Chapter Ten
Time To Go Back, Samurai Jack
Chibisua and the puffs frantically tracked Ami through the multiverse, chasing the wavelengths of the portals left behind by her transport watch through dozens of strange alternate realities. However, after nearly an hour of this wild goose chase, they had lost Ami's trail completely. "Where could she have gone? I don't understand how the watch can't find her, it's supposed to track us anywhere in the multiverse." Blossom said in an angry tone as she looked down at her watch.
"Mine says abundant wave crossings, tracking no longer possible. What the heck does that even mean?!" Buttercup shouted in frustration as she lightly slapped her watch.
"Maybe we should ask Mojo to help us." Bubbles quietly suggested as she looked at Blossom.
"Great idea Bubbles, let's go see Mojo!" Blossom replied as she activated her watch.
"I hope Ami mommy's okay." Buttercup quietly said as she floated through the portal.
"Me to Buttercup." Blossom said with a sad expression as she followed Buttercup and the others through the portal.
"Mojo!" Buttercup yelled as she dashed out of the portal.
"Punny puff?! What are you doing back here so soon?! Mojo was just finishing the dishes from earlier." Mojo asked as he dried a plate.
"We need your help Mojo, Ami mommy ran away! We tried to follow her, but the watch said something weird!" Blossom explained as she zipped over to Mojo and held the watch out to him.
"Hm, let Mojo see here." Mojo said as he took the watch and looked at the screen. "This is rather odd." Mojo said as he continued to study the watch.
"What is it Mojo?" Bubbles asked as she and Buttercup floated over to Mojo, followed closely by Chibisua.
"The watch can not track Ami's location in the multiverse because she's bounced it around too much in too short of a time span." Mojo informed as he set the watch down. "You see girls, the tracking feature works not by locking onto universal coordinates, but by locking onto the path left behind by other transport watches." Mojo explained with a straight face.
"What does that mean Mojo?" Blossom asked in a confused tone.
"Picture a basic two lane road. Now say you are following another car down this road, the car you are following only goes straight, it doesn't turn, stop, or go backwards at all. That makes it much easier to follow. Now picture that same scenario, except this time the car you are following might stop, turn around, go into different lanes, or even get on a super highway. That is to say a highway with many lanes and other paths. It would be much harder to track and follow a car on this type of course than it would be to follow it on a two lane road traveling in one of two directions. This is basically what the watch is experiencing, Ami has jumped so many universes, or changed lanes, so frequently in such a short amount of time that the watch has lost track of her location. But I don't understand why she would do this, the only logical explanation is that..." Mojo paused as pieces of the puzzle slowly began to fall into place for him. "Girls, what was the last thing that happened before Ami vanished like this?" Mojo asked in a serious and somewhat worried tone.
"We talked to a giant rat that tried to make mommy feel better, but she said that she didn't have any more strength. Then she disappeared." Bubbles answered with watery eyes.
"That is not good, especially in her current mental state. We need to locate her before it's too late." Mojo said as he walked over to his computer.
"But how, you said that the watches lost track of Ami's watch?" Chibiusa asked as she and the puffs followed Mojo.
"The watches did, but my main computer has more power and processing than the actual watches. I may be able to triangulate her current position with some additional calculations and better tracking technology that is built into my super computer." Mojo explained as he frantically typed on the keyboard of a computer with a theater sized screen. Several minutes passed as Mojo typed on his computer, but eventually the screen turned black, then a green grid appeared across the whole thing a second later. "Alright, it will take a few minutes for the system to compile and analyze the data. Hopefully it will be enough to triangulate her current location." Mojo informed as he watched the screen. Every few seconds a section of the grid would blink green a few times, then the grid would down size a few columns. This repeated ten times before only one square was blinking. "Got her, Ami's current location is... back in her own universe?" Mojo answered as he stared at the screen with a confused expression.
"Ami just went home and left us?" Chibisua asked as she stared at the screen.
"Why would Ami mommy leave us?" Bubbles cried as she stared at the blinking screen.
"Let's go ask her." Blossom said as she activated her portal. "Thanks Mojo." Blossom thanked as she flew into the portal, followed by Chibisua and her sisters.
"Good luck girls." Mojo said as he waved goodbye. "Oh Ami, what have you done." Mojo quietly said as he stared at the blinking square on his computer screen.
"Alright girls, let's go find Ami mommy." Blossom instructed as she exited the portal.
"Follow me, I've already got her signal." Buttercup instructed as she took off into the air.
"Come on Chibisua." Blossom said as she picked Chibiusa up, then sped after Buttercup, followed by Bubbles. After a few minutes the girls arrived in the vicinity of Ami's signal, and they weren't so much surprised by where they were, but what they saw when they got there. "What's going on here?" Blossom quietly asked as she and her sisters landed on the road.
"You four need to get back!" A police officer ordered as he ran over to the girls.
"What's going on?" Blossom asked as the officer lightly nudged her and her sisters towards the other side of the street.
"I can't tell you that, just stay back please." The officer ordered as he lightly nudged them behind some yellow police tape.
"Please, our mommy might be in there!" Buttercup shouted as she stared at the officer.
"Don't worry, we've got people in the building right now, they'll do everything they can to find your mommy for you. Do you know what apartment she lives in?" The officer asked as he knelt down by the girls.
"I don't remember the number, but it's on the fourth floor." Chibisua answered in a calm tone.
"That helps, we'll find your mommy. But for now I want you to wait with this nice firefighter, can you please do that for me?" The officer asked as he gestured to a nearby firefighter.
"Mhm." Blossom quietly replied with a light nod.
"Good girl." The officer replied as he lightly patted Blossom on the head. "Wait here, okay." The officer said as he walked over to the firefighter and talked to him.
"Hi girls." The firefighter said with a smile as he knelt down in front of them.
"Kazuto-San?" Chibisua asked as she looked at the man in front of her.
"Chibiusa? What are you all doing out here alone?" Kazuto asked in a surprised tone as he stared at the girls.
"We were traveling with Ami mommy to go visit our home and some other place we ended up, then she just left us in that world." Bubbles explained with a sad expression.
"Yeah, so we went to see Mojo to ask if he could track her for us since she jumped around so much that our watches couldn't lock-on to her." Blossom continued in a sad tone.
"Mojo said that she came back here, and when we came back we saw all of this. What's going on Kazuto?" Buttercup asked with some concern.
"Honestly girls, I'm not too sure. We were called in as support for the police, but they haven't divulged a lot of information yet." Kazuto replied as he sat down in the grass with the girls.
"Maybe you can ask Emiko or Tenjin-San what's going on." Chibisua suggested with a smile.
"Good idea Chibisua, I'll ask them." Kazuto replied as he grabbed his radio. "Tenjin, Emiko, do either of you know what's going on? Over." Kazuto asked into his radio.
"Negative, all we know is that someone reported what may have been gun fire. We're making ingress into the building now though, we'll let you know as soon as we can. Over and out." Tenjin replied through the radio.
"Got it, be safe you two. Over and out." Kazuto said as he hung up his radio.
"Gun shots?! Do we need to beat some bad guy up?" Buttercup asked as she stared at Kazuto.
"Not right now little lady, but we'll let you know if we need you." Kazuto chuckled as he looked at the building. While first responders held the line outside, Tenjin, Emiko, and several other law enforcement units were slowly sweeping the building for a possible shooter.
"This is alpha team, first floor secure. Holding position." A voice called over Emiko's radio.
"Bravo team reporting, second floor secure, holding position." A separate voice replied over the radio.
"Charlie team reporting in, just finished our sweep of the third floor, no hostiles." Another voice informed over the radio.
"Delta team's sweeping the fourth floor, standby for further traffic." Tenjin informed as he, Emiko, and a few other officers slowly moved through the floor, clearing each individual apartment one by one. "Last one on this floor, stack up." Tenjin ordered as he pressed himself against the wall on one side of the door.
"Sweep and clear." Emiko whispered as she and the others pressed themselves against the wall on the other side of the door.
"Move in." Tenjin whispered as he used the master key to unlock the door, then slowly turned the handle. Tenjin and everyone else slowly entered the apartment. "Main room clear, fan out." Tenjin whispered as he started moving forward, followed by everyone else. The officers dispersed throughout the apartment, slowly checking each room for a potential threat.
"Clear!" One of the officers yelled as she finished clearing a room.
"Clear!" Another officer called out as she cleared the kitchen area.
"I'm clear to, what about you Emiko?!" Tenjin yelled as he finished sweeping the room he was in. Emiko didn't answer. "Emiko, is your section clear?!" Tenjin asked as he started heading towards Emiko. Again there was no response. "Emiko!" Tenjin shouted as he and the other officers started to converge on Emiko's position. "Emiko, thank..." Tenjin started saying, until he stopped and let out a loud gasp. The other officers could only stare in horror at what they were seeing. "Call it in." Tenjin quietly said with a few tears.
"Dispatch, this is delta team, we've located the source of the gunshot. Send the coroner, we've got one D.O.A. Over." One of the officers spoke into his radio.
"Understood Bravo, I'm dispatching the local coroner to your location. Where are they needed? Over." The dispatcher asked in a clam tone.
"Sailor Mercury's apartment." Tenjin quietly answered, as he stared wide eyed and heartbroken at Ami's body.
"Why Tenjin, why would she do this?" Emiko cried as she stared down at Ami's gun.
"We knew she was in pain, but I never thought she'd... I'm sorry Ami-San, we failed you." Tenjin cried as he knelt down by Ami. Several minutes passed before two people walked into the apartment with a gurney and a body bag.
"Who are you two, you look American?" Tenjin asked with a sniffle as he looked up at the two men in front of him.
"British actually, at least I am. Allow me to introduce ourselves, my name is Doctor Donald Malard, and this is my assistant Mr. James Palmer. We're N.C.I.S agents, we received a call about a fatality in one of the guardian's apartments. So the local coroner allowed us to take over the situation." Ducky explained as he and Palmer brought the gurney in. "This is... unexpected." Ducky quietly said as his eyes started to water a bit.
"Who could've done this to her Doctor Malard, how could someone do something so evil?" Palmer quietly cried as he stared at Ami's body.
"I don't think she saw it as evil Mr. Palmer, I think she saw it as her only escape." Ducky quietly answered as he pointed at Ami's gun.
"Wait, you think... you think this was a suicide?" Palmer asked with a horrified expression.
"I'm afraid so Mr. Palmer, we all knew she was struggling with the loss of her friends and loved ones, but none of us thought she'd go this far to get away from her pain. We were all fools for assuming that though, we should've remembered rule three, and checked in on her after everything that had happened." Ducky replied with a few tears. "I'm sorry Ami, I'm sorry that we weren't there for you." Ducky quietly said as he put his hand on Ami's forehead.
"Oh those poor babies, I can't believe she would do this to them." Emiko quietly said as she hugged Tenjin.
"Someone has to tell the girls, and her parents." Tenjin quietly replied as he wrapped his arms around Emiko.
"I know someone who might do better with the girls." Palmer quietly said as he pulled his phone out and pushed a few buttons.
"Jimmy! Oh I'm so glad you called, I was just about to call you, I'm super low on cafe pow and they don't sell it in Japan! I'm desperate Jimmy, please, you've gotta ask Ducky if they have anything like it in this country! He's well traveled, I'm sure he knows where to go for these kinds of things!" Abby babbled into the phone the second she picked it up.
"Abby I need you to focus! Please." Palmer yelled before calming down.
"What's wrong Jimmy, you never yell at me, or anyone? What happened?" Abby quietly asked in a surprised tone.
"Abbs, I'm sorry. But Ami's... Ami's dead Abs, she's dead." Palmer quietly informed with a few tears.
"D-dead? Sailor Mercury's dead? How, and when?! What happened, where are her girls, does her mom know?!" Abby frantically asked in a scared and sad tone.
"Her girls are safe, they're outside with the police, but her parents haven't been notified yet." Palmer answered as he started to cry even more.
"How did she die Jimmy, what happened?" Abby quietly asked as she began to cry.
"I don't wanna say." Palmer quietly replied with a sniffle.
"She was my friend, I wanna know what happened! Please Palmer, tell me what happened to Ami!" Abby begged through her tears.
"Abbs, she shot herself. I'm so sorry Abby, she took her own life." Palmer cried into the phone. There was silence on the other end for a few seconds as the news sank in, but when it did, Abby broke down. She was so distraught by the news that Vance heard her from his office, two floors above her. A few seconds later the phone cut out, leaving Palmer wondering about Abby.
"Mr. Palmer, we need to do our job." Ducky quietly said as he laid down a body bag. Palmer lightly nodded as he stood down by Ami's feet. "Come on Ami, let's get you tucked in." Ducky quietly said as he and Palmer carefully lifted Ami's body into the bag, then zipped it closed. Ducky and Palmer put Ami on the gurney, then they brought her onto the elevator so they could take her to the van.
"Who's gonna tell them Dr. Mallard? Who's gonna be the one to break those girls again?" Palmer quietly asked as he watched the doors close.
"I don't know Mr. Palmer, but I wouldn't expect it to be you, nor would I want it to be." Ducky answered as the elevator came to a stop and the doors opened. "Come Ms. Mercury, it is time to see your friends again." Ducky said as he and Palmer wheeled Ami out of the building.
"Hey, we got here as fast as we could. What's going on?" Tony asked as he, McGee, and Ziva watched Ducky and Palmer wheel the gurney out of the building.
"Ami's pain was too much, she... ended it on her terms." Ducky answered with a sad expression.
"Wait a second Ducky, are you saying that Ami killed herself?" McGee asked as he stared at Ducky with a horrified expression.
"I'm afraid so McGee, I'm afraid so." Ducky quietly replied as he and Palmer wheeled Ami to their van.
"How could she do that, after everything that's happened, she just gave up?" McGee quietly asked as he watched Ducky and Palmer get Ami in the van.
"She was in more pain than we realized McGee, we should've checked on her more. After the funeral though I don't think any of us called her even once." Ziva quietly said as she wiped some tears away.
"How are we gonna tell her children?" McGee asked as he started to cry.
"I'll do it, you two stay here." Tony said with a sniffle as he slowly walked towards Kazuto.
"Can I help you sir?" Kazuto asked as he looked at Tony.
"N.C.I.S, I need to talk to Ami's children please." Tony informed as he held up his badge.
"Of course sir." Kazuto replied as he looked down at the girls.
"Hi Mr. Donut." Bubbles said as she lightly waved at Tony.
"Hi Bubbles." Tony said with a smile as he knelt down by Bubbles.
"What's going on Mr. DiNozzo, where's Ami mommy?" Blossom asked in a slightly worried and confused tone.
"Girls, I know that you've heard this more times than any child or even adult ever should, but I'm sorry to have to say this. You mommy's... Ami died girls, I'm so sorry." Tony quietly said as he stared at Blossom. There was silence for a few seconds as everyone processed what the'd just heard, then in a fit of pain and sorrow, Bubbles let out a sonic scream that was so loud it shattered the windows of the cars and apartment building.
"My mommy's not dead! She's not! She's not! She's not!" Bubbles frantically cried. No one knew how to respond, most of them were still shocked that a child could've screamed so loudly, but others were just heartbroken by what they were hearing.
"I'm so sorry Bubbles, I'm sorry to all of you." Tony quietly said as he tried to hug Bubbles.
"It's not fair! I want my mommies and daddy!" Bubbles shouted through her tears.
"Me to!" Blossom yelled as she started balling.
"I want them back to!" Buttercup shouted as she sat down on the ground and cried. "We want our mommies!" All three puffs yelled through their tears. Tony didn't know how to respond, no one did. It was horrible to see such young children crying for their parents, knowing they would never come.
"Why are the puffs crying Kazuto-San?" Chibiusa asked as she looked in the direction of the puffs.
"Chibiusa, there's no easy way to tell you what's going, but I'll try and be gentle about it. Ami is, Ami passed away. She's dead Chibiusa, I'm sorry." Kazuto quietly said as he knelt down by Chibiusa.
"But... but she can't be, we were with her less than a half hour ago. That can't be true." Chibiusa quietly said as she stared at Kazuto with a horrified expression.
"I'm sorry Chibiusa, Ami's gone." Kazuto quietly said as he held his arms out to her.
"Why?! What happened to Ami?!" Chibiusa cried as she threw herself into Kazuto's arms.
"I don't know Chibiusa, I don't know." Kazuto quietly lied as he hugged Chibiusa tighter.
"So, so they're all dead now? Everyone I cared about is gone? Why did this happen?! Is it something I did?!" Chibiusa shouted as she clung to Kazuto.
"No, don't ever think like that Chibisua, you didn't do anything to cause this. It's just a horrible tragedy, it has nothing to do with you or the puffs. I'm so sorry Chibiusa." Kazuto quietly explained as he continued to comfort Chibisua.
"I want my Ikuko mama." Chibisua said with a sniffle.
"I'll bring you home Chibiusa." Kazuto whispered as he picked Chibiusa up.
"What about the puffs?" Chibisua asked with a few tears as she looked at the puffs.
"I think the N.C.I.S people are gonna take care of them." Kazuto answered as he carried Chibiusa over to his ambulance. Kazuto carefully buckled Chibiusa in, then climbed in the driver's seat and started driving away. 'Oh those poor little girls.' Kazuto thought to himself as he slowly drove past the puffs.
"Come on girls, let's get you to the hospital. Your grandma will be there, and we'll call your grandpa to let him know to come as well." Tony quietly said as he gently picked all three puffs up.
"I want my Ami mommy." Buttercup said with a sniffle as Tony set all three puffs in his car.
"I'll sit with the girls." Ziva informed as she got in the back with the puffs, while Tony got in the driver's seat and McGee got in the passenger seat.
"Make sure they're strapped in Ziva." Tony instructed as he put his seatbelt on.
"They're good Tony, let's go." Ziva replied as she strapped Buttercup in. With a light nod Tony slowly pulled out of the driveway and started heading towards the hospital. The ride was silent with the exception of a few sniffles and some light crying, and after a few minutes the car came to a stop in front of the hospital's main doors.
"I'll park the car, you two take the girls in and have the hospital page for Dr. Mizuno." Tony quietly said as he looked back at Ziva.
"Alright. Come on girls." Ziva replied as she opened the door and got out, followed by the puffs and McGee. Ziva lead the puffs through the front door and up to the main desk.
"Good evening, how can I help you all today?" A man behind a desk asked as Ziva walked towards him.
"We need to speak to Dr. Mizuno please, it's rather urgent." Ziva informed as she held up her badge.
"Sure thing ma'am, just give me one second." The man replied as he typed on his computer, then picked up the phone. "Hi, this Yasuke from the front desk, I'm calling to ask if Dr. Mizuno is available?" The man informed into the phone. "There's a police officer asking for her." The man said as he looked up at Ziva. "Alright, I'll send them up. Thanks." The man said as he hung up the phone. "Go to the twenty-second floor and show them your credentials. They'll page Dr. Mizuno once you get up there." The man informed as he pointed towards an elevator.
"Thank you." Ziva thanked as she lead everyone towards the elevator.
"Why did this happen again? Why did mommy die?!" Blossom cried as she looked up at Ziva.
"I don't know sweetie, but I know that no matter what, she loved you all very much." Ziva quietly replied as she hugged Blossom.
"Was Dr. Mizuno available?" Tony asked as he jogged past the front desk and over to Ziva.
"They're paging her now, she's on the twenty-second floor." Ziva answered as she continued to hug Blossom.
"Alright then, let's go Ziva." Tony said as the elevator doors opened and everyone got on it. Tony gently pressed the button to the twenty-second floor and watched as the door's slowly closed. "I'll talk to Dr. Mizuno, you keep an eye on the girls." Tony said as he watched the floor number rise.
"Alright." Ziva replied as the elevator came to a stop. Everyone slowly stepped off the elevator and approached the front desk.
"Agent's Ziva and Tony, the front desk called about us." Tony said as he showed his badge to the receptionist.
"Yes sir, Dr. Mizuno is on her way now." The receptionist informed with a smile.
"Thank you." Tony thanked as he looked towards a set of double doors and waited for Saeko.
"Whatever this is better be quick, I've got three patients waiting to be seen." Saeko said as she burst out the doors, not even noticing Tony and the girls.
"Dr. Mizuno." Tony said as he looked at Saeko.
"Oh, Mr. uh... DiNozzo right? What's going on, are you in need of treatment?" Saeko asked as she stared at Tony.
"I'm afraid I'm here as an N.C.I.S agent Ms. Mizuno, not as a patient." Tony replied in a sad tone.
"Oh god. What happened now? Are my babies okay?" Saeko asked in a worried tone.
"Grammy." Bubbles quietly said as she floated over to Saeko.
"Girls, what's going on? Why are you here, where's Ami?" Saeko asked as she held her arms out to Bubbles.
"Ami mommy died!" Bubbles shouted as she burst into tears.
"DIED?! What do you mean Ami died?! What is she talking about?!" Saeko shouted as she stared at Tony and Ziva.
"Dr. Mizuno, I'm sorry to have to say this, but Ami was found dead in your apartment about thirty minutes ago. I'm so sorry ma'am." Tony explained as he stared at Saeko.
"Wh-what happened?" Saeko asked through her tears as she stumbled backwards a bit.
"I'm sorry to say that you're daughter was killed by what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wound to her head." Tony calmly answered as Ziva helped Saeko sit down.
"Self inflicted... She killed herself?! That, that can't be true. She wouldn't've abandoned the girls like this, she couldn't've done this." Saeko said as she stared at Tony with a horrified expression.
"I'm sorry Ms. Mizuno, but there's no other possibility. There were no signs of forced entry, no signs of a struggle, and the gun was in her hand when they found her. It was her own ODM gun, I'm so sorry." Tony quietly explained as he stared back at Saeko.
"Ami." Saeko cried as she hugged the puffs as tight as she could. Saeko and the puffs sat in one spot for hours, even after Ami's body had been transported to the hospital's morgue. Saeko just couldn't bring herself to go and see her daughter.
"Is there anything we can get you Ms. Mizuno?" Tony asked as for the fifth time as he looked at Saeko.
"No." Saeko quietly replied as she stared down at the puffs in her lap.
"Are you ready to go see Ami?" Ziva asked with a sad expression.
"No, I can't bare to see her like that. I've seen my fare share of suicide victims in my years, and though few were gunshot victims, the one's that were always haunted me." Saeko quietly replied as she gently rubbed Blossom's back.
"Is there anyone you'd like us to call for you Ms. Mizuno?" Tony asked in a calm tone.
"Yeah, I wanna speak to Pluto." Saeko answered in a tone barely above a whisper.
"I'll go get her ma'am." Ziva replied as she stood up and started walking towards the elevator.
"That won't be necessary." Setsuna said as she and the outer guardians stepped off the elevator.
"Please, please tell me you had no idea." Saeko cried as she looked up at Setsuna.
"None at all Mizuno-San, I'm so sorry that I didn't see this coming. We should've been watching for this after what she went through, but none of us even considered she'd do something like this. We're so sorry this happened." Setsuna said as she knelt down by Saeko.
"It's not all your fault, I'm her mother and I didn't suspect anything. I let my baby down." Saeko quietly cried.
"We all did Mizuno-San, none of us ever checked on her or visited her after what happened. We should've been more attentive to her during such a hard time." Michiru quietly said with a few tears.
"I can't believe that after everything that happened, Ami's life ended like this. I feel so guilty that we weren't there for her." Haruka cried as she sat down in a chair.
"I wish there was something we could've done, I'm so sorry that we weren't there for her Mizuno-San. I'm so sorry." Setsuna quietly said through her tears.
"Maybe there still is." Hotaru suddenly said as she looked at Setsuna.
"What do you mean Hotaru?" Setsuna asked in a curious tone.
"Remember that Aku came from the past, but he didn't come alone. The samurai, what happed to the samurai? The last time I saw him was at the funeral, but he hasn't been seen since." Hotaru informed with a thoughtful expression.
"What's your point?" Saeko asked with a sniffle.
"If we can find the samurai, then maybe Setsuna mama can send him back to his proper time. Technically it wouldn't be breaking any rules, in fact it would be correcting a wrongful passage through time." Hotaru explained with a straight face.
"If that's true then, it wouldn't only bring Ami back but..." Michiru started to say, until Saeko finished her thought for her.
"It would bring everyone else back as well, it would've been like Aku never even existed. Everyone would come back, Mako, Usagi, the professor, all of them would be alive again. Like hitting the world's rewind button." Saeko said with a huge expression of sudden realization. "We need to find Jack." Saeko said as she stood up and stared at everyone with a determined expression.
"We should tell Tenjin and Emiko to put a BOLO out for him." Hotaru said with a grin as she looked at Haruka.
"A what?" Everyone asked as they all looked at Hotaru.
"A BOLO, be on the look out. I got addicted to police shows after everyone came back from Texas and told me about the NCIS people." Hotaru said with a giggle.
"You're so cute Hotaru." Haruka chuckled as she patted Hotaru's head.
"Well he shouldn't be hard to spot in the modern day, we're talking about a man in wooden sandals, a white robe, and a straw hat that walks around with a sword. How hard could it be to find him?" Saeko asked with a grin.
"By that description, not at all! We'll find him grammy Mizuno!" Blossom yelled as she and her sister jumped up from their chairs.
"Go get him girls, and be safe." Saeko said with a smile as she hugged the puffs.
"We will grammy." Bubbles said as she and her sisters hugged Saeko back. After a moment the puffs let go of Saeko, then dashed out of the hospital in three bright streaks. The puffs took to the sky and used their super vision and x-ray vision to search the city as fast as they could, but after almost thirty minutes, the puffs were starting to get impatient.
"Alright, that's it! I'm doing this my way!" Buttercup yelled as she took in the deepest breath she could.
"What are you doing Buttercup?" Bubbles asked as she watched her sister fill her lungs with air.
"You'd better not Buttercup, you'll deafen half the city!"Blossom scolded as Buttercup stopped sucking in air.
"SAMURAI JAAAACK! WHERE ARE YOUUUUUU?!" Buttercup screamed with such force that she set off car alarms on the other side of Japan.
"Jeez Buttercup, even if he is here he's no good now! He's probably deaf!" Blossom scolded as she glared at Buttercup.
"I'm sure it'll take more than that to deafen him." Buttercup said with a grin.
"Well even if he did hear us, how will he know where we are?" Blossom asked as she stared at Buttercup.
"Good point. Hold on." Buttercup replied as she took in another breath. "HEY SAMURAI, MEET US AT USAGI'S GRAVE!" Buttercup screamed out over the city. "There, now he knows where to go." Buttercup said as she dusted her hands together.
"Well, I guess it's easier having him come to us than it is for us to try and find him in the city somewhere." Blossom replied as she started heading towards the cemetery, followed by her sisters.
"I suppose we should go to." Setsuna said with smile as she looked at the other outers.
"Would you care to join us Mizuno-San?" Michiru asked as she looked over at Saeko.
"Hell yeah, let's go find Jack and undo this nightmare." Saeko replied as she stood up.
"Let's go." Haruka said with a grin as she started leading everyone out of the hospital. While Saeko and the outers headed to the car, the puffs were just landing at the cemetery.
"Do you see him anywhere?" Buttercup asked as she looked around a little bit.
"Not yet, but it might take him a little longer than it takes us, we can fly after all, unlike Jack." Blossom answered as she landed next to Mako's grave, followed by her sisters.
"Don't worry Mako mommy, the samurai's gonna bring you back." Bubbles quietly said as she hugged Mako's grave.
"Bubbles, there's something you and Buttercup should know." Blossom quietly said in a sad tone.
"What is it Bloss?" Buttercup asked as she stared at Blossom.
"If this works and undoes everything that Aku's ever done, then that means Reaper never would've existed." Blossom said with a sad expression.
"So, isn't that a good thing? Then he never would've hurt all the people he did, including our mommies and aunties." Buttercup asked with shrug.
"That's just it Buttercup, the only reason we ever met Ami and the others was because Mojo brought her into our world in order to get rid of Reaper. But if Jack kills Aku in the past, it would mean that Reaper never would've existed; in other words, Mojo would have no need to bring Ami into our world. We'll never meet her." Blossom quietly explained with a few tears.
"Are you sure?" Buttercup asked in a sad and shocked tone.
"Mhm." Blossom quietly replied with a sniffle.
"It's okay, it's what our daddy would've wanted us to do, be heroes that do the right thing." Bubbles quietly said with a small smile and a few tears as she looked at her sisters.
"She's right Bloss, we might never meet Ami mommy and the others, but they'll all be alive and safe. That's all that matters, that's what heroes do, they save people." Buttercup added as she started to cry.
"You're right, we have to do this, even if we never see Ami mommy and the others ever again. It's the right thing to do." Blossom replied through her tears as she hugged her sisters.
"Don't loose hope girls, the future is not written in stone." Setsuna said with a smile as she and the outers walked up to the puffs.
"Setsuna, how'd you get here so fast?" Blossom asked with a sniffle as she looked behind her at Setsuna.
"Haruka drives like a maniac when the situation calls for it, she could out run a fighter jet the way she drives." Setsuana chuckled as she knelt down by Blossom.
"So now we're only missing one person, the one who's gonna make this all possible." Haruka quietly said as she stared off into the distance.
"Do you think he'll come mama?" Hotaru asked as she looked up at Michiru.
"Of course he will sweetie, he's the kind of man who always does the right thing." Michiru answered as she gently patted Hotaru's head.
"I try to at least." Jack quietly said as he walked up behind everyone. "Good afternoon." Jack politely greeted as he took his straw hat off.
"I'm glad you came Jack, there's something important I need to talk to you about." Setsuna said as she pulled out her wand. "Pluto planet power, make up." Setsuna quietly said as she held her wand up, a few seconds later Sailor Pluto stood before Jack and the others.
"What is it ma'am?" Jack asked with a straight face.
"My name is Sailor Pluto, I'm the guardian of space time in this universe; and because of that I have both the ability and duty to correct imbalances in space and time. To put it bluntly, I'm sending you back to your own time. By returning to your home time and defeating Aku in the past, we hope that it'll undo all the evil things he did in our current time, therefore bringing of all his and Reapers victims back from the dead. It'll be like none of this ever happened." Pluto explained with a small smile. Jack was silent for a moment as he processed this information, but then a small smirk grew on his face.
"Let's do this." Jack said with a grin.
"Very well Jack, we wish you the best of luck. Go get that bastard." Pluto replied with a grin of her own as she held her garnet rod up. "Oh Kronos, mighty god of mine, open wide the gates of space and time; send Jack back from which he came, and help us repair the space time frame!" Pluto shouted as she thrusted her garnet rod towards the sky. Seconds later the sky darkened and the clouds began to swirl. "Good luck Samurai, the fate of the multiverse now rests solely in your hands." Pluto said with a smile as she looked at Jack.
"I accept this responsibility and vow to not fail again." Jack replied as he looked up at the sky, just in time to see a swirling black and white tornado descend upon him. "Goodbye my new friends, I'll always remember you. Some how." Jack said with a smile just before he was engulfed by the tornado. A few seconds later the tornado vanished, and so to did Jack.
"You can do it, Samurai Jack." Pluto said with a smile as she stared at the spot Jack had been standing just seconds earlier.
Feudal Japan, Aku's castle:
"Do not worry samurai, for we shall meet again, in the future. Only this time, it shall be me who is victorious." Aku spoke to himself as he stood in an empty hot rod colored area. A moment later there was a flash of white light, then a swirling black and white portal opened and Jack landed in front of Aku. "You're back already?!" Aku shouted in surprise as he stared at Jack.
"Die demon, your reign of tyranny ends now!" Jack shouted as he charged at Aku with sword in hand.
"Hold on, I'm not ready!" Aku yelled as Jack slashed him with his sword.
"I don't care!" Jack replied as he began slicing Aku to pieces. "This is for Usagi, this one's for Minako, this is for Rei, this is for Mako, this is for Kaede, and this is for Ami!" Jack shouted as he sliced and diced Aku to pieces.
"AAAAH!" Aku screamed in horror as he was cut down piece by piece until he was little more than a head.
"This is for all of the other innocent people you tortured and killed, in the name of the moon, I punish you!" Jack shouted as he drove his sword down through Aku's head. The blade pierced Aku, then quickly absorbed him into it. "My heart and soul to the cause!" Jack screamed as he drove the blade deep into the ground, banishing Aku into the depths of the underworld. "It is over, I pray that this changed the dark future I came from." Jack quietly said as he looked towards the ceiling. "Please come back Sailor Guardians, please be alive." Jack quietly said as he continued to stare at the ceiling.
