Since it's a tie I can think of only 1 person to settle this tie... I'm just like Humphrey... Bro... Only you can solve this tie situation... you need to vote... Also I think it is funny you're the only comment reacting to the "all night" thing XD!

Back to business... Some one needs to break it! Also thank you Guest for voting! I'm surprised only 1 guest voted... None the less thank you for contributing! I chose him up there to break it because he always reviews a chapter (ain't dat kind of him?) but has never voted. It doesn't have to be him; however he is the only reviewer to not... well... vote.

Chapter 18:"So Much For a Day Off"

Humphrey had just finished drying off and was waiting on Kate the others. (A/N didn't think you cared about bathing so I skipped it.) He heard a voice from no where speak to him. "Be on guard... For not all is what it seems..." It was the mystery wolf from earlier. Humphrey spun around looking for him; but couldn't seem to find him anywhere... "Strange..."

"Hey Humphrey."

Humphrey turned around and saw Kate standing there. "Hey Kate." Replied Humphrey with his normal heart warming smile. "Wait where's Lilly and Garth?"

"Right here"

Humphrey turned around again only to see Garth coming from behind. "Man I'm loos'n my edge." Humphrey muttered to himself.

"Well, when does this concert start?" asked Garth.

Humphrey replied "They tend to start around noon; but some start early."

Kate decided to speak up now. "Well, why don't we go early? That's what I'd always do if I wasn't sure about a time."

"Yeah why not? We could get the best spots if we're early too!" Exclaimed Lilly with excitement.

"I know who the band is playing." Smirked Humphrey.

Kate raised an eyebrow and was about to ask Humphrey a question before he turned around and shouted "Onward!" Kate growled in frustration as she's been trying to ask him for a while now how he knew about concerts.

"Hey Kate. What's wrong?" Asked Lilly. She noticed Kate's frustrated growl and knew something was up. She put her paw in front of Kate so they could hang back a bit before continuing. "Kate... Tell me what's wrong..."

Kate sat down, sighed, and said "Well... I've been trying to talk to Humphrey and it's kinda like he's purposely avoiding me. It's nothing; just a little annoying."

Lilly smiled and said "Kate calm down. It'll be fine. Remember that he hasn't exactly had the best of recent days."

"Yeah. I guess you're right. Maybe he'll act normally after the concert."

"Yeah. Hey let's catch up."

Kate nodded and they sprinted off to find Humphrey and Garth. After running for a few minutes they found Garth unconscious.

"Oh my god! Were's Humphrey!" shouted Kate as they examined Garth.

Garth slowly regain consciousness and sputtered out "Find... Humphrey... Danger..." with that he passed out again.

"Mom was right... They do go insane... even Humphrey..." At that last part Kate's ears went flat against her head.

Cut to Humphrey...

Humphrey surrounded by for beings. He had no clue how far he ran; all he knew was that they wanted him. Each being a blackened out color. Humphrey was growling at them. He had managed to escape and was pretty cut up and bruised.

"Who are you!" shouted Humphrey who was still panting from his attempt at fighting them.

The lead being stood up and let loose a demonic laugh before some blades shot out of his wrists toward his elbows. The rest followed suite, standing up, but they only had razor sharp fingers. They all took the appearance of a human; but each had red eyes that seemed to be like ectoplasm coming out of their eyes. There was no pupil. Just a white void with red lining it glowing evilly as the void seemed to float out of their eyes and dissipate after a second are two of floating away.

One dashed at Humphrey, with it's claws drawn, ready to kill. Humphrey closed his eyes tight ready for the blow. However opened them when he heard a clang sound.

He looked up and saw there was a human standing over him. This human had black hair, ice blue eyes, and had a weird track suit on. The front from mid-side on was white; while the back was black and it was sleeveless.. The legs had a similar pattern. except the inner thighs and caffs were white; while the outer exposed parts were black. In his hand was a silver sword; that's middle had some weird writing on it.

"Wow... You gonna stand there all day?" Came the human.

The creature hissed and pulled back; but before it could attack was impaled by the man's sword. It scream as blacks flames enveloped it as it dissipated into nothing.

The other creatures charged; but each one met the same fate as the first. Now it was only the lone warrior and the lead. There were a few cuts on both of them. The cut across the right bicep on the evil creature glowed blue as well as the one diagonally going up to the right on it's chest.

The man had a few more cuts across his shirt and arms as well as some on his pants. He smiled, which confuse Humphrey, even more so when a wolf tail appeared behind the human. It looked very similar to Humphrey's except it somehow had managed to escape his site during the epic fight.

The demon, now dubbed that by Humphrey, all of the sudden became unnerved by the site of the tail. It quickly wrapped it.s self in black flames and disappeared. The creature turned towards Humphrey, and smiled, before saying:

"Well that was anti-climatic."

"Who are you?" Asked a shocked Humphrey.

"I'm-" He was about to tell him when a voice interrupted the silence of the forest.

"HUMPHREY!" came a voice that they both recognized.

"Up! Gotta go!" Came the person's voice.

Humphrey turned to stop him; but he was already gone. Leaving Humphrey alone to figure out how to explain to scorch marks every were. Kate finally found Humphrey in the middle of the circular clearing of the trees and grass.

She noticed the scorch marks and asked "Humphrey! What happened?!" She finally turned to Humphrey who was struggling to stand because of his injuries and helped him up. "Better question what happened to you?"

"Augh, we... We were attacked, me and Garth, by..." Humphrey thought about then realized something. Who would believe his story of being attacked by the shadow figures and being saved by a weird human with a wolf's tail. No that would just add more onto the fact that everyone thinks he's going to go insane. so he made up a lie and said "... a rival pack. I didn't get a good look at them though. There was a lot of wolves."

Kate's mind shot straight to a answer... clan Humphrey was apart of was acting up again. However she wasn't 100% sure and need evidence first. She also notice some shoot on his coat; but decided that's a question better saved for later...

Kate didn't think he was crazy anymore seeing how beat up and still tired he was; in fact she loved him more for still being alive. She decided to forget about the concert thing and head t Humphrey's den. there'd be plenty of time to explain to her parents later. she just wanted to makes sure that Humphrey was alright for the rest of the night...
