The Return of Necros
Chapter 2: Sea Green and Dark Yellow
Percy, Peeeeeeeercy, wake up Percy.
A voice that voice continued to pester me,then it changed.
Master wake up. Maaaaaaaaasssster, Master please wake up. They're coming and only you can stop them.
My hands twitched irritably. People rushed to my side. I open my eyes and the lights still hurt but not as much. A woman with luscious dark brown hair and warm caring blue eyes surged forward and hugged me. I smiled and hugged her back. She was crying with happiness. A doctor came forward.
He consulted his clipboard. He started speaking. "Ah Perseus Jackson, right?"
The woman, my mom, interrupted him and said, "He prefers to be called Percy." I smiled at her.
The doctor nodded and continued, "You surprised us there. You've been in a coma for twelve years. Now don't get shocked that's bad at this point. Because you have been inactive for twelve years your body is in a sorry state. We are going to help you get back to normal, but for now you'll be stuck in a wheel chair." He motioned towards one of the nurses. Very carefully they lifted me up and transferred me over to the wheel chair. They wheeled me through the hospital and visited the other families here waiting for their sister or brother or other member of the family to wake up like I did. They apparently knew my story and I could see hope stir in their eyes.
Time skip~ one week later
Mom was finally allowed to take me home. I was still in the wheel chair though. They evaluated me and it was decided that I would go to high school as a freshman. It feels odd to think that to me I was three years old one week ago. My sweet sixteen is not so sweet. Which reminds me school starts tomorrow. My room is still how I remember it. Blue walls well blue everything, I love the color blue.
"Percy", my mom called.
"Yeah", I replied as I wheeled my way towards her.
"Jason is here and he wants to hang out for a while."
I wheel into the living room of our cozy apartment and Jason is there standing awkwardly. I smile and tease, "Well don't just stand there Golden Boy, it doesn't take rocket science to know that chairs are for sitting in." His face flushed and he sat down on the couch. Did I mention that it was blue?
"I already know that", he sputtered.
To which I reply with, "That's what she said!" I met Jason a while back when he ended up in the hospital with what suspiciously looked like massive claw marks. He hated not being able to move around. So we started talking. He lived in this old styled town with a camp nearby that he went to. We became great friends but something kept on nagging at me that he wasn't being entirely truthful.
He scowled at me to which I respond with by grinning. "How do I even put up with you", he said exasperated. "Your cheekiness and sarcasm are way to annoying."
I gave a mock gasp of horror and whine, "That was so mean", in a really nasally voice. He stares at me for like two seconds and then we both burst out laughing. "So, uh, when are you going to go back to Cali?"
His face fell. "Tonight", he said shortly.
I frown and reply with, "Hey man, don't worry about it. I'm glad I met you."
He gave a wry smile and said, "I got to get going otherwise I'll miss my flight. Take care and who knows, next time we meet you'll probably be walking again." I returned it with a half-hearted smile as he walked out the door. I sigh, just great, at least school starts tomorrow. I glance at the clock on the wall and am shocked to find out how much time has passed.
My mom walked into the living room and said, "Percy it's getting late and school starts tomorrow. Better get some sleep", she said on a softer note.
I smile and go through the tedious task of getting into bed. Everything seems to fade out and the last thing I see is the neon blue numbers of my alarm clock.
Next morning~
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
"Ugh", I rolled over and my wayward hand searched for the machine making that annoying sound. I slammed my hand down on the snooze button and rolled over again. Hang on, wait a minute. Why is my alarm clock going off in the first place? Oh shit, school starts today! I bolt upright and go through the difficulty of getting out of bed and getting dressed.
I wheel into the kitchen and mom is already up with breakfast made. She handed me a plate with blue toast and eggs on it. I'm pretty sure I mentioned that I love the color blue, right? "I'll drop you off at the west entrance. I'm pretty sure you don't want me to walk with you to the door, right?"
I nod in confirmation and ten minutes later we pull up outside the high school. I smile at my mom and say, "Meet you here after school?"
She smiled and replied, "Of course honey, have a good day." She waved and then drove to her job.
I wheel around and face the school. 'Welcome to Goode High' was on the sign. I took a deep breath and thought, well here we go.
I entered the building and nearly ran over a girl. She was about sixteen with black hair and electric blue eyes. "I'm so sorry for running into you."
She rolled her eyes and said, "Seriously there is no need to apologize Blacky."
I sputtered, "Blacky?" She smiled and rolled her eyes. My eyes widened and I smirked. "Oh, so we're doing nicknames now Sparky?"
Her jaw dropped and she glared at me. "Screw the nicknames", she muttered. "Let's get to introducing each other. My name's Thalia Grace, what's yours?"
I smiled and said, "Percy Jackson. Nice to meet you", I said as I stuck out my hand. She shook it. "I'm new here by the way." I smiled sheepishly.
A blond haired girl came around the corner and said, "Percy Jackson, right?" I nodded. "I'm Annabeth Chase and I'll be helping you around the school."
I smiled at her and thanked her for her generosity.
Annabeth's POV~
I looked at the crippled kid that I would be stuck with for the better part of this term. It sucks because he's to trusting, I can feel it. Poor kid won't survive in the world that I live in. Instead of staying silent and staring moodily off into space, I smile perkily and made him feel like I was his friend.
He opened his mouth to say something but the ringing of the bell interrupted him. The hallway filled rather quickly as it was packed with students. We awkwardly maneuvered ourselves around them as I led him to his and my first hour class.
It was an English class. Mr. Blofis was our teacher. He waited patiently for the final bell. After that he smiled and said, "Hello, I am Mr. Blofis, and I will be you Pre-AP Ninth grade English teacher. I would prefer it if you would call me Paul." His smile turn devious and for a moment I thought he was a monster. "Now the most embarrassing part of this class. We are going to play games to introduce each other."
There were multiple groans from around the classroom.
He was still smirking when he explained the rules. "Say your name, where you live, parent's name, favorite color, and your dream job." He looked at me and said, "You will go first."
I stood up and recited, "My name is Annabeth Chase. I live in Upper East side Manhattan with my father Fredrick. My favorite color is sea green. I want to be an Architect."
After that everyone else's introduction passed in a blur until Percy wheeled up to the front. "I would stand up and introduce myself", he stated tartly. "But as you can see I can't exactly stand." Some people chuckled at that. "My name is Percy Jackson. I live with my mom, Sally Jackson, in Upper East side. My favorite color is blue and-"
Macey, the blind haired bimbo, interrupted and said, "Sally Jackson? Like as in the woman who runs the Blue Cafe?"
He nodded.
She gushed, "Her cookies are amazing!"
He smiled slightly and continued, "I would like to be apart of the National Guard. Oh and I dare you all to laugh because it's not like I'm wheel chair bound for life. After all I was only in a coma for twelve years."
Di imortales! He must have been very young. Admiration flashed through me because he effectively stopped the class from laughing at him.
He definitely earned my respect.
End of Chapter.
So i rewrote this because it was to short and it wasn't fair to you readers. I will try to get chapter three started.
