"You want to what?!" Bella yelled. Emmett crossed his arms.

"We're putting you off active-duty. You need to heal properly."

"I'm fine! Look!" She started to stand and I went to stop her.

"Bella, no!" I yelped, but it was too late. Her leg buckled beneath her and I rushed over to catch her. She leaned heavily on my side, breathing heavily in pain and I quickly moved her over to the bed, laying her down.

"See? 'm fine.." She slurred, cringing from her pain.

"You're like taking care of another kid," I sighed. Emmett handed me a bottle of meds.

"These are pain killers. Cullen said they'll keep her pain free, and pretty much unable to cause trouble. Two every four to six hours."

"Thanks, Em."

"No prob. Just take care of her, sis."

"I will."

He left and I went to get Bella a glass of water. I sat beside her and handed her the pills and glass. "Take these, hun."

"It's going to knock me out isn't it."

"Likely."

She nodded and downed the pills and whole glass, setting the empty cup on the floor beside us. Five minutes later she got a goofy grin on her face and giggled. "Hey, Ali-cat?"

I smiled at her. "Yes, Bella?"

"You're really pretty..." She turned her head to me and grinned again. "I thought you should know." Her words were slurred but all the same she was trying to look serious.

"Thank you, Bells."

"Do you think my scar is ugly?" She grabbed my hand and brought my fingers to the jagged scar across her eye. "It's so icky, isn't it..."

I traced it with my finger tips and she closed her eyes. "No. I think it suits you... You look good with it."

She smiled a little and slumped against me. "Well that's all that matters..." Soon after the words left her mouth a soft snoring followed and I stroked her hair as she slept against me.
