Chapter 21
"Colby and Jon are waiting in the lobby." Joe said as I tied my laces, and grabbed my iPod. This morning I decided to go to the gym with Joe because I wanted to work out, I'm not even being clingy, but if any hoe tries anything with him.. Let's just say, I still have my wrestling skills.
I focused on cardio while the guys stayed in the weight area, Jon is still being off with me even though we made up. I do feel bad, but my heart is with Joe and he needs to realise that.
"You alright, Cat?" Colby said, making me jump. His big brown eyes were filled with concern and it was impossible not to stare at his golden muscles. Snap out of it, Catalina. I didn't realise I was staring until he snapped his fingers in my face, I blinked and he smirked at me.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm ok." I said, grabbing my water bottle and hopping off the treadmill. Colby followed behind me as I adjusted the settings on the climber.
"This is ALL mine." Joe said grabbing my butt, I slapped his hand away and he winked at me. I spent the rest of the workout talking to Colby about his career success and Paige.
I didn't look down and my foot slipped off the climber, I thought my ankle was going to break until I fell into strong arms. I braced myself to look up and I was met with blue- grey eyes.
"Just in time, princess. We're gonna grab something to eat." He said and I blushed as he licked his lips and put me down. I nodded and Joe put his arm around me, even though he was looking out for me, I feel like he's being extra protective over me because Jon's here. Maybe I'm just over thinking..
"I'll have plain salad and water please." I said as I gave my menu to the beaming waitress, I smiled at her and the guys were staring at me with their mouths wide open.
"You trying to catch flies?" I said and they closed their mouths at the same time, damn they were truly brothers.
"You never eat salad. What's going on?" Joe said and I shrugged, all I wanted to do was keep in shape.
"I want to be healthier." I said, and Joe burst out laughing, I slapped his arm and crossed my arms over my chest.
"You're perfect the way you are." Jon said and I blushed, Joe cleared his throat as the waitress put our food on the table. We ate in a comfortable silence, time went fast as the live taping of Raw was in 2 hours. They guys already had their stuff, so I went back to the hotel to shower and change.
I got dressed into a new figure hugging dress, black heels and hoop earrings. I kept my makeup simple, but I added red lipstick to match my dress. I put my hair up in a high bun and I was good to go.
So far, no one was giving me judging looks but I didn't care. The past is the past. As I was walking backstage I saw Alicia, she looked different ; her hair was darker and longer but it suited her well. I miss her, she was my best friend and I let her down.
"Cat?" I heard as I turned around to walk away, I looked back and saw Alicia approaching me, I couldn't see any signs of anger on her face so I guess that's an improvement.
"I've missed you so much, and I'm sorry." She said before embracing me in a tight hug. I hugged her tight, and embraced the feeling.
"No, I'm sorry. I should've told you." I said, and she shook her head and hugged me again. I blinked back tears as she held me close, I missed my best friend.
"So where did you go? I was worried." She said, leading me into the catering room. I shook my nerves away and sat at a table with her.
"I went back home to Florida.. I got a new job. I just needed time away from here." I said and she nodded and looked behind me, my heart skipped a beat when I saw red nails claw through my hair.
"I think we need to talk." Eva Marie said as I got up to face her, I waved at Alicia and followed Eva Marie to somewhere private.
"Look, I feel bad about the way I treated you. I never get like that, but it just hurt me because I thought you were my friend." She said, and she looked genuine with what she was saying.
"I thought we were friends too. I didn't mean to hurt you.." I said, and she nodded. I sighed as I saw Stephanie McMahon at the end of the hall, I didn't know if she wanted to talk to me but I was scared regardless.
"Well, the past is the past. Guess what?" She said, I broke my gaze from Stephanie and saw her diamond ring, it was stunning.
"Congratulations girl, I'm happy for you. Who's the lucky guy?" I said and she blushed, if it was Fandango, I wouldn't be able to contain my laughter.
"Jonathan, he doesn't work here, but it still worked out and I couldn't be happier." She said, and I hugged her. I heard the clicking of heels in the distance and my heart started racing.
"Catalina, what a pleasant surprise. My office now, please." I heard and I jumped, Eva gave me a thumbs up and I followed Stephanie to her office. I don't think I've been this scared in a while.
"We want you back, I hate to say this, but the divas division is failing without you. You're a fan favourite already, and your wrestling skills are impeccable. So what do you say? Are you willing to come back?" She said, and I looked away from her intimidating gaze. I've just built a life back home, and now I'll be on the road again. I have a job, and I have a friend back home, but wrestling has really become my passion.
"i wasn't impressed with your sudden departure, but we're glad that you're back."
"Ok, I'll come back. Thank you for this opportunity." I said and she beamed at me, I sighed in relief as she shook my hand and made me sign a prolonged contract. As I opened the door a bunch of divas were outside the door, including Layla. I was expecting them to beat me up, but they pulled me into a group hug.
"Welcome back!" I heard a mixture of voices and I pulled back to go and find Joe because his match just finished.
Since when did Joe become friends with Cameron? I thought as I walked back into catering and saw them hugging, and to me it looked more than friendly. I know he just wants to get a reaction out of me, and you know what? Two can play that game. I just stood there while they finished their 'embrace', Joe finally looked up at me and a pink tint covered his cheeks, I rolled my eyes and sat down at a table. I was internally pissed, and all I wanted to do was rip that blonde wig off of her head.
"Baby.." He said, sitting next to me. I felt him looking at me but I didn't even want to look at him. I out on my best fake smile as Colby and Jon joined us. I'm not saying Joe can't have female friends, but it was Cameron, and I just didn't like her. I don't want to let this affect me, but I can't help it when I'm angry and it shows on my face regardless.
"What's up?" I heard and someone nudged my leg, I looked up and my eyes met with warm blue eyes.
"Nothing. I got my job back, so I'm happy." I said, shrugging. Colby reached across the table and held my hand. I haven't had a heart to heart with him in a long time.
"Tell that to your face." Jon said, and it just sparked my fuse. I let go of Colby's hand and stood up, I grabbed my bag.
"Where are you going, baby?" Joe said, and I plastered a fake smile on my face.
"I'm gonna get a drink. I need something strong." I said, and from across the room I saw Alicia and Wade getting a little comfy in the corner. I'm happy for her.
"What's up with you?" Cameron said, and she had that fake smile on her face. I felt the need to just punch her.
"Leave me alone, before I lose my temper." I said, folding my arms across my chest.
"Why are you getting like this? Roman is single anyway.." Cameron said, and my heart stopped.
"Yeah, he didn't tell me that he was in a relationship." She said, and I looked over my shoulder and saw Joe standing up staring at us. I glared at him, and looked back to Cameron who seemed confused.
"Okay." I said turning my back on her, and walking the fuck out of there.
I guess the 'honeymoon period' is over.. How is Joe not claiming his woman? And what will Jon do about it? Thanks for reading.
