Introduction Arc

Team Placement

One morning on the Academy...

"He's late!" Naruto groaned.

He was on his class with Sakura, Sasuke, Ethan, Daisy and Tina. There was no one else but them. Naruto was waiting to his team's sensei as he looked around the hall from the door, half open.

"Naruto, sit down!" Sakura snapped at him.

"Yeah, don't waste time." Tina added.

"I don't want to!" Naruto protested. "The teacher of our 7th group is late, even the 11th group doesn't have a teacher yet neither! The other groups are in adventures or something and Iruka-sensei already went home!"

"Oh, brother." Sakura sighed. Then, she saw Naruto doing something. "Hey, what are you doing?"

Sasuke, Daisy, Ethan and Tina watched too. Naruto smirked over a chair, putting a board duster between the door and the end of it.

"Naruto!" Sakura snapped at him.

"That what he gets for being late!" Naruto smiled as he jumped off the chair. "Surprise!"

"You asking for trouble, you know you shouldn't do that." Ethan glared too, crossing his arms as Sakura nodded in agree.

But, Sakura's inner self smirked excited, 'Sure, I like these crazy tricks!'

"A high-class ninja like him won't ever fall on a trap like that." Sasuke scoffed.

"Yeah, Sasuke is right! You're so clueless, Naruto!" Tina agreed.

Suddenly, the kids got their attention on someone about to enter on the classroom: Kakashi. The board duster fell on his hair, covering it with dust. Naruto laughed at this.

"Got it! I told you that it would work!" he exclaimed.

"YEAH! JUST TO BE GROUNDED!" Ethan and Daisy roared at him with angry marks on their heads.

"I'm sorry, Sensei, I tried to stop Naruto but he didn't listen to me!" Sakura begged at the masked sensei in concern. "I'd never do that!"

'Yeah!' Inner Sakura snapped in agree.

Sasuke stared at Kakashi and scoffed.

"Is this a joke? Is he really a Jounin?"

Kakashi grabbed the board duster on the ground and examinated it.

"Hmm... How can I say this?" he though. "My first impression on this group, except Team 11, since they don't have a sensei yet..."

The kids were quiet until...

"Here's a bunch of idiots." Kakashi finished.

Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura rolled their eyes as Ethan, Daisy and Tina sweatdropped.

Later, that day on a roof, Kakashi was with Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke. He told before to Daisy, Ethan and Tina to go home until a sensei for them is found.

"Well then... why don't you introduce yourselves?" Kakashi asked at his students.

"Introduce ourselves?" Sakura asked confused, "What are we supposed to say?"

"Things you like, things you hate, your dreams, your hobbies." Kakashi explained as he crossed his arms. "Things like that."

"Then why don't you introduce yourself first, Sensei?" Naruto asked at him.

"Me?" Kakashi asked. "I'm Hatake Kakashi." he introduced himself. "I won't tell you the things that I like and hate."

Naruto and Sakura, hearing this stared in shock.

"Neither my dreams... and my few hobbies." Kakashi finished.

"I can't believe we only found out his name." Sakura whispered at Naruto who nodded in agreement.

"Okay, you're going now." Kakashi said to them. "You first." he said to Naruto.

"Believe it! I'm Naruto Uzumaki. I like ramen, but I like the one at Ichiraku that Ethan and I tested with Irula-sensei. I hate to wait three minutes after putting the hot water. My hobby is to eat and compare cup ramens with my friend Ethan! And my dream is becoming the great Hokage! My existence will be recognized by all the villagers!"

'Hmm... He's grown up on an interesting way. Not to mention he has a friend.' Kakashi thought. "Okay, next." he said.

"I'm Sakura Haruno!" Sakura introduced herself, with a little blush. "What I like... uh... I mean, the person I like is..." she turned to Sasuke. "Uh... My hobby is..." she was getting distracted as she stared. "My dream for the future is...!" she giggled as she thought in Sasuke.

"And... what do you hate?" Kakashi asked not surprised.

"Naruto!" Sakura snapped.

Hearing this Naruto bursted on tears literally.

'Girls at her age must be more focused in love than ninja training.' Kakashi thought. "Last one."

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha." Sasuke introduced himself, not looking up. "I hate too many things, and there is no one that I like."

Sakura, hearing this, stared confused.

"I also have an ambition that I have no intention to leave as just a dream. The revival of my clan... and the death of someone. The only person that I like is..." Sasuke kept talking as Sakura gasped in joy, thinking what he could say. "Daisy Saturobi. She's the one who understands me and stays with me." he said on a humble and calmed tone.

Sakura yelled in disbelief after hearing Daisy's name as Kakashi thought about everything Sasuke said.

Meanwhile...

Ethan, Daisy and Tina were making their way to home.

"Man, I suppose we will stay on home until a sensei shows up." Tina sighed.

"Yeah, all teachers were taking. Even Espio!" Ethan chuckled. "Did you girls see Alvaro's face when Espio took the role as his team's sensei?" he laughed. "He was jawdropped!"

"Ethan, that's not right!" Daisy snapped.

"Sorry." Ethan sweatdropped.

"Nah, it was funny!" Tina giggled in Ethan's agree.

As they talked, a figure was watching them from a roof. This figure was a woman, with short black hair and a red bandana on her forehead, wearing a black outfit. Her name is Karai.

"Tina, how can you say that?" Daisy glared crossing her arms.

"Hey, cut it out." Ethan chuckled.

"What are you doing here?" a female voice called at them.

"Huh?" the kids turned confused and saw Karai in front of them.

"You're supposed to be in class, are you?" Karai asked.

"Well... yeah, but..." Tina gulped.

"Kakashi-Sensei told us to go home, since no teacher took us today." Daisy explained.

"Kakashi?" Kairi asked.

"Yeah, he's now Sensei of Team 7." Ethan added. "Students: Naruto Uzumaki, a friend of mine; Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha, a Daisy's friend."

'Uchiha? The Uchiha clan?' Karai thought on her mind. 'That was the clan my father wanted to destroy... sometime ago.'

She went back to her senses and asked, "Where can I find Kakashi? I suppose I can teach you."

Back to Kakashi, Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke...

"Okay, let's begin." Kakashi announced.

"Are you, Kakashi-sensei?" a familiar female voice interrupted his class.

The masked man turned to Karai, who was along with Ethan, Daisy and Tina. Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke turned to her too.

"Who is that woman?" Sakura asked.

"Never saw her on my life." Naruto said.

Sasuke stared at Karai, quietly, as she stared him back.

'He... one member of that clan...' Karai thought. 'Probably, his theories could be true.'

Naruto stared at Ethan, Daisy and Tina.

"Hey guys! What are you doing with her?" he asked at them.

"She requested us to take her to Kakashi-sensei." Tina replied.

"Who are you?" Kakashi asked at Karai.

"I'm Karai. Are you Kakashi?" she asked after introducing herself.

"Exactly. That's right." Kakashi nodded.

"These three students behind me, have not a sensei to teach them. Bring me to your leader, so I can make a request to be their sensei." Karai explained.

"Sensei?" Kakashi asked. "How can I trust that you can be one of them?"

"Give me a chance to prove them." Karai said.

Kakashi thought for a moment. He never met her, but she looked like a good teacher for Ethan's team.

"Fine, then." Kakashi accepted finally. "You'll show me that you're a good master. In other part, Ethan and his friends will be lucky to start the classes today."

Naruto stared at Karai in curiosity.

'She? A sensei?' he thought.

"As for you," he turned to Naruto's team. "Tomorrow you'll have your first mission."

"All right, and which one?" Naruto smirked saluting on a military way.

"First, we'll do something that we all can do together..."

"What, what, what is it?" Naruto asked excited and getting impatient.

"A survival test." Kakashi replied.

"A survival test?" Naruto asked in confusion.

"Wouldn't that be a training on a mission?" Sakura added.

"We trained on the academy enough for that." Kakashi replied. "This is not ordinary training."

"So... what kind of training is it?" Naruto asked.

Kakashi just laughed a bit, hearing that.

"What's so funny?" Karai asked glaring.

"Yeah, explain yourself." Sakura added.

"Well, let's just say that you three will be surprised." Kakashi explained.

"Huh?" Ethan stared in confusion.

"Of all the 27 graduates, only 9 will become Genins. The others will be sent back to the academy." Kakashi explained. "In other words, this training is a really hard test with a dropout rate of 66%."

"What?!" Naruto and Ethan yelled in shock as Sakura rolled her eyes and Sasuke was quiet.

'Sounds interesting.' Karai thought.

"Look, you are surprised! Even the lady is interested on this." Kakashi smiled.

"No way! I and Ethan went through too many situations... what the heck was the final exam for?" Naruto snapped.

"It just picks out the ones who are qualified to become low-level ninjas like he said." Karai explained.

"What?!"

"Thank you, Miss... Miss..." Kakashi thanked to Karai, still not remembering her name.

"Karai." she said to him.

"Well, we'll see if you pass or fail tomorrow at the training grounds." Kakashi continued. "Bring your ninja stuff and meet at 5 A.M."

"Oh, well. Looks like we'll have to get up early." Ethan sighed shrugging.

Then, he turned to see Naruto on his thoughts, shivering.

'I won't give up on a thing like this. I'll show him my abilities, for real. If Ethan can do this, so I'll do too!' Naruto thought.

'If I fail, Daisy will take Sasuke away from me!' Sakura thought too, shivering. 'This is a trial of love!'

Sasuke just crunched his hands, getting ready for the test.

"Well, meeting's over." Kakashi informed. "Oh, and don't eat breakfast. You would throw up if you do."

Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Ethan, Daisy and Tina were shocked after hearing.

"Oh, great! Just what we need!" Ethan groaned.

"Yeah, that's not fair!" Tina snapped in agree.

At the dawn, before the start of the test, Daisy was getting out of her house.

"Well, I'm off!" Daisy called before she walked away.

"Daisy, dear! Wait up!" a male voice called at her.

"Huh?" Daisy turned to 2 figures.

The first one was a man with black hair and beard named Asuma and the second one, a woman with black hair and red eyes named Kurenai. They were both Daisy's adoptive parents after Daisy was found as a baby, abandoned.

"Yeah, daddy?" Daisy asked at Asuma.

"Your mother and I would like to give you something." Asuma smiled at her, as Kurenai held a golden magic lamp.

"It's a gift from your biological parents." Kurenai added as she offered the lamp to Daisy.

Their adoptive daughter grabbed the lamp and looked at it. She smiled as a tear fell from her eye.

"I miss them." she said.

Asuma put his hand on her shoulder to cheer her up.

"I know, dear. But they still love you as we do." he smiled.

Daisy smiled softly at them and hugged them.

"Hopefully this gives you good luck, dear." Kurenai said to Daisy.

"I'm sure of that." Daisy said before they ended their hug.

"Good luck, dear." Asuma cheered at her.

"Thank you, daddy. I won't give up!" Daisy said on a cheerful way.

As she went away, a shadowed parrot stared from a roof the whole conversation. As Daisy walked away, the parrot smirked as his eye shone literally.

"Well, well! What do we have here?" he said.

In the forest, near to the dawn; Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke were meeting on the exact point. Naruto and Sakura were tired since they were not used to get up so early, but Sasuke was fine.

"Good morning." Sakura said to her teammates, halfsleep.

"Hey..." Naruto replied with the same face as Sakura.

Just as the three stood together, the sun rose. As they waited, Naruto was sleeping.

Some time passed... and then...

"Hi fellows. Good morning." Kakashi showed up, greeting his students.

"YOU'RE LATE!" Naruto and Sakura snapped at him.

"A black cat crossed my path, so..." Kakashi chuckled with an excuse. Seeing that they didn't believe it, he cleared his throat and said, "Let's move."

He put on a log a clock and activated the alarm.

"Alarm set at 12 AM." he announced before he explained the instructions of the mission. "Today's mission consists on to get one of this bells from me." he held some small bells. "Whoever can't, won't have lunch."

"What?!" Naruto's team asked in shock.

"I'll tie you there and eat your lunch staring at you." Kakashi pointed to another logs.

"So that's why he said... Don't eat breakfast!" Naruto groaned.

"But wait... Why are there only two bells?" Sakura asked.

"Since there are two... the other one will be tied to the log." Kakashi smiled. "That one is the person who will fail the mission. And it will back to the academy. It might be one of you or three. You can use the shurikens, since you won't be able to get these unless you are ready to kill me."

"But it's dangerous, Sensei!" Sakura protested.

"Indeed, you couldn't dodge that chalk eraser!" Naruto smirked remembering his joke of before.

"In the real world those with no talent often bark the loudest, well ignore Mr. Deadlast and start when I say..." Kakashi said.

Naruto don't like that name by called deadlast and he's angry his eyes are white. So grab he kunai from his ninja pocket swing and then held tight. He about to strike Kakashi, but he grab Naruto's hand then held his hair and point Naruto's kunai at his neck.

Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke were shock that Kakashi was behind Naruto so fast.

"Calm down. I haven't said start yet." Kakashi replied.

'No way... I couldn't even see...' Sakura thought awe.

'So, this is a jounin?' Sasuke thought smirked.

After Kakashi let Naruto go then spoke to his students. "Well, it seems you're finally prepared to come at me with the intent to kill, so you're finally acknowledged me?" Kakashi asked as he look at them while Sakura was nervous with sweat on her face, Sasuke smirk like the challenge and Naruto smirk as well. 'Hee, it seems like..I'm beginning to..Like you guys.' He thought. "Ok Let's get going. Ready...BEGIN!" Kakashi shouted as Three Ninjas jump and separated.

Meanwhile, somewhere else...

Ethan's team was ready. Ethan was warming up as Tina breathed in calm, while Daisy got her lamp inside of her bag.

"Hey, look!" Tina called. "Karai's coming!"

Karai appeared walking next to the team.

"Good morning." she bowed. "Time to test your might. Are you ready?"

"Okay. Let's get started." Karai instructed. "Do you see that mountain up there?" she pointed to a mountain. "I left a kunai on the top of it and you all will go to get it. This is a teamwork test mission, so you must work together. Understand?"

Ethan, Tina and Daisy nodded.

"Good, then go there... and good luck." Karai finished.

Ethan and his team jumped away towards the mountain in order to start the mission.

From a tree, the shadowed parrot saw everything and smirked.

"Now is the chance! The lamp is mine!" it said before flying away.

Ethan, Daisy and Tina were making their way to the mountain, unnoticing the shadowed parrot flying towards them. They made their way jumping from boulders, trees, and rocks. Soon enough, they stopped and looked up, seeing that they were getting close to the mountain.

"We're almost there!" Ethan said.

"Good!" Tina groaned panting. "I thought we could never make it."

"Now we only have to catch the flag on it! Come on!" Daisy added.

Unknown to her, the parrot came behind her on the air and dashed to her bag, pushing her to the ground. Daisy yelled and groaned falling to the ground as Ethan and Tina turned noticing this.

"Daisy!" Tina gasped.

"Are you all right?" Ethan asked.

"Ugh..." Daisy groaned as she got up carefully. "Yeah... I'm fine. What happened?"

"Beats me." Ethan shrugged. "You probably have tripped."

Daisy looked at her back and gasped as she saw that the pocket was open and the magic lamp was gone!

"My lamp!" she said in horror.

"Your... lamp?" Ethan and Tina asked in confusion.

"Yeah! A lamp that my parents gave me as a lucky charm! Where is it?" Daisy looked around.

Suddenly, they heard a parrot laughing and turned to see the parrot with the lamp on his feet, flying away. He was red and had a yellow beak.

"Ahh ha ha ha! The lamp is mine!" the parrot named Iago laughed.

"That parrot!" Daisy glared. "He stole it!"

"Some nerves!" Tina added.

Ethan glared at Iago and said, "After him!"

Iago turned and yelled in shock as he saw Ethan jumping towards him to get the lamp. Ethan yelped and fell to the ground literally and Iago screamed flying away to the top of the mountain.

"He's going to the top!" Tina exclaimed as Ethan cleared the dust of his shirt.

"So what are we waiting for? Come on!" Ethan snapped.

They ran towards Iago, in order to get Daisy's lamp. Iago flew to the highest top, right where the flag of Karai's mission test was. Ethan jumped from cliff to cliff after him and tried to catch him again. Once they were on the top, Iago dashed and Ethan fell on the ground literally. Once he got up, he looked at the flag.

"Girls, grab the flag! I'll catch that feathered freak!" Ethan called at Tina and Daisy, before he jumped and dashed after Iago.

"Got it!" Tina nodded.

As the girls grabbed the flag, Ethan made chase to the parrot.

"This lamp is mine! Give up, you kid!" Iago snapped.

"Wrong! It's my friend's lamp!" Ethan replied.

Ethan jumped to get more speed and came close to the parrot as they both went to a small forest. Iago flew away as fast as he could. He landed on a tree branch to rest. He sighed in relief.

"Enough, bag of feathers!" Ethan's voice called at him from down.

Iago turned to look down and saw Ethan, who was glaring at him.

"Give up already, kid! This lamp is mine!" Iago snapped.

"Give it back and you'll save yourself from trouble!"

"No way!"

"Very well! CHAOS CONTROL!" he stopped time and jumped just where Iago was.

Once he landed, time came back to normal and Iago gasped seeing him on the branch.

"How could you to climb here?!" Iago demanded.

"Easy! With Chaos Control!" Ethan smirked.

"Chaos... what?!" Iago was confused.

Ethan, however, didn't wasted time and tried to get the lamp out of Iago's feet.

"Hey, stop!" Iago snapped going back to his senses.

As they fight, Ethan's arm accidentally hit a small beehive which was on another branch. The beehive fell to the ground, but it didn't break. Ethan and Iago gulped at this and sighed in relief, since they thought that nothing bad happened. Suddenly, the bees came out and heck... they were angry!

"BEES!" Iago and Ethan yelled.

Iago flew away in fear, leaving the lamp on Ethan's hand, without noticing it. Ethan grabbed it without wasting time and jumped away yelling in fear.

Meanwhile, Daisy and Tina were waiting at Ethan. Tina was a bit impatient though.

"Why is he taking so long?" she groaned.

Daisy heard Ethan's scream and she turned to see him coming towards them.

"It's Ethan! But he looks nervous!" Daisy exclaimed.

"What?" Tina asked.

"GIRLS! FOLLOW ME! THE BEES!" Ethan screamed before he jumped away.

"Bees?" Tina and Daisy asked.

But they turned to the incoming bees and screamed.

"RUN FOR IT!" they screamed as they went after Ethan.

The trio kept running and jumping away to get away of the bees, until Daisy spotted a little river.

"Huh?"

"A river! Girls, how long do you hold your breath?!" Ethan asked.

"What?! You're not going to make me...!" Tina was interrupted as Ethan grabbed her arm and they all jumped to the water.

The bees flew crossing the river, unnoticing that Ethan's team was underwater. As they were nowhere seen; Ethan, Daisy and Tina came up to the surface.

"Phew!" Daisy sighed. "That was close!"

"Hey, Daisy! Here, your lamp." Ethan smiled giving her the lamp back.

"Oh, Ethan! Thank you!" Daisy took it smiling.

"Can we go just now?!" Tina snapped, irritated about being underwater. "Let's report Karai! She won't wait too long!"

Ethan realized that and yelped.

"THAT'S RIGHT!" he sweatdropped.

Back to Naruto's team...

Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura had a hard time to beat Kakashi. Sakura and Sasuke hide on several places to catch him by surprise. Naruto was the one who stood against Kakashi. He soon ran to him, but he noticed he was about to open his pocket to draw a weapon and stopped.

"Isn't taijutsu the way a ninja fights hand to hand without weapons? But is he going to use a weapon?" he asked on his mind.

But much to his surprise and confusion, Kakashi only drawn a book.

"What's wrong? Come and get me." Kakashi called at him.

"But... why did you take out a book?" Naruto asked.

"Why?" Kakashi asked. "I'm interest on the story's development. No worries, it's the same whether I read it or not."

Naruto just pressed his fist and ran snapping, "I'LL HIT YOU!"

He tried to punch Kakashi, but he blocked his punch.

"Shoot! Roundhouse kick!" Naruto did a roundhouse kick but Kakashi ducked to dodge it, still reading the book.

"Curse you!" Naruto snapped trying to punch him, but he dissapeared. "Huh?"

Kakashi was behind him, doing a jutsu.

"A ninja should not let the enemy get behind him multiple times." he said.

Sakura stared at his hand posture and said on her mind, "That hand posture is... the seal of the tiger? Is he going to use a high jutsu against Naruto?"

Sasuke saw it too and thought, "That seal is for... Fire Elements. Isn't he going to retire?"

"Naruto, run! You will die!" Sakura called at Naruto.

"Huh?" Naruto turned to her.

"Too late." Kakashi talked as he prepared his jutsu. "Hidden village of Konoha's secret taijutsu master art...!" he aimed to Naruto's rear end.

Naruto soon did funny faces, but jumped yelling in pain.

"A Thousand Years of Pain!" Kakashi exclaimed.

"It was not a ninjutsu." Sakura blushed in shame.

"Two losers." Sasuke groaned.

After that, Naruto fell to the water.

Meanwhile, back to Karai...

She was waiting to Ethan's team. She meditated calmly and detected some presences.

"There they are." she said.

She got up and look at the distance, where Ethan's team was coming. Once they were next to Karai...

"You seem to have some obstacles on your mission. What took you so long?" she asked.

Ethan and Tina smirked nervously.

"Well..." Tina gulped. "Let's just say..."

"I tripped on a rock and well... My leg bleed a bit." Ethan continued.

"We had to bandage a bit, and that's why..." Tina was interrupted by Karai.

"Let me see that wound." Karai glared, untrusting on them.

Ethan and Tina gulped at this. They knew that Karai wouldn't believe it. Karai glared at them as Daisy stared in worry.

"You're lying to me, are you?" Karai asked.

"W-Wha...?!" Ethan gasped. "N-no no no no! Hee hee!"

"What TOOK you so long?" Karai snapped making Ethan, Daisy and Tina yelp.

Ethan and Tina sweated trying to get an answer.

"I'm not so patient like you probably are... so I suggest you drop your answer right now." Karai talked again crossing her arms.

Daisy was quiet for a moment, and with determination...

"I'll tell you, Karai-sensei." she said, much to Ethan and Tina's shock.

"Go ahead." Karai nodded.

"This would be impossible to believe for you... but just when we finished today's mission... a parrot stole a gift of my former parents that my adoptive parents gave to me as a lucky charm. We had to chase but Ethan went after it, asking to complete the mission and..."

"A gift of your parents?" Karai interrupted her.

"Yeah." Daisy nodded.

"Can I take it a look?"

"Yeah."

Daisy gave her the magic lamp. Karai examined closely as Ethan and Tina were relieved.

"I see..." Karai said. "Something belonging to your family. It must be so valuable."

"Yeah..." Daisy nodded.

Karai gave the lamp back to Daisy and smiled.

"Take care of it. If you truly love your family." she said.

Daisy was amazed hearing that, but she soon smiled and nodded.

"Thank you... Karai-sensei." she said.

"No problem." Karai nodded smiling.

Ethan and Tina smiled at this, knowing that the trouble was now resolved.

"Now... today's test is over. But from since tomorrow, more challenges await you so I can see that you're progressing." Karai warned to the team, who nodded.

"Yes, sensei!" her students nodded.

Meanwhile...

Naruto was tied up on a tree, struggling to get a bell on the ground. Kakashi grabbed it and said to him, "Use your techniques carefully after thinking. This was used to your disadvantage."

"Why is he tied up?" a female voice called at Kakashi.

Kakashi turned to see Karai with her team staring at Naruto tied up.

"Naruto, what are you doing here?" Ethan asked in confusion.

"He tricked me!" Naruto snapped.

"Miss Karai, he fell on my trap being uncareful." Kakashi explained. "And... he should think before the normal." he turned to a mad Naruto.

"I already know it!" Naruto snapped again.

"I say you this because you don't, got it?" Kakashi replied as Ethan, Tina and Daisy sweatdropped.

Sasuke was shocked but he got ready.

"This my chance!" he said on his mind.

He threw some kunais aiming to Kakashi as the ninja sensei stared at Naruto.

"You're so..." he was interrupted by the kunais hitting him away.

The others including Naruto gasped at this.

"He got hit!" Tina exclaimed.

"Sasuke overdid it!" Ethan added.

As Kakashi was falling to the ground, Karai turned to the place where the kunais flew from and glared. Somehow, she knew what happened...
