Rhonda woke up the next morning with a throbbing pain in her temples. She saw an arm draped over her and realized she was naked. She turned over and saw Jon. "Oh shit." She tried to pry herself away from his grasp and scoot out of bed but he held on to her and pulled her closer.
"And where the fuck do you think you're going?" he said teasing.
"Uh, I think I need to go. What the hell happened last night?"
Jon looked disappointed. "I called a taxi to take you back to the hotel and bring me here but you decided to come home with me instead. Rhonda, I really didn't think you were so drunk that you wouldn't remember. I wouldn't like, take advantage of you like that."
"I know you wouldn't. It's okay; we're adults. I just can't believe it. I really should go though."
Jon kissed down her shoulder "you don't have to leave just yet do you? We haven't finished catching up."
"Jonathan….."
"Okay, at least let me make us some coffee; then I will take you home."
Rhonda muttered under her breath "I don't have a home."
"Yeah, about that, I was going to talk to you about your…. situation."
"What about it?" She asked him curiously.
"Let me get up and put some coffee on. You get dressed and come in the kitchen. I'll tell you then." He kissed the top of her head and got out of bed. She couldn't stop staring at his naked body and he caught her looking. She quickly turned her head and he smiled "don't blush. Look all you want." He laughed and pulled on his shorts before walking out of the bedroom. Rhonda got up and looked for her strewn about clothes and got dressed. She pulled her long black hair back into a ponytail and joined Jon in the kitchen.
She sat down at the table while he got two cups down. "Okay, so about this shit going on with your ex. You don't have to go back to Cincy and you don't have to stay at the hotel; you can crash here if you want. And before you freak the fuck out on me, I am not asking you to move in and be my woman or whatever because we both know I don't do the girlfriend thing well. I hate to see you living at a fucking hotel and from what you said, I don't see you going back to this asshole anytime soon."
Rhonda was taken aback. She never expected that. He saw the shock on her face so he explained. "Listen, I could use a roommate to help pay the bills since Joe moved in with his baby's mama and it would be nice to have someone to keep me company when I am home. We have known each other a long damn time and you know all about me so I trust you. I have a spare room so you don't have to sleep with me, unless you want" he said with a smirk. "Just think about it."
"Yes."
"Yes to which part?"
"Yes, I would like to stay with you. It is sweet of you to offer."
"I think it is shitty what that dude did and then for your man to not believe you is all a bunch of bullshit. I will go with you and we will get your stuff. If that redheaded fucker Sheamus tries anything, I will bust his face open."
Rhonda stood up and took Jon's face in her hands "I have always thought you were a sweetheart, even though you try to hide it. Thanks for this, Jon."
He smiled shyly and his cheeks flushed "You're welcome; just don't spread that shit around. I have a rep, remember?"
She nodded and leaned down to peck his lips lightly. "Okay, let me pour us a cup. Oh and let me just say, I am glad you don't have pink hair anymore, but I miss the earrings." They shared a chuckle and finished their coffee. They went downstairs and got into his car, with Rhonda giving him directions to Stu's house.
When they got there, she figured he would be awake so they just knocked on the door. Stu answered and smiled when he saw Rhonda standing there "love, I am so glad you…" He noticed Jon standing in the yard and his face fell. "What the bloody hell are you doing with Dean Ambrose?" he asked angrily. "I didn't think you knew anyone."
"His name is Jon Good, and we have known each other since high school back in Cincy. He was in my sister's class. Like it is any of your damn business."
"Eh? Yeah it is my business; you are my girlfriend."
"Excuse me? I think you mean EX-girlfriend."
Stu looked angry "since when did you become my 'ex-girlfriend'?"
She glared at him "oh, I don't know, about the time you didn't believe me when I said I didn't post that video. Now can you please move; we came to get my stuff."
"First of all, I just don't know what to believe and secondly, where are you going to go?"
"Well, first of all, if you don't know what to believe, that means you obviously don't know who to believe and therefore don't believe me. Secondly, that is really none of your fucking business now is it. Please move." Stu stood in the doorway, trying to process what was going on.
"Rhonda, I don't want you to leave. At least tell me where I can find you."
Jon stepped up behind Rhonda "look, Wade, she ain't got to tell you shit. I am pretty fucking sure you lost the right to know anything about what she does."
Rhonda nodded "yeah, and if you think I am staying here under the same roof as that snake-in-the-grass bastard you call your friend, you are confused. The real enemy is right under your nose. You need to get a clue or buy a clue, something. I am leaving and you aren't stopping me, now move out of the fucking way." She turned back to Jon "good thing I saved the boxes. They are in the garage, will you go get them?"
"As soon as this asshole stops harassing you I will."
"Who are you calling an asshole? And I am not harassing her. I think I have the right to ask her why she is leaving."
"Um, no you don't. That is the great thing about breaking up" she sarcastically told him. She moved past him and went to unlock the garage door. Jon scowled at Stu and went to meet her. He grabbed some boxes and followed her to their bedroom. "Luckily I didn't bring a ton of stuff with me. Just grab the stuff out of those 3 drawers and throw them in a box. I will take everything out of the closet."
Stu was getting angrier now, not only that she had broken up with him, but she had already found another man. "So you are just finished with me and looking to shack up with this tosser here, eh?"
Jon immediately was in his face "watch your fucking mouth Wade. You might be able to intimidate a woman, but I ain't scared of you. You have this fake tough-guy routine for WWE but I know it's bullshit. I can tell the difference. Yeah you had such a hard life with your daddy being an accountant. Yeah, you really had to struggle didn't you, sunshine?"
"Shut your gob, Ambrose. I would beat the stuffing out of a puff like you, mate; so you best sod off. This has fuck all to do with you."
"When you are running your mouth about my girl, yeah it does concern me, mate." Rhonda stepped between them and put her hands to their chests. They were both tense, like a snake that was coiled and ready to strike.
"Oh, she is 'your girl' now is she?" Stu asked derisively.
"More mine than yours, asshole. Whose bed was she in last night hmmm?"
Rhonda frowned at Jon. "Okay, boys stop it. Stu, I am not 'shacking up' with him. He needs a roommate and I need a place to stay besides the hotel. As if any of this is your concern. Just go away. We will be done soon and you never have to see me again."
Stu sighed and backed up. "That isn't what I want."
"Well tough shit, kiddo. And when that cocksucker Sheamus wakes up, tell him when he comes down to FCW, I am gonna kick the shit out of him. And um, Wade, you best hope I don't see your ass in the ring."
"Why bother with a ring, mate? I can handle you right here."
"Oh yeah tough guy?"
"OKAY! That is enough! Stu, go the fuck away. Jon, stop making it worse and help me pack."
Drew heard the commotion and got out of bed to see what was going on. "Fuck this. Two days in a row. Give me a break." He opened his door and saw Stu there arguing with one of the FCW guys that he didn't know by name. "What the bleeding hell is going on? Stu?"
"This wanker is winding me up!"
Drew walked over to where they were standing. "Who is he and why is he here?" Drew asked, but then saw Rhonda. "Oh."
"Hey Drew. This is my friend Jon."
Drew stuck out his hand "nice to meet you, mate."
Jon looked surprised but shook his hand "likewise."
"Stu, come on. Let them finish."
"Drew…"
"You can't stop her if she wants to go. Just stop being an ass." Drew took his arm and pulled him away, back to the living room.
Stu plopped down on the couch. "How the hell did my life go balls up in one bloody day?"
"Listen mate, I know the video being posted was bad, but the way you acted towards Rhonda, you deserve her leaving you. Now you know you are my mate, but you acted like a proper plonker to her. You can't really take offense to the fact that she is moving out."
"What am I supposed to do, Andrew? Who would you believe?"
"You don't want to know the answer to that. If you don't know who to believe, then I guess it is for the best that she leaves." Stu wondered what he meant by that. Drew had been nothing but cryptic the past day.
Drew got off the couch and went back down the hall "hey, Rhonda, can I talk with you for a tic?"
Jon looked at him and looked back at Rhonda "yeah. It's okay. Don't worry, Jon. Just finish taking that stuff out of the closet and I'll be right back."
She followed Drew to his room and Stu glared at both of them. "Look lassie, for what it's worth, I believe you."
Rhonda stared at him in astonishment "you do?"
"Yes, I do. I really wish you wouldn't go, but I understand. Stu is going to feel even worse when the truth comes out."
"Why didn't you say anything yesterday?" she demanded to know.
"Because at the time I wasn't sure."
"Oh, and you are now?"
"Yeah, I am."
"Then why aren't you doing something?"
"What do you expect me to do? These are my two best mates."
"Yeah and I am just some whore coming between them, is that it?" Rhonda yelled.
"No, that's not what I mean. I told Stu he needed to figure it out for himself. I don't want to be in the middle. Besides, I have no proof, just a hunch."
"This is my life, Drew. I really care about Stu and he broke my heart. I am angry but it kills me that he really thinks I could do that to him." Rhonda started to tear up and he pulled her into his arms.
"I am sorry, lassie. I am. I know how much you care for Stu and I am bloody furious with Ste for doing this to you both."
Rhonda sniffled "well, thanks for that at least. I need to go help Jon finish so we can go. The silver lining is I found him last night. Or I should say, he found me."
"Wait, how well do you know him? I don't want you getting hurt."
"You mean hurt worse than I am already? No, Jon is a good guy. I have known him since he was a skinny 13 year old kid following my little sister around like a puppy. For some reason, because of his in-ring character, people think he really is crazy and dangerous. He is tough because of how he grew up, but he has a heart of gold."
They heard a ruckus outside his room and both jumped. Drew slung his door open and Jon had Stephen on the floor, punching him in the face. Stu had Jon around the waist trying to pull him off. Jon struggled and Stu let go when he felt his elbow twist. He screamed in pain and grabbed his arm. Drew yelled at Jon to stop and pulled him off Stephen. When Jon stepped back, Stephen kicked him in the knee and he hit the floor.
Jon yelled "I am gonna break every bone in your goddamn body and leave you a worthless pile of shit, you fucking bitch of a man!"
Drew held him back and Stu grabbed Stephen. "Yer a dead man the next time Ah get me hands on yeh!"
"Boys! Stop it! Jon, are we done?"
He growled at Stephen and Rhonda asked him again "hey! Are we done?"
He looked over at her and spoke low "yeah. I think so."
"Okay, Drew, let him go so he can load the car up. Stephen, so help me God if you don't stay away from me, I will stab you in the heart with my high heel." Jon wrenched away from Drew's grasp and went to grab the boxes. Drew spoke up, "Aye, I will help you." He wanted the hurry and get them out of there before anything else happened.
She turned to Stu and stared defiantly at Stephen. "Word of advice before I leave Stuart, beware the wolf in sheep's clothing." She grabbed a small box too, and in two trips they had everything out in Jon's car. Rhonda hugged Drew goodbye and he whispered in her ear "I promise you, I am going to get to the bottom of this, regardless of what happens. Just please, don't write Stu completely off just yet."
Rhonda spoke softly "too late." Drew looked disappointed but squeezed her hand. He leaned down and kissed the top of her head. "I hope you don't mean that."
He walked away and Jon saw Stu and Stephen watching from the doorway. He decided to give them a show they wouldn't forget. He grabbed Rhonda and pressed her against his car. He roughly kissed her and thrust his tongue into her mouth. She grasped his back and he pulled her hips sharply into his groin. She wrapped her leg around his waist and twirled her fingers in his hair. Stu started towards the car and Drew put his hand to Stu's chest. "Let it go, mate."
When Jon pulled away, he looked back at Stu and puckered his lips while he gave him a wink. He slapped Rhonda's ass before opening her car door. "Hop in, babe."
She had to bite her tongue to keep from laughing at the look of disgust on Stu's face. He wrinkled his nose like he smelled something rancid, like he always did when he was mad. She felt a little bad for a moment, but it quickly passed. She was done. She didn't care if he believed her now. She didn't care if he killed Stephen. She didn't even care if he took another breath. She was through with him and hoped she never had to set eyes on him again. But somehow she knew it wouldn't be that easy.
