I woke up to hear Leo crying. Bella grunted beside me. She didn't have a couch, so after an arguement where she said she would sleep on the floor and I said no we agreed to share the bed. I started to get up and Bella shook her head.

"I'll get him." She stood up and limped over to the makeshift crib and lifted my son into her arms. She began shhing him, rocking him in her arms. "It's okay... it's okay I'm here, little man..." He started to quiet some and Bella began a low singing, lulling him to silence and eventually sleep. She held him a little longer and kissed his head, setting him back in the crib and making her way back to the bed.

"Thank you," I whispered to her as she lay beside me.

"No problem."

"He's never calmed down for anyone but me before."

"I guess he just likes me."

I looked at her a moment and finally gave in. "You know me."

She hesitated a moment. "Yes."

"Who were we to each other?"

"You were... we were close."

"Best friends?"

"You could say that, yeah."

"Why don't I remember you?"

"Well... I think it's because of something your father did. Is there anything that you can do that you didn't think you could before?"

I thought about it and remembered that I knew Bella's answer before she said it before. I told her and she nodded.

"What ever he did to give you these... visions so to say, may have messed with your memory."

"How do you know it was him?"

She closed her eyes and bit her lip. "He experimented on me."

"What can you do now?"

"I'm faster, stronger than before. Anything I want to shoot I can, even if I can't see it."

"That's amazing."

"It's terrifying."

I scooted closer to her and snuggled against her form. She slowly wrapped her arms around me and I felt comfortable.

"I was more than your friend, wasn't I."

"..." She sighed. "Yes."
