I like this story. And guys just so you know I'm taking down and redoing missing after I finish this so it flows better

don't own twilight

Bella ran a hand through her hair as she unlocked her home, stepping inside and nodding for me to follow. She was using one crutch and winced now and then, but started turning on lights all the same. It was small. Just a bed, T.V., small kitchen area, and a bathroom. She looked at me and Leo and smiled.

"You can sit on the bed or anything if you want. Make yourself comfortable. I'm going to see what I have in the fridge." I nodded and looked around. I noticed several pictures and bit my lip, getting close to one of them. The sight made me gasp. That was me, when I was younger. In the picture I was smiling and leaning back into a girl with chestnut hair and deep chocolate brown eyes. Her features weren't as slim or toned, but it was definately Bella who had her arms around me. I backed away from the picture as I heard her return and sat down on the bed, craddling Leo in my arms. Bella returned with a sandwich in her hand, smiling at me but I recognized the emotion in her eye however.

Loss.

If that picture was real, we were friends. Good friends by the look of it, and now I couldn't remember her, but she knew me. This much was clear when she handed me the sandwich. No one else knew of my strange love of mayo and mustard sandwiches except for my mom, but here she was serving me one. I decided to test my theory.

"How'd you know this was my favorite?"

She gulped and bit her lip. Somehow I knew her answer before she said it.

"I made it on autopilot... but I'm glad you like it."

She cleared her throat. "I made it on autopilot... but I'm glad you like it." She gave me a grin and I didn't understand. I knew what she was going to say... light filtered through the window and I realized the sun was out again from the clouds. I got up and walked over to the window with Leo still in my arms.

"Your son..." Bella muttered after a moment, coming up behind me and looking at him over my shoulder. Leo was looking right at the sun. I bit my lip.

"He was born blind."

I expected her to freak out but instead she simply reached down and ran one long finger over his. He quickly grasped it and I looked up to see her smiling.

"Maybe he can learn piano or sculpting. Sure he can't see it, but I knew a blind man that could play the violin beautifully. He learned all by ear and feel. It was amazing." She looked at me and her eyes softened even more as her smile grew more tender. I felt myself smiling back before looking back out the window. What I saw was the reflection of a family... One in which everyone cared for each other.

I desperately wished I could remember Bella now. And I wanted to do everything in my power to.
