We're all ears Usagi." Mars replied as she stared intently at Sailor Moon.
"Well, from what we understand, Abby's discovered a major rift in the space time continuum. It's essentially a portal that we assume Aku is responsible for. Now I know that rule three says to never assume and to double check, but that's gonna be next to impossible in this case. So we'd like to ask you ladies for an extremely unfair favor." Tony explained with a serious expression.
"What we'd like you all to do is to investigate this portal, and if possible, enter it. Aku may be hiding on the other side of it, and if that's the case then we have the potential to surprise him. As far as we can tell he doesn't know that we're aware of the portals existence. Would you ladies be willing to take that risk on behalf of the world?" McGee asked in a serious tone as he stared at everyone.
"Well, what do you all think?" Sailor Moon asked as she looked at the rest of the guardians.
"I say we go through that portal, find Aku, and wipe the stain that he is from the face of the multiverse." Mars replied through gritted teeth.
"What do the rest of you say?" Sailor Moon asked as she looked at the rest of her team.
"I say we send the bastard back to hell where he belongs." Europa replied as she looked at Jupiter.
"Let's do it Usagi." Jupiter replied as she looked at Mercury.
"Our hearts and souls to the cause." Mercury said with a small frown.
"It's decided then. We go through the portal, hunt Aku down, and finish this once and for all." Sailor Moon said as she raised her glass in the air. "For freedom!" Sailor Moon shouted with enthusiasm.
"For freedom!" The others yelled back as they all clinked their cups together.
"A fine speech as always Ms. Tsukino, you should consider becoming a politician." Ducky chuckled to himself.
"I don't think I'd make a good politician in this day and age." Sailor Moon giggled as she finished her meal.
"Why not Usagi?" Ziva asked with a confused expression.
"Because she's a woman who likes to get things done, something politicians are rarely known for." Vance answered with a grin as he and Abby approached the table.
"Director Vance, to what do we owe the pleasure?" Ducky asked as he looked up at Vance.
"I came to ask about your game plan, but I overheard the majority of it already. The only question now is when do we take action?" Vance asked as he looked at Sailor Moon.
"As soon as I chug this glass of water." Sailor Moon answered as she gulped down the rest of her water. "Let's go get this bastard." Sailor Moon said in a serious tone as she stood from the table.
"Ami mommy, what's a bastard?" Bubbles asked in an innocent tone.
"It's something that your aunties shouldn't've said in front of you." Mercury replied as she stared at Sailor Moon and Europa.
"Sorry, I got all fired up." Sailor Moon apologized with a nervous smile.
"Well now Aku's about to get all fired up, and not in the way he'd want to." Mars said with a wicked grin as she stood up.
"Alright girls, your aunties and mommies have to go beat Aku up now. You all stay here and be safe, hopefully I'll see you all later." Mercury said with a smile as she hugged the puffs. "Ami mommy loves you three so much, and nothing will ever change that." Mercury quietly said as she gave all three puffs a kiss. "Be good girls, hopefully we'll be back soon." Mercury quietly said as she handed the puffs to Jupiter.
"Mako mommy loves you three with all her heart, and she's gonna make sure that you girls get to live long safe lives. Be good for everyone here, and hopefully we'll be back soon." Jupiter quietly said as she hugged the girls as tight as she could, then gave them each a kiss.
"Abby, I know I'm asking a lot here and all, but..." Mercury started asking until Abby interrupted her.
"I'd be honored to watch over them for you Ami, I'll make sure they're well cared for." Abby answered before Mercury could even ask. "Take care of yourselves, I'll be waiting for you guys to come back." Abby quietly said as she hugged Mercury and the others.
"Thanks Abby." Mercury replied as she hugged Abby back.
"Alright, let's get to that portal. Where is it exactly?" Sailor Moon asked as she looked at Abby.
"Far." Abby answered with a straight face.
"How far?" Sailor Moon replied with a blank expression.
"How do you feel about temperatures that average minus seventy-one degrees Fahrenheit?" Abby asked with a nervous smile.
"What's the seventy one being subtracted from?" Sailor Moon asked with a confused expression, not understanding what Abby was saying.
"Nothing Usagi, Abby's saying that wherever this portal is, the temperature can drop to seventy-one degrees below zero. There's only one place in the world that can happen, and we've been there before." Mercury explained with a stern expression.
"The arctic." Sailor Moon replied as she thought back to their battle with Beryl and Natalia.
"Exactly." Mercury answered with a straight face.
"Well then, I suppose we should get going before we get cold feet." Sailor Moon said with a grin.
"You think they're cold now, give it about ten seconds. They'll be freezing." Mars said with a light chuckle as she held her hand out to Sailor Moon.
"Let's get this over with, find Aku and kill him." Jupiter said as she and Europa stepped into a circle with the others.
"Aren't you ladies forgetting someone?" Tony asked as he stared at the group.
"Nope, he should be here any moment now." Sailor Moon said as she looked in the corner at a man in a straw hat, who was eating a piece of fruit. The man finished his fruit then stood and approached the group.
"I heard the plan and I like it, let's go put Aku down once and for all." The man said with a smile as he removed his hat.
"Let's get going, Samurai Jack." Sailor Moon said with a smile as she held her hand out to Jack.
"Wait Ami mommy!" Blossom suddenly yelled as she and her sisters dashed over to Mercury.
"Here, take these. Just in case something unexpected happens, it's not like we need them to go home or anything." Buttercup quietly said as she and her sisters removed their multiversal transporter watches, then handed them out to Sailor Moon, Jupiter, and Mars.
"Thank you girls, now we can maneuver through the multiverse easier. We have a total of four multiversal transporters now, so everyone who doesn't have a watch should partner up with someone who does. Once you find a partner stay with them at all times, there's no telling when or if we'll have to jump universes." Sailor Moon ordered as she slipped the watch on.
"Yes princess." Everyone else replied as the remaining watch holders put theirs on.
"Something you should all know about the watches, they're easy to use and you determine a destination either by entering a multiversal coordinate, or by locking onto the built in MPS of other watches." Mercury explained as she held up her own watch.
"Don't you mean GPS?" Europa asked as she looked at Mercury.
"No, MPS stands for multiverseal positioning system. It works like GPS, except instead of tracking your position on the planet it tracks your position in the multiverse. Now let's get going." Mercury said in a firm tone as she and the others looked up at the ceiling. "Sailor teleport!" Everyone shouted. In a flash the guardians and Jack were gone, leaving everyone staring in awe at their magnificent power.
"Good luck everyone, may God be with you all." Vance said as he stared up at the ceiling.
With another bright flash the guardians appeared in one of the harshest environments Mother Earth had at her disposal. "Holly shit! I think I already have frost bite!" Mars shouted as she jumped around in shock of the cold.
"Welcome to the arctic I suppose." Mercury replied as she looked around. There was nothing but vast empty fields of snow covered land, no animals, no shelter, not even a rock. Just a flat barren landscape of ice and snow.
"Ami, scan the area for any kind of anomalies. Anything that could tell us where that portal is." Sailor Moon ordered as she looked over at Mercury.
"I'm already on it." Mercury answered as she flipped on her visor and pulled her computer out.
"Make it quick, Jack isn't protected by any kind of magic like we are!" Sailor Moon ordered as she stared at Jack.
"I have trained years to survive even the harshest of conditions for at least a few hours without protection. I'll be fine Usagi." Jack informed as he did his best to control his shivering and breathing.
"Got something! Two-hundred meters to the southwest, there's an odd energy signal that doesn't belong in the environment!" Mercury informed as she put her computer away and started leading everyone towards the energy signal.
"Then let's go!" Sailor Moon replied as she and the others started following Mercury. The wind was so harsh that the snow it blew around felt like shards of glass on everyone's exposed skin, but the guardians ignored the painful bite of the arctic cold and bravely forged ahead.
"Look!" Jupiter shouted as she pointed at a swirling black and white circle.
"A time portal! I can use it to return to my own time!" Jack shouted as he ran towards the portal.
"Surprise samurai!" Aku's voice echoed over the open landscape as he suddenly appeared next to the time portal.
"Aku!" Jack shouted as he reached for his sword.
"Tsk Tsk, you know what's gonna happen next. I break the portal, you swing and miss, then I run off saying I'll be back samurai. Same old same old." Aku said as he lightly shook his head back and forth.
"Not this time you son of a bitch." Mercury quietly said to herself as she took off her transporter watch, then packed it into a ball of snow. "Take this Aku!" Mercury shouted as she charged right up to Aku and stared at him.
"A snow ball? HA! You must've lost your mind from the cold little girl, but you know what, I'm a good sport. Go ahead, I enjoy a good game every now and then." Aku said with a smug grin as he stared down at Mercury.
"Thanks." Mercury replied with a grin of her own as she stuffed the snow ball, and consequently the transporter watch into Aku's body.
"AH! That's not how you play snowball fighting, you do this!" Aku shouted as he grabbed a huge wad of snow and buried Mercury under it.
"AMI!" Jupiter screamed as she watched Mercury get buried under a mountain of snow.
"Aku!" Jack screamed as he took a swing at Aku with his sword.
"I'm done playing here with you pests, see you later samurai!" Aku shouted as he destroyed the time portal, then vanished as suddenly as he'd appeared.
"Coward!" Jack shouted at the top of his lungs as he stared at the spot Aku had just been.
"Ami! Ami talk to me, are you alright?!" Jupiter yelled as she ran over to Mercury.
"J-just c-c-cold as h-hell." Mercury answered as she violently shivered. "I g-g-got the w-watch in t-to p-p-place." Mercury shivered as she looked down at her watch.
"Good work Ami, now let's go get him. Hopefully he's somewhere warmer." Sailor Moon said with a small smile as she activated her own watch.
"You good Ami?" Jupiter asked as she helped Mercury to her feet.
"I'll l-l-live." Mercury said through chattering teeth as she looked at Jack.
"Let's go then." Sailor Moon ordered as she jumped through the portal, followed by everyone else.
Seconds later the guardians exited the portal and found themselves in an entirely different environment. "Well, at least it's warmer here." Mars said as she and the others looked around a bit. They were on the roof of a tall building in some kind of large city.
"Any idea where we are?" Sailor Moon asked as she looked over at Mercury.
"Give me a sec." Europa answered as she looked down at the display screen on her watch. "The watch has this universe labeled as T M N T dot one dash seven. No idea what it means other than the fact that it's not our world." Europa informed as she looked up from her watch.
"Any idea where Aku is?" Mercury asked as she looked around a bit.
"No, but I know one thing. We're being watched." Jupiter quietly informed as she glanced at a higher section of the roof, seeing four pairs of eyes watching them.
"Those four aren't the only ones watching us, I've got more than a dozen unknown heartbeats in the vicinity." Europa informed as she scanned the area with her visor.
"That can't be right, there's nothing here except whoever or whatever those four things are." Sailor Moon replied as she looked around a little.
"They're here Usagi, the scanner doesn't lie. Keep your eyes..." Europa started to say, until she suddenly jumped backwards just seconds before a dagger flew into the ground in front of her feet.
"What the hell was that?!" Mars shouted as she looked in the direction the dagger had come from.
"I've seen this weapon before, it's a kunai. A type of throwing dagger that's commonly used by masters of ninjitsu." Jack informed as he drew his sword from its sheath.
"Great, just what we need. An army of ninjas, what could be worse than that?" Mars snarked as she looked at the rooftops surrounding them, seeing ninjas in full black outfits covering almost every square inch of each roof.
"That." Sailor Moon quietly answered as she stared at the ominous silhouette of a tall being with dozens of spikes coming out of it. The four original pairs of eyes watched carefully, waiting to see what would happen next.
"What now, do we help?" One of the beings asked as it looked over at another.
"Not yet Don, we don't know who those people are. They just appeared there all of a sudden, they could be with that other thing that showed up a few seconds before them." Another one replied as it continued to watch Sailor Moon and the others.
"What if they aren't though, if we don't do something then old bucket head's gonna waste 'em?" A third one asked in an agitated tone.
"I don't think they're gonna be as easy to stop as they look. There's something odd about them, supernatural even. Whatever they are they're not from here." The first being informed with a curious expression.
"Maybe they're superheroes! You think they'd give me an autograph?" The fourth one asked with a grin.
"Focus Mikey, this could get ugly. If they're friends then we need to be ready to jump in and help." The second one instructed as it continued to watch the guardians closely.
"Foot ninja, attack!" The spiked warrior ordered as he pointed a gloved hand with a duel spiked gauntlet on it at everyone.
"What do we do Usagi?" Mars asked as she grabbed her ODM handles.
"Whatever it takes to survive, we can't let Aku escape. Give your hearts and souls to the cause!" Sailor Moon screamed as she held her guns up and started shooting.
"Yikes, I did not see that coming. That's harsh treatment even for a bunch of foot ninjas." The third being said as it watched the chaos unfold.
"They're all down, all except spiky over there." Europa said as she lowered her guns.
"Last chance bucket head, take a hike or join your pals!" Sailor Moon shouted as she glared at the spiked warrior.
"The foot are legion, I have many more bodies to throw at you, but how many bullets do you have to throw at us?" The warrior asked as twice as many ninja leapt from the shadows and surrounded the guardians.
"We've got more than bullets." Mars said through gritted teeth as she took a stable stance. "Fire soul!" Mars called out, sending a wave of flames barreling towards the spiked warrior.
"What did you say about supernatural again Don?" The third creature asked as it looked over at the first one.
"Enough of this, it's time to intervene." The second one ordered as it stood and drew two katanas from the sheathes on its back.
"Now you're talking." The third creature said as it pulled two small sais from its belt.
"This is the part when someone says, I've got a bad feeling about this." The fourth creature said as it grabbed two nunchucks.
"Glad you got that part covered Mikey." The first one said as it pulled a bo staff off its back.
"Let's go!" The second creature ordered as it jumped down to the guardians, followed by the other three.
"Four more targets incoming!" Mercury yelled as she drove an icicle into one of the last ninjas.
"The turtles!" The spiked warrior yelled as it glared at the four approaching creatures.
"Oh shit." Jupiter swore as the creatures landed in front of them. The spiked guy wasn't kidding when he said turtles, the creatures were around five feet tall and looked like giant turtles. They were each wearing brown belts, knee pads, and elbow pads. The first turtle was wearing a purple bandana, the second was wearing a blue one, the third had a red one on, and the fourth turtle had an orange bandana.
"Just when I thought this shit couldn't get any weirder!" Mercury yelled as she ripped a dagger of ice out a foot ninja's neck.
"We thought the foot were bad, but you six are absolutely insane! You're a bunch of murderers!" The second creature shouted as it pointed its katana at Sailor Moon.
"They attacked first, we just did what we were use to doing." Sailor Moon said in a low and angry tone as she glared at the creature.
"How can anyone be use to killing like that? You had no remorse for what you did, no hesitation of any kind!" The creature shouted as it took a step towards Sailor Moon.
"Our history has taught me that when we hesitate we end up watching our friends die. I already lost two good friends to Aku, I won't loose anymore." Sailor Moon replied as she stared the creature down.
"Enough of this sappy talk, you're all going to perish!" The spiked warrior shouted as he swung one of his spiked gloves at Sailor Moon's back.
"Not on your life spiky! Sparkling wide pressure!" Jupiter shouted as she threw an orb of lighting at the warrior.
"AAAAH!" The warrior screamed in agony as the lightning impacted his metal suit, amplifying its effects. Seconds later the warrior fell to the ground dead.
"Whoa, did she just... yikes." The fourth creature quietly said as it stared at the smoldering body of the warrior.
"It had to be done, my job is to protect my princess at all costs." Jupiter said as she glared at the creatures.
"I don't think we wanna get involved in this Leo, these girls are like something out of another world." The first creature said as it looked at the one in the blue bandana.
"That's exactly what they are, like that thing that came through here a few minutes before they showed up." The second creature replied as it put its katanas away.
"You saw Aku?" Jack asked as he stared at the creature.
"If that's what it's called. Flaming eyebrows, spikes on it's head, and mainly black in color?" The creature asked as it looked at Jack.
"That's him. He's a demon that's trying to take over the multiverse." Mercury informed in a serious tone.
"The multiverse?! It actually exists?! That's incredible!" The first creature beamed as it stared at Mercury with a look of excitement.
"We should introduce ourselves. My name's Leonardo, and these are my brothers." The one in the blue bandana introduced itself.
"Donatello, nice to meet you ladies. I think." The one in the purple bandana introduced with a small smile.
"Raph." The one in the red bandana introduced with a nod.
"I'm Michelangelo, but call me Mikey, and I think superheroes like you are awesome!" The one in the orange bandana yelled with enthusiasm as it ran up to Sailor Moon.
"Back up pal!" Sailor Moon shouted as she pointed her gun at Mikey.
"Easy there, he's harmless." Leonardo said as he grabbed Mikey's bandana and yanked him backwards.
"I don't know, I hear it's the dumb one's you've gotta watch out for." Mars grumbled as she stared at Mikey.
"I like this one." Raph said with a grin.
"So about that creature, what is it exactly?" Donatello asked as he looked at Sailor Moon.
"Like we said, he's a demon of some kind. A demon we need to catch, and fast. Sorry to chat and run guys, but the fate of the multiverse is hanging in the balance." Sailor Moon said as she looked down at her transport watch.
"Good luck, and be careful." Leonardo said with a smile as he looked at everyone.
"Thanks. Oh and, sorry about stepping on your toes earlier. We didn't mean to get in the middle of whatever it was you were doing with all of those ninjas." Sailor Moon apologized as she looked back at Leonardo.
"Don't worry about it, at least Shredder can't hurt anyone anymore. Even he's not getting back up from that hit." Leonardo replied as he looked over at Shredder's fried corpse.
"That's Mako for ya. See ya around fellas." Sailor Moon said as she jumped through the portal, followed by the rest of her team.
"What the shell just happened here?" Raph asked as he looked at Donatello.
"Proof that the multiverse is real." Donatello quietly answered in a shocked tone.
With a flash the guardians were dumped into another wild universe. "Where are we now?" Sailor Moon asked as she looked down at her watch. "Universe MLTR dot one dash three." Sailor Moon answered her own question as she looked up from her watch.
"Looks like we're in some kind of suburban neighborhood." Mercury pointed out as she looked around a little. As the guardians took in their surroundings, they were all shocked by the sound of a sonic boom and instinctively dropped to the ground.
"What the hell was that?!" Mars screamed as she looked at Sailor Moon.
"Do you think it's Aku?!" Europa shouted as she looked at Mercury.
"No, it's a damn robot!" Jupiter answered as she pointed at an odd robot that was landing next to a large house.
"Don't engage, we don't know this universe at all, that could be normal here." Mercury informed as she watched the robot walk through the front the door.
"Wakeman! Your robot daughter set off my car alarm with her sonic boom again!" An angry neighbor shouted towards a large gray three story house.
"Sorry Mr. Nelson!" The robot yelled as it waved at the man before closing the door.
"Normal kids are bad enough, but a damn robot is just too much. I'm moving one of these days." The man grumbled as he walked inside.
"Well, I guess it's kind of normal." Jupiter chuckled as she looked around some more. "Any idea where Aku might be?" Jupiter asked as she looked at Mercury.
"Close." Mercury answered as she narrowed down the grid on her watch.
"How close?" Sailor Moon asked as she looked at Mercury.
"Based on the tracker, that house." Mercury answered as she pointed at the house the robot had gone into.
"Figures." Mars grumbled as she shook her head.
"Time to end this." Jack said as he drew his sword and started approaching the house.
"Agreed. Jack, you Kaede and I will take the front. Ami, Mako, and Rei will take the back. Let's get in there, kill Aku, and put an end to this nightmare." Sailor Moon ordered as she approached the house. Everyone quickly started moving to their designated spots, but none of them were prepared for what happened next.
"Someone tripped an alarm outside, let's see what's going on." An older woman said to herself as she started typing on a computer. "Intruders, on my property?! XJ-9, come here, and quickly!" The woman shouted in a panicked tone. A few seconds later a seven foot tall blue and white robot sauntered into the room.
"What is it now mom, another cluster invasion?" The robot asked with a sigh.
"No! Intruders on our own lawn!" The woman yelled as she pointed at the computer screen.
"It's probably just Tuck again, he's always sneaking around like that." The robot replied with a wave of its hand.
"Does Tuck normally dress up in a mini skirt and carry guns?" The woman asked as she looked at the robot.
"Skirt, maybe; guns, no. I'll check it out." The robot said as it quickly left the room.
"Alright Mako, let's get in there and end this." Mercury quietly said as she stood behind Jupiter.
"Ready? Three, two, one, go." Jupiter counted before opening the door and entering the house. "Room clear, moving to next area." Jupiter quietly said as she held her guns out and slowly moved through the mud room and into a hallway.
"Dining room clear, meet up with the others now." Mercury informed as she slowly started leading everyone towards the front section of the house.
"Our side's clear." Sailor Moon informed as she and her group met up with Mercury's.
"Let's head upstairs." Mars instructed as she slowly started up the steps.
"Hey! What are you people doing in our house?!" The robot yelled from behind Mercury.
"Don't move!" Mercury shouted as she aimed her guns at the robot.
"That the best you've got? You guys broke into the wrong house." The robot said with a grin as its hand transformed in a large energy cannon.
"We're sorry we broke into your home robot girl, but..." Sailor Moon started explaining, until the robot interrupted her.
"Jenny, my name's Jenny." The robot informed in a slightly upset tone. The robot was interesting looking, standing at six and a half feet tall, it towered over Jupiter even. It had two large white circles on it's face with slightly smaller black circles in them in the center of its head, almost like eyes. It also had two light blue triangles screwed onto a round white head that had a little blue on the top like hair. It's arms were white and it had what looked like a bra or crop top design on its chest that was the same color as its hair. It also had some kind of metal skirt around its hips and what was maybe supposed to be boots painted on it from about a third of the way down its legs to just over halfway down its feet, both of which were the same color as its hair.
"Jenny, sorry. We didn't come in here to hurt you or anyone else Jenny, we came in here following a demon." Sailor Moon explained as she slowly lowered her guns.
"A demon? That's interesting, all I ever get to fight are lame robots from the cluster." Jenny replied as she also lowered her weapon.
"Do you have any kind of technology that could track something that may be the size of a mouse or rat?" Mercury asked as she flipped on her visor.
"Sure." Jenny replied as she blinked a few times, changing the color of her eyes with every blink. "How's infrared vision for you?" Jenny asked with a smile.
"It should work, I believe Aku gives off a heat signature. Thank you Jenny." Mercury thanked with a smile.
"No problem uh... I'm sorry, what was your name again?" Jenny asked as she scanned around for Aku.
"My name's Ami, and these are my friends Usagi, Rei, Mako, Kaede, and Jack." Mercury introduced, gesturing to each of her friends as she gave their names.
"Nice to meet you all, now let's go find this ugly rodent." Jenny said with a smile as she started walking through her house.
"XJ-9, what on earth are you doing?! Those are the intruders, stop them!" The older woman yelled into a headset she was wearing.
"They're not the bad guys mom, they're trying to find a bad guy that snuck in here." Jenny clarified as she continued walking through her house.
"Who are you talking to Jenny?" Sailor Moon asked as she and the others followed Jenny.
"My mom, she's talking to me through a headset. Well she's wearing a headset, I just listen to her via an antenna in my head." Jenny explained as she stopped outside of a closed door. "Oh that snake, how dare he go into my room!" Jenny shouted as she stared at at a partially open door.
"How do you know he went in there?" Mercury asked in a curious tone.
"Because my door's always closed unless I'm in there. I'm gonna kick that things butt." Jenny grumbled as she stomped into her room. "Alright bub, I know you're in here! Get out of my room!" Jenny shouted as she scanned her room. "Ah-ha! Gotcha you rotten little rodent!" Jenny yelled as she used an extendable arm to reach under her bed and grab Aku.
"Oh but you are mistaken little robot girl, it is I who have you!" Aku yelled with an evil grin as he changed back into his usual form and grabbed Jenny in his hand.
"Release her Aku, now!" Jack ordered as he pointed his sword at Aku.
"You know what, this heavy hunk of metal would make a great bat!" Aku yelled with a laugh as he swung Jenny at everyone like a bat, knocking Jack off his feet and narrowly missing the others.
"Let me go you creep!" Jenny yelled as she struggled in Aku's grasp.
"But we're having so much fun little robot girl, in fact, I think we should go for a stroll!" Aku yelled with glee as he smashed part of the wall, then jumped out of the house.
"After them!" Sailor Moon ordered as she leapt out the hole, followed by everyone else.
"XJ9?! XJ9 are you there?!" Jenny's mom shouted into her head set. "Kids these days, you can't even program them to listen to you." Jenny's mom grumbled as she got up from her chair and walked out of the room. While Jenny's mom casually walked towards Jenny's room, the guardians and Jack were in hot pursuit of Aku.
"Hold on Jenny, we're coming!" Sailor Moon yelled as she took to the skies in the hopes of catching up to Aku.
"Let me go you ugly creep! Take that!" Jenny yelled as she blasted Aku in the face with a laser cannon.
"Thanks for the tan, I think it suits me." Aku said with a smile as the smoke from the blast cleared, revealing no damage of any kind had been done.
"That, that's impossible. Nothing can take a direct hit from my energy cannon like that, especially at this close of range! What are you?!" Jenny shouted in obvious fear as she stared at Aku.
"I am Aku, the shape shifting master of darkness, the shogun of sorrow! I am invincible!" Aku said with a sinister laugh.
"Nothing's invincible Aku, and here's proof!" Sailor Moon yelled as she flung her wings forward, unleashing the full might of her angelic feather barrage.
"AH! The feathers, they're as bad as the sword!" Aku shouted as he threw Jenny on the ground, then stepped on her before turning to face Sailor Moon.
"Jenny!" Sailor Moon screamed in horror, thinking that Jenny had just been crushed.
"What?!" Jenny shouted back as she started wiggling her way out from under Aku.
"Thank God you're alright, I thought you were dead." Sailor Moon said with a relived sigh.
"So did I! What the hell are you?!" Aku yelled in anger as he stepped on Jenny again.
"I'm a teenage robot!" Jenny shouted with a grin as she started lifting Aku's foot off of her.
"A robot?! Well then, that changes everything!" Aku yelled with an evil grin as he looked down at Jenny.
"You bet it does bub, you're going down!" Jenny yelled as she flew up to Aku's face and stared him down.
"So robot girl, how do you feel about electromagnetic pulses?!" Aku asked with a wicked grin.
"Electro what?" Jenny asked in a confused tone as she stared at Aku.
"Jenny, get out of there!" Mercury screamed as she fired a line from her ODM rig, hoping to hit Jenny with it and pull her to safety.
"Too late!" Aku yelled with an evil smile as he took a breath, then screamed at Jenny.
"Can Aku make EMP waves just from yelling?!" Europa asked as she looked over at Jack.
"I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised. Aku has many wicked powers that he can use to spread his evil throughout the universe." Jack answered as he and everyone else stared at Jenny.
"AAAH!" Jenny screamed in shock as the waves vibrated throughout her, frying her circuits and destroying her powercore.
"Jenny!" Sailor Moon shouted while she watched in horror as Jenny fell from the sky. "Hold on, I'm coming!" Sailor Moon yelled as she dive bombed towards the ground, swooping under Jenny and catching her at the last second before she slammed into the ground.
"Oops, I broke another toy. Oh well, I've got plenty more to play with." Aku said with a wicked grin as he looked at the guardians and Jack.
"Cover me guys, I'm going to help Usagi and Jenny!" Mercury ordered as she ran towards Sailor Moon.
"How touching, you treat the robot like she matters. It's so touching that I think I might BARF! Ha ha!" Aku cruelly laughed.
"We're gonna kill you Aku!" Mars screamed as she and everyone but Sailor Moon and Mercury charged at Aku. While everyone else fought with Aku, Mercury and Sailor Moon were trying to help Jenny.
"Jenny! Jenny look at us!" Sailor Moon yelled as she gently lifted Jenny's head, seeing that her eyes were cold and darkened. "Do something Ami, we can't let this girl die due to our fight. We have to save her." Sailor Moon ordered as she held Jenny in her arms.
"I'll do everything I can Usagi, but you need to go and help the others." Mercury replied as she flipped on her visor and scanned Jenny.
"Okay, good luck Ami." Sailor Moon said as she set Jenny down, then ran over to her friends.
"Look out sis!" Jupiter shouted as she pushed Europa to the side, just before Aku could grab her.
"Thanks Mako, I owe you one!" Europa yelled as she quickly got to her feet.
"Stop squirming you worms, I want to destroy you!" Aku yelled as he swung a fist at Europa.
"He really hates you Kaede!" Sailor Moon yelled as she ran up to Europa.
"How's Jenny?!" Europa asked as she launched some icicles at Aku.
"Ami's doing everything she can, but we have to buy her time." Sailor Moon answered as she launched some feathers at Aku.
"Focus on the battle!" Jupiter yelled as she grabbed Europa and pulled her to the side, just before two lasers shot out of Aku's eyes, striking the ground where Europa had been standing.
"Thanks sis, I owe you two now." Europa said as she looked at Aku, trying to think of a way to fight back. While the others fought Aku, Mercury was carefully and quickly working on rebooting Jenny.
"That should do it, now we just need to give her a shock. A big shock." Mercury said to herself as she looked at Europa. "Kaede!" Mercury shouted towards Europa.
"Yeah?!" Europa yelled back as she narrowly dodged being crushed by Aku.
"I need you to give Jenny a shock, a big shock!" Mercury informed as she started running towards Europa.
"I'll take care of it, you guys cover me!" Europa yelled as she and Mercury switched places. Europa sprinted over to Jenny, then formed an unnelectrified igloo next to her. "Wow you're heavy." Europa groaned as she sat Jenny up and leaned her against the igloo. "Alright Jenny, time for you to wake up." Europa said as she cracked her knuckles, then electrified her igloo. The igloo began to corse with bolts of electricity, Europa increased the voltage of her igloo until it hit its maximum voltage of one million. The bolts began to dance and crawl over Jenny's body, powering her back up within seconds.
"What? What happened?" Jenny quietly asked as she looked at Europa through half closed eyes.
"That doesn't matter right now, all that matters is that you're okay. Stay here, we'll deal with..." Europa started to say, until a blood curdling scream silenced her.
"REI!" Sailor Moon screamed in horror as she and everyone else stared at Mars.
"Look, Martian on a stick. My favorite!" Aku yelled with an evil laugh as he held Mars in the air, having impaled her with a spike made from his own body.
"Rei! Hold on, we're gonna save you!" Sailor Moon shouted with tears as she stared at Mars. The spike had pierced clean through Mars's chest and out her back, and blood was slowly dripping from her mouth as Aku dangled her in the air.
"No more Aku! No more will die by your wicked hands!" Jack shouted as jumped in the air, then sliced Aku's hand off with his sword.
"AH! The sword! Curse you Samurai!" Aku yelled in anger as he changed his form to a bat. "So long fools!" Aku yelled with a laugh as he once again vanished.
"Rei! Rei look at me, look at me Rei!" Sailor Moon shouted as she ran over to Mars and took her hand. "Kaede! Kaede get over here now!" Sailor Moon screamed in a panic as she squeezed Mars's hand. "It's gonna be okay Rei, it's gonna be okay." Sailor Moon quietly cried as she held Mars's hand.
"Usagi! Usagi what... Rei." Europa started asking, until she looked down at Mars.
"Do something Kaede!" Sailor Moon screamed as she squeezed Mars's hand.
"Usagi I can't, I can't summon my bag from a different universe. It doesn't work." Europa quietly reminded with tears in her eyes as she knelt down by Mars.
"U-Usagi." Mars quietly said as she squeezed Sailor Moon's hand.
"I'm here Rei, you just stay with us okay." Sailor Moon cried as she held onto Mars.
"It... it's okay, I...can...see her...again." Mars said with a soft smile and a few tears.
"No. No you can't die Rei, you can't die." Sailor Moon cried as she held onto Mars's hand as tight as she could.
"I thought...you were...done being...Usagi the...crybaby." Mars quietly said with a smile as she closed her eyes and went limp.
"Rei? Rei? Rei wake up! Wake up Rei!" Sailor Moon yelled as she shook Mars a few times. "Rei! Rei you can't, you can't leave us! Come back Rei, please come back!" Sailor Moon cried as she held Mars's hand and let her head fall onto Mars's chest.
"Rei." Mercury quietly said as she and everyone else stared down at Mars's body.
"No. No more. No more death!" Sailor Moon screamed in fury as she whipped her wings open to their full spread and stared up at the sky. "I'll find you Aku, I'll find you and kill you with my bare hands! You hear me Aku! I'm gonna kill you, there's nowhere in all of existence that you can hide from me you son of a bitch! I'll kill you!" Sailor Moon screamed in a blind rage. "Find Aku, find him and kill him! NOW!" Sailor Moon ordered as she looked back at her team. She was seething with rage and no one dared to say anything to her. "Why are you standing here staring at me, let's find the fucker and kill him!" Sailor Moon screamed as she glared at everyone.
"What about Rei?" Mercury quietly asked, being the only one brave enough to speak.
"We'll send her home." Sailor Moon quietly answered as she placed Mars's hands one over the other in the center of her chest, then looked at Mars's transporter watch. "Ami, open a portal home. Here Kaede, you take Rei's watch, she won't need it anymore." Sailor Moon quietly said as she gently removed Mars's transport watch, then handed it to Europa.
"Yes princess." Europa replied as she took the watch and put it on her wrist.
"Will that portal lead to home Ami?" Sailor Moon quietly asked as she looked at a swirling portal in front of Mercury.
"Yes princess." Mercury quietly answered as she looked down at Mars.
"Kaede, take her home." Sailor Moon ordered as she looked at Europa.
"Yes princess." Europa quietly replied as she gently picked Mars up, then slowly walked towards the portal.
"When she's home I want you to lock onto our new coordinates and come back, understood?" Sailor Moon asked as she looked at Europa.
"I understand princess." Europa replied as she stepped through the portal and vanished.
"Come on Rei, let's lay you down. You can rest now." Europa quietly cried as she stepped into the base everyone had left from.
"One of the guardians are back!" A soldier shouted as she watched Europa walk towards her.
"Good, send her up for a debrief." Vance ordered as he looked at the soldier.
"Sir." The soldier quietly said as she watched Europa approach them.
"Oh my god." Vance quietly said as he rushed over to Europa. "Kaede! Kaede what happend out there, is she alright?" Vance asked as he ran up to Europa.
"She's gone. Please take care of her director." Europa quietly said as she gently laid Mars's body on the ground in front of Vance.
"But what about you, where are you going?" Vance asked with a sad expression as he looked back at Europa.
"To finish what we started." Europa quietly answered as she opened another portal, then walked through it.
"What do we do sir?" The soldier asked as she looked at Vance.
"Treat her as we would any other fallen soldier. Preserve her body and prepare a death notification for her family, the same as Ms. Aino." Vance quietly answered as he saluted Mars's body.
"Is she at peace now?" Sailor Moon quietly asked as Europa appeared next to her.
"Yes princess." Europa answered with a sad expression.
"You did good Kaede, I wish we could've saved her, but we all knew that this could happen. We can't let this stop us though, we need to pull it together and stop Aku before her kills anyone else." Sailor Moon said with a sad expression as she gently put her hand on Europa's shoulder.
"I know princess." Europa replied as she placed her hand over Sailor Moon's. "Where are we anyways?" Europa asked as she looked around.
"According to the multiverse devise, we're in a universe labeled SOW dot one dash twenty-three." Mercury answered as she looked around the area they were in. They were in what looked like some kind of small town, or what use to be a town anyways. Several buildings were reduced to ruble and there were fires and broken vehicles scattered around.
"Jeez, this places looks like a war zone." Jupiter quietly said as she took in her surroundings.
"Um, guys. I think I know why this place looks like a war zone." Europa said as she pointed at a smoldering tank with an all too familiar symbol engraved on it.
"Is that a panzer tank? This is a Nazi panzer tank. Holly crap, we didn't travel through space, we traveled through time." Jupiter gasped as she stared at the tank.
"That's not true Mako, this is a separate universe from our own, one that's time is about fifty years behind our own universe's." Mercury explained as she looked at her watch.
"If that's the case then the year here is late 1944 to early 1945. Right at the end of the Second World War." Sailor Moon said in a shocked tone as she stared at her friends.
"Hurry, we need to find cover, they're closing in on us." A voice echoed from down an adjacent street.
"We need to hide, and fast." Sailor Moon instructed as she looked for a place to hide.
"Guys, over here!" Jupiter quietly yelled as she waved everyone towards an abandoned and partially destroyed building. Everyone quickly ran into the building just as four people came running around the corner.
"Pick up the pace Mizuno!" A blonde woman yelled as she looked back at a woman with short blue hair.
"Yes ma'am." The woman replied as she followed the other woman.
"Ami?" Jupiter quietly asked as she watched the blue haired girl run after the blonde haired one.
"Let's go private, the krauts are closing in!" A raven haired woman shouted as she ran around the corner, then took a knee and aimed a gun in the direction she'd came from.
"Yes ma'am!" The person who was being yelled at replied as they rounded the corner.
"That woman looks just like Mako, and the the ones before that looked like Rei, Ami, and Minako. What the hell is going on here?" Sailor Moon whispered as she looked at Europa.
"This is the multiverse Usagi, it's entirely possible that we've entered an alternate reality where we're normal soldiers rather than magical Sailor Soldiers." Europa explained as she watched the four women run into an empty building.
"What do we do now?" Jupiter asked as she looked at Sailor Moon.
"Nothing, we can't help anyone here. We need to find Aku and stop him, we don't wanna stick around this universe for too long. Not with it being occupied by alternate versions of ourselves. There's no telling what could happen if our alternate versions of us met our universe's versions of us." Mercury explained as she watched more than a dozen German soldiers enter the store their alternate selves had run into.
"Uh, Ami. Can we do something about that?" Jupiter quietly asked as she looked behind Mercury at something.
"No Mako, we can't alter anything in this universe." Mercury answered as she continued to stare at the building their alternate selves had gone into.
"I'm not much of history buff or anything, but I'm pretty sure I would've remembered reading about that in my history book!" Sailor Moon shouted as she grabbed her ODM handles and started backing up.
"Reading about wha-what the hell is that?!" Mercury shouted as she stared at a grey creature with glowing yellows eyes that was dressed in a Nazi uniform.
"There's more of them!" Jupiter yelled as she spun around and stared at more than ten of the same creature, watching as they all started lumbering towards them.
"I feel like I've seen this in a movie before." Europa said as she looked at the creatures that were slowly surrounding them. Two shots were heard as Sailor Moon fired two rounds into one of the approaching creatures, hitting it square in the chest with each round, but the creature didn't even flinch.
"These things aren't just Nazis, they're Nazi zombies!" Mercury shouted as she looked at the ever growing group of undead Nazi soldiers that were surrounding them.
"Use your rigs to get to the roof, now!" Sailor Moon ordered as she fired her anchors into the closest roof, pulling herself to safety. The others quickly followed suit, and soon they were all safely out of the reach of the zombies.
"Aku's really done it this time, he's defied the laws of nature. He raised the dead." Mercury quietly said as she looked over the side of the building, seeing a horde of zombies staring back at her.
"That's not even the worst part, I think they're going to find an easier meal." Jupiter said as she pointed at the zombies. Everyone looked over the edge of the building, horrified to see that the zombies were now heading towards the building where their alternate selves were hiding.
"If the people in that building get killed it could alter the course of this reality's timeline, we have to do something!" Mercury yelled as she watched the zombies slowly walk towards the building.
"So what do we do? How do you kill something that's already dead?" Sailor Moon asked as she watched the zombies get closer to the door of the opposite building.
"In every zombie movie I've ever seen the only way to kill them is to destroy their heads." Europa informed as she stood at the edge of the roof. "Follow my lead." Europa ordered as she lowered herself to the ground and pointed her gun at the back of one of the zombie's heads. With a bang the first zombie's head exploded, and it dropped to the ground. "Stay dead you Nazi bastard." Europa said as she looked at the other zombies, all of whom had shifted their focus from the building onto her.
"Let's go, Kaede can't do it alone." Sailor Moon ordered as she lowered herself to the ground, followed by everyone else. Within seconds they all found themselves surrounded once again by the undead, only this time there were far more of them.
"How many do think there are?" Jupiter quietly said as she looked at the horde that was surrounding them.
"At least a hundred of them. We are so fucked sis." Europa quietly said as she watched the horde close in on them.
"Don't give up, where there's a will there's a way." Jack encouraged as he gripped his sword tightly.
"I have an idea, maybe if one of us can find Aku and drive him out of this universe, the zombies will return to their original forms as harmless corpses." Mercury suggested as she pointed her gun at a zombies head.
"It's up to you Jack, we'll distract the zombies while you find Aku." Sailor Moon ordered as she prepared to fight.
"Good luck, I'll find him as fast as I can." Jack replied as he leapt into the air and straight over the circle of zombies. A few of the zombies turned and looked at Jack before slowly starting after him.
"Don't let any of these undead freaks get to Jack, put 'em all down!" Sailor Moon shouted as she started shooting at the zombies.
"Come on you creepy corpses, come get a piece of me!" Europa shouted as she raised her arms up.
"That's it! Kaede quick, surround us with an electric igloo! Even the undead aren't gonna be able to stand up to that kind of power." Mercury instructed as she kicked a zombie backwards.
"Some of the zombies are too close though!" Europa replied as she hit a zombie wit the handle of her gun.
"We'll deal with them, better ten than a hundred." Mercury replied as she shot an icicle through a zombie's head, watching as it penetrated straight through and into another zombie's chest.
"Alright, get in close! Electric igloo!" Europa called out, quickly forming her electric igloo around everyone. The igloo protected them from the majority of the zombies, many of whom were turned to dust as they mindlessly slammed against the barrier. Others however, were inside of it with them.
"Looks like we've got around twenty of these things to deal with. Upside, that's a fifth of what we were dealing with before, downside, we have half the room to do it with." Sailor Moon said as she shot a zombie in the head, spraying brain matter over the walls of the igloo.
"Just keep fighting, we can do this!" Jupiter shouted as she punched a zombie in the jaw, knocking its bottom jaw clean off.
"AH! Son of a bitch!" Europa screamed as one of the zombie's jaws locked around her arm. Europa instinctively pulled her arm back as hard as she could, leaving a huge chunk of flesh in the zombie's mouth as she did.
"You alright Kaede?!" Mercury asked as she beat a zombie over the head with a block of ice.
"Not if every zombie movie I've ever seen is accurate!" Europa shouted as she clutched her arm, watching as blood oozed from her wound.
"What happened sis?" Jupiter asked as she grabbed a zombie by its face and bludgeoned it into oblivion against the barrier.
"I got bit, and it tore a big chunk of my arm off." Europa groaned as she fell to her knees. "Oh it hurts, and it feels like something's radiating up the length of my arm!" Europa yelled as she clutched her arm in pain.
"It'll be okay Kaede, just don't think about it." Sailor Moon said as she blasted a zombie's head off.
"That's gonna be really hard...to do! AAAH!" Europa shouted in pain as she fell on her back and started seizing.
"Sis!" Jupiter shouted in fear as she watched Europa seize.
"What's wrong with her Ami?!" Sailor Moon asked as she killed the last zombie in the dome.
"I don't know, it's not like they have the side effects of a zombie bite in our text books!" Mercury replied as she stared at Europa.
"S-someone, k-kill...mleeeeeh!" Europa tried to say, until her eyes started to glow and her skin turned a pale grey.
"Sis?" Jupiter quietly asked as she watched Europa stop seizing, then slowly sit up and stare at her. "Sis?" Jupiter asked in a shaky tone. Europa didn't say anything, she just awkwardly got to her feet, then charged at Jupiter.
"RAAR! GRAR!" Europa snapped as she tackled Jupiter to the ground and violently lunged her face towards Jupiter's.
"SIS! Please don't, don't make me do this!" Jupiter cried as she held Europa back with one hand and held her gun in her other.
"RAAR!" Europa continued as she tried to bite Jupiter's face.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Jupiter screamed with tears as she put her gun to Europa's head and fired three rounds from it. Europa dropped on top of Jupiter and ceased all movement. Jupiter could only lay there with Europa's body on top of her, she was in so much shock that she couldn't even cry.
"Mako." Sailor Moon quietly said as she looked at Jupiter. Jupiter only laid there, gasping for air as she stared at her only sister, unable to believe what had just happened, what she had just done. To Jupiter, everything was silent. She heard nothing but a ringing in her ears, she didn't hear her friends, nor the zombies knocking on the now failing barrier. All she heard was the ringing of the gunshot, the echo of the bullet she'd used to kill her sister.
"Mako! Mako snap out of it, we're about to die!" Mercury shouted as she shook Jupiter. The barrier shattered a few seconds later and the zombies began to move ever closer to everyone.
"Is this really how it ends? After everything we've been through, we're gonna be killed by a bunch of Nazi zombies?" Sailor Moon asked in a frightened tone as the horde of zombies got ever closer.
"Who gives a fuck anymore? We're only prolonging the inevitable by fighting." Jupiter quietly said as she cradled Europa's body in her arms. The zombies got within an arms reach of everyone, but just as the end seemed imminent they all stopped.
"What? I don't, I don't understand?" Sailor Moon quietly said as she looked at the zombies, which seemed to have frozen in time. Then after a few seconds, the zombies started to fall one by one, back into a state of true death.
"Jack did it, he either killed Aku or drove him away." Mercury quietly said as she knelt down and hugged Jupiter.
"It's not fair Ami. First Mina, then Rei, and now sis. How many more is he gonna take from us? I can't take any more." Jupiter sobbed as she clung to Europa's body.
"I know Mako, but we can't let Aku get away with this. If we stop now then this will all have been for nothing. We have to stop him, no matter what. I'm so sorry Mako, I know that's incentive, but it has to be done." Mercury quietly cried as she hugged Jupiter.
"The coward escaped, but the zombies are gone at least." Jack calmly said as he approached the group. "No, not again. I was too late, I... I'm so sorry." Jack quietly apologized as he knelt down by Europa.
"Jack, take her watch. I'll bring her home, the rest of you find Aku. I'll catch up." Sailor Moon quietly said as she gently removed Europa's transporter watch.
"NO! I can't leave her!" Jupiter shouted as she laid on top of Europa.
"Mako, we can't let Aku escape. Kaede would've wanted us to press forward, she would've wanted us to finish this." Sailor Moon quietly said as she put a hand on Europa's shoulder.
"How do you know that's what she would've wanted Usagi? How do you know?!" Jupiter demanded as she stared at Sailor Moon with tears in her eyes and trembling lips.
"Because it's what you would've wanted if that were you lying there. The only thing we can do for our friends is avenge them, and the only way to do that is to kill Aku. Do you understand Mako?" Sailor Moon asked with a sad expression.
"Yes princess." Jupiter nodded with a few tears.
"I'll take Kaede home, you three go and stop Aku. He can't be allowed to escape, remember what captain Levi always said. Your hearts, souls, and if necessary your lives to the cause. Our cause is stopping Aku and freeing the multiverse from his evil. A cause we can't afford to fail at." Sailor Moon said with a stern expression as she put a hand on her watch.
"I understand Usagi." Jupiter quietly said as she wiped her tears away.
"Kaede would be proud of you Mako." Sailor Moon quietly said as she hugged Jupiter. "Keep following Aku, I'll catch up." Sailor Moon ordered as she hit the return button on her watch, vanishing with Europa's body a second later.
"You did well Kaede, you've made me so proud." Sailor Moon cried as she appeared in the same place she'd left Mars's body. "You've earned your rest Kaede, thank you for everything. Please give my best to Rei and Mina." Sailor Moon cried as she slowly walked past a few soldiers, who all stood at attention and saluted them.
"Usagi, is everything..." McGee started to ask, until he saw that Sailor Moon was carrying a body. McGee immediately stopped talking and saluted them both.
"What are you doing McGee?" Sailor Moon asked as she slowly carried Europa's body over by Mars.
"What feels right Usagi." McGee answered as he continued to stand at attention and salute. Sailor Moon lightly nodded before carrying Europa over to Mars's body, then she gently laid her next to Mars.
"Goodbye Kaede, I'm so so proud of you. Of all three of you." Sailor Moon cried as she looked down at Mars and Europa one last time, then she activated her portal and stepped through it into what she thought would be another strange new world.
With a flash Sailor Moon arrived in another universe, but unlike the others, she knew this one all to well. "Oh no." Sailor Moon quietly said as she took in her surroundings, knowing exactly where she was, even with all of the destruction unfolding around her.
