Chapter 5
A/N: … I am so sorry. This was so.. late. I'm sorry to the reviewer who wanted this up last Christmas. I'm just a lazy shit with too many plot bunnies to bat away. This is a page longer than my other chapters, though. Please don't kill me. I actually just cleared up all the shit that's been preventing me from writing. No promises, but I honestly will try to update more often, I just got my inspiration back too. I might have to rewatch some episodes of BF5 too. I wasn't sure how to write Tezz's accent so just read it in his voice or something.
Disclaimer: I don't own BF5 but I own this plot.
Zoom's POV
I yawned as I woke up. I warily looked around me and remembered what had transpired last night. I sighed. So much has happened…
I looked around and found a pile of random toiletries stacked neatly on the desk located across my room beside the dresser. I noted how everything is either red or black. They really do need to spread their colour schemes… I thought to myself as I got out of bed. I flinched at the cold that met my feet and headed towards the desk. I picked up a note.
Zoom,
I found some toiletries. Go use them. If there is anything else you need then tell me. I will try to get it for you.
Krytus.
I put the paper down and took a cup, a toothbrush, and a tube of toothpaste. As I headed towards the washroom I passed by Kyburi.
"Good Morning Kyburi." I said.
"Morning Zoom. Did you have a good night sleep last night?" Kyburi said worriedly.
"Yeah… One of the best actually." Wait… What? She sounded worried?
I stared wide eyed at her.
"That's good. Carry on then. Breakfast is waiting for you on the dining table." Kyburi said, walking away.
I stood there for a while and then shook my head and started to move again.
After brushing my teeth I headed towards the dining table and waved at Kytren and Krylox as I sat down.
"Morning." Krytus greeted me.
"Morning." I muttered. "Is there coffee?"
"No." Krytus said curtly.
"Aw. Okay." I said as I ate the scrambled eggs and granola bars. "I didn't know they had those here." I said as I held up a bar.
"Old sark technology. We can make food for humans." Krytus said bluntly.
"mm" I answered. "What are we doing today?"
"Planning strategy against the humans. You can explore." Krytus answered.
"Yay~" I cheered.
Krytus rolled his eyes and continued to eat.
I finished up and left the table.
I walked into the hall and chose to turn right. I peaked in through the first unlocked door I came across. It was a storage room filled with boxes. I slipped in and started to peer through some of the boxes and crates. Some were empty, some held old rusted looking mechanical parts, and others had old artifacts in them. Bored, I walked out of the room and started to walk and look through doors. All of the room in this hallway seemed to be used for storage. At the end of this hallway was a huge door with bars on them. I peered through the door and saw prison cells with blue sentients in hibernation. I shook my head. I couldn't bring myself to care after how Sage acts around me. I wandered back to the dining room and found an ornamented door. I looked in to see a humongous library. I can see some books were in English but some were in some old sentient text. I had to get one of the sentients to teach me to read them.
Deciding to come back to the library later, I walked towards the next room, which happened to be the living room and I could hear voices arguing.
"NO! Kyrosis should stay on the mountain. That way he could send down flaming wheels from above where they can't reach us." Kyburi proposed.
"But I want to confront them too" Kyrosis argued.
As they were squabbling, I sneaked in and looked at the map they had out. I thought for a bit.
"I think that you should do something spontaneous." I said bluntly, as the squabbling quieted down.
Krytus looked up. "How will that work? Without order, we won't make an efficient team."
I shook my head. "Vert is clever and knows what to do after he realizes what is going on. If he doesn't know what's going on or what to expect, he would be easy to be led to a trap. If Tezz is with them, he would be able to calculate what is going on. If you guys have a pattern or any order, he would be able to work out your next move. Same with Sherman. Stanford doesn't think before he attacks. He's impatient which is why he and Vert are always at odds, you can take advantage of that. AJ has a lot of common sense but his vehicle is really big, which doesn't give the vehicle a lot of agility. You can easily lose him in a maze. Agura would be harder but she is passive. Her hunter skills are almost on par as Kalus'. Only way to distract her is with Kyburi."
Krytus nodded. "Thanks you, human. I would be able to use this."
"Oh, and another thing. Tezz doesn't approve of what the team did to me but is completely obedient to Vert. He detests the others. He helped me as much as Vert has. Vert is also wary of his team now. Not as much trust especially since they started to pick on me. If you feed that doubt, you may be able to sway him. Tezz will follow. By the way did you know, the human forced into slavery is his father?" I raised my brow questionally.
Krytus snapped out of thought. "Is that so?"
I nodded, "It would help if you release his father."
"I'll think on it. Anyways, it's time for lunch."
Vert's POV
I sighed as I walked towards the hospital wing. It seemed that Tezz is the only sane one in this group of nitwits.
"Hey," I said as I entered the room that Tezz was confined in.
"Hey." Tezz replied quietly.
I went to sit on his bed, "How are you doing?"
"Fine, I heard Zoom is gone? Back to Thailand?" Tezz questioned.
"Sherman was here wasn't he." I stated.
Tezz nodded, "He wanted me to check some of his calculations. Idiot forgot some factors…. I don't believe him for a second. Zoom destroyed all of the trackers Sage put on him."
I nodded solemnly, "Yeah, I know. I checked too."
"Did you know Sage monitors all of the rooms in the hub? I disabled all of her devices in this room so it's safe to talk. But she obviously know-"
"-that the team is hurting Zoom and supports it." I growled. "The question is why?"
Tezz nodded. "I don't know, but I think you know who holds the answer."
"Krytus." I whispered.
Tezz ignored me and quickly typed commands into his computer, his eyes widened.
"I know where Zoom is. I secretly placed my own tracker on him in case he ever got fed up with the team and leave."
"Where is he?" I said desperately.
"Red sentient home world." Tezz's voice quivered.
I was rendered into silence. Krytus has him?
Tezz typed some more commands in.
"However…"
I looked up.
"It seems, he is not being held prisoner. He is currently inside their stronghold but comfortable."
I let out a breath of relief.
"Well, he is being treated a lot better than he is here. I think we should leave him there for his sake. We should not let Sage and the others know at all costs." I said determined.
Tezz nodded and we stayed in silence.
